11.3 Deliverance

We are now approaching our service together towards our brothers and sisters in Christ from quite a different viewpoint. In this lesson, we will pray together for our brethren as the authority of Jesus through us.
When we consider Revelation 12:10-11 carefully – And they overcame him – it is evident that we cast down the accuser for the sake of our brethren. We discover that Revelation 12:10-11 is part of 1 John 3:16; that is, casting the accuser out of the minds of our brothers and sisters is part of our setting forth our souls for them. Nonetheless, this is not something we do or say “at” or “to” them, for Jesus shares His humility with us.
Casting down Evil. In Lesson 9.1, “An Enemy Has Done This,” we went through seven specific things by which the serpent rules in the Church. More than that, we saw in Lesson 10.2, “Self-Rightness,” the incredible power of demonic delusion that maintains the false image of a “super-Christ” in the intellects of Christians.
Here is our directive. – We are not wrestling or contesting against blood and flesh, but against the rulers and sources, against the authorities and influences, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). We are NOT in any contest with Christians regarding the ideas in their heads, rather we together are casting down the heavenly evil that rules over their thinking.
Our Platform. There are four things we hold in our understanding, that is, the platform upon which we stand, as we set our brethren free.
1. We ourselves stand together in full confidence in the absolute Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ – Blood, Cross, and Resurrection.
2. Our focus is not on spiritual bondage, but on the hearts of our precious brothers and sisters, that they would be set free and restored fully into the knowledge of Jesus alive in them.
3. We stand together as the Mercy Seat of God, drawing both Father and specific people to join together inside our hearts above the Blood, setting Tthem free of us to arise into Life.
4. With all confidence, we allow Michael and his angels to defeat evil and the Spirit of God to awaken Life.
Christ Covered Over. It is fully made visible that we ARE a letter of Christ, having already been written with the Spirit of the living God inside the tablets of our hearts of flesh.
Yet the obvious reality of Christ alone written upon their hearts is not visible to our brethren, though they do love Jesus. The writing of Christ living as them is covered over, as Paul said, by a veil of darkness, or as John shows us, by seven seals of darkness, darkness that must be broken and cast off so that all can see and read Christ Jesus in Person written upon our hearts. God calls this wondrous unveiling, this removal of the darkness that prevents, the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Yet as we have seen, those seals keeping Christ alive in our brethren from being known and read by them are the powers of darkness – an enemy has done this.
Let Us Pray. Let us pray together. In fact, it might be good for you to pray these prayers out loud in full confidence that you ARE joined together with other like-minded believers in this authority.
“Father, I stand together with other precious believers in Jesus here inside the Blood of Your Son in full measure, sprinkled upon our hearts. We together live only inside of Jesus and Jesus inside of us because we are fully confident that the cross of Christ keeps sin and death far away from us. As we stand together in this confidence, we know that the Holy Spirit is always flowing out from our hearts together to set Your people free.”
For Our Brethren. “Father, it is Your precious people, the beloved of the Lord Jesus, who are the passion of our hearts as well. It is our brethren for whom we lay down our lives, that they might know the Jesus of their hearts, that they might live inside of all Salvation. We understand the darkness blocking them in unbelief, yet we value far more the healing of their hearts to know You.
“Father, we stand together, taking all authority You have given to Jesus, now living in us and as us, and we direct that authority against the demon spirits who are sleeping inside your church, turning their ears and their mouths away from the speaking of Christ. We possess all the authority of Christ, Your Purpose and Intention, and by our words, they must flee.”
Jesus Alone. The first and most apparent power of darkness is the image of the super-Christ, pictured to us by Constantine striding through the church with outward radiant perfections, having turned the cross of Christ into a weapon of control, into the arrows of the condemnation of the evil one.
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we cast down the demon of the image of the super “Christ,” this faraway and above-you image our brethren hold in their minds and call “Christ.” You false image, with your false cross that never resolves sin, but only accuses, we cast you down with all your argument. You have no more place in the minds of our brethren.
“Father, in the place of this false image, we open the eyes of our brethren to see Jesus alone, the Jesus of their hearts.”
Gentle and Lowly of Heart. Then out from the demon of the intellectual super-Christ, comes the sly and lurking power of contempt, contempt for others, and thus, contempt for God. This lie removes peace, resulting in Christians treating one another badly.
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we cast down the demon of arrogance and contempt ruling in the Church of Christ, all thinking that “my gift makes me above you,” in the minds of all who belong to You. You false spirit of self-righteousness, we cast you down with all your fakery. You have no more place in the minds of our brethren.
“Father, in the place of this arrogance, we open the hearts of our brethren to know a God who is gentle and lowly of Heart and who always carries them.”
Absolute Redemption. We understand that the demons of arrogance and contempt, now codified into “Christian theology,” maintain their rule by the third power of darkness, the false limiter of the Atonement – “Measure yourself by your own limitation, not by Christ.”
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we cast down the demon that limits the Atonement in the thinking of our brethren, this demonic “wisdom” that teaches that the sacrifice of Jesus is not enough, that something more is needed. You false limiter, we cast you down with all your intellectual explanations. You have no more place in the thinking of our brothers and sisters.
“Father, in the place of this limitation, we plant the knowledge of one sacrifice for sins forever all through the knowing of their minds and the speaking of their mouths.”
Knowing Father. These first three demons, however, come only out from and serve their master, Death. And thus the power of darkness that claims that death alone is what saves us from evil stands as the greatest barrier in the minds of our brethren that prevents them from knowing Christ through them now.
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we cast down the demon that places death as the answer to the Christian “dilemma.” We break the false covenant with death our brethren have made and by the power of the Mercy Seat, we set them free to know only You, the only knowing that is LIFE. Death, you are defeated; death you are cast down.
“Father, in the place of death, we give You, that they might know You alone.”
Running into All of God. The first four demons are the ruling powers of this demonic spell cast upon the minds of our brothers and sisters. The final three simply shuffle out from that rule. The first of these is the demon that weeps and wails before the cross, refusing to enter into God, exalting instead a false “struggle against sin.”
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we cast down the demon of unbelief that keeps our brethren from stepping through the wide-open veil to live only inside of Christ. You false accuser, that anoints their imagination that they are “always falling short,” we cast you down. Your weeping and wailing has no more place in the Church of Christ.
“Father, in the place of refusal, we take our brethren by the hand and run joyfully with them into all the fullness of God.”
The Face of Christ. Those who are busy “struggling against sin” are then subject to the power of darkness that invites the self-righteous to wear every mask in the book. These masks and hiding places are meant to deceive God and others, but they do not cover over the guilt, contrary to Redemption, held tightly inside.
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we cast down the demon that offers every mask of pretending, every rock or tree to hide behind, every excuse that thrusts sin into the space between the Christian and God. You dance of faces, we cast you down in Jesus’ name. No Christian remains for you to offer your masks.
“Father, in the place of the masks, we give our brethren one face to wear, the face of the Lord Jesus Christ, faithful and true, and they, real and whole, complete inside of Him.”
Thanksgiving. The final demon of these three lurkers is the demon of accusation, of endless complaining, of speaking evil of self and of others, of every expression of unthankfulness. This demon manages to accomplish in pretense what James said cannot be – to send forth cursing right alongside the blessing of Christ.
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we cast down the demon of accusation out from the minds and mouths of our brethren. We cast down all accusation against God, against themselves, and against others. You accusing devil, your time is finished; flee the Church of Christ into your chains.
“Father, in the place of accusation, we show our brethren the silence of all that opposes and the joy of thanksgiving, knowing Christ Jesus as the only story of their lives.”
Our Warfare. These prayers are short but direct and to the point. Feel free to pray these many times inside the same confidence and togetherness with others but directed towards specific gatherings of people or churches or even specific individuals.
We are in no game, but rather, a great theater of war. – Yet we do not wage war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but are God-able towards the tearing down of fortresses, overthrowing arguments and every high thing or barrier lifting itself up against the knowledge of God. We take captive every thought into submission to hearing Christ even as we possess all readiness to dispense justice to all false hearing, as our own submission to hearing is already made full (2 Corinthians 10:4-6).
Jesus Faithful and True. Part of what Paul means in these words is that we are not about defeating the enemy; we are about the proving of Christ Jesus, faithful and true. We are about the knowledge of Father flowing forth, filling this heaven-earth as the waters cover the sea.
Regardless of any strength in our speaking the authority of Christ, we continue in His humility, always seeing our brothers and sisters as better than ourselves, always setting them free of ourselves. They don’t even have to know our part with Father in their mighty entrance into His victorious Church.
Death is swallowed up by Life.
