4.3 Into Complete Devotion
As we approached the Veil into the Most Devoted place, we noticed that it is the same Jesus through whom we had entered first into His redemption and second into His Spirit. In my own life, however, this was the second time Jesus came to me as the bony finger of God with the STERN admonition, “Will you surrender all that you are to Me, right now?” Except the first time, I was filled with the Spirit that same day. The second time, it was thirty years between, thirty years of the Altar of Incense, of God contending with me.
The Veil into the Most Devoted place is just the same as the Gate and the Door, we got down on our knees in surrender, we lifted up the cloth, and we placed the Lord Jesus upon ourselves as the One already come into full union with us.
The Faith of the Altar. Receiving Jesus as my only life, a Jesus who comes first into full union with me in all things and has done so from the start, is the greatest surrender to God I have ever known. But then, when we arose inside the Most Devoted place, we saw a room inside of God we had never known existed. No Christian remaining in a limited Devotion has a clue as to what God has for them, here, inside of Jesus.
Yet there was a faith in God known upon the Altar of Incense that had enabled us to pierce the shadows of a Veil already torn wide open, into an outline of what is True. That faith in us that allowed Jesus to carry us through was our agreement with God, that His Covenant is True, that we will be just like the Lord Jesus Christ, right here on this earth, right now in this age.
Inside the Most Devoted Place. We entered into the Most Devoted place as the coals of the Altar and as the smoke of the Incense, carried by Jesus. Yet this was not us “going into” God, but rather, receiving Jesus as already True, a Jesus who Himself has come into union with us. There is no natural light in this place, for we walk through faith and not through sight.
What we did see, through our faith that God is True, was a wooden box, covered on the inside and outside with gold, containing the Covenant God made with us. And upon that wooden box, we saw the Mercy Seat sprinkled with Blood, a slab of pure gold, beaten fine, with the two cherubs upon it. What we did not yet see, even through faith, was the Pillar of Fire that is God, energeoing everything upon the Mercy Seat.
The Rule of the Most Devoted. Here is the rule of the Most Devoted. – Therefore brethren, having already a free and bold proclamation of entrance into the Most Devoted inside the blood of Jesus consecrating for us a newly sacrificed as well as a living way through the veil, that is, through His flesh; and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us approach [everything inside the Most Devoted] with a true heart, in full assurance of faith; having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness, and our bodies washed with pure water. – Without faith one is incapable of pleasing God; indeed, it behooves the one approaching God [in the Most Devoted] to believe that God is and that He becomes the rewarder of those seeking out and requiring of Him (Hebrews 10:19-22 & 11:6).
The Ark of the Covenant. What is it that we require of God? – The fulfilment of the Covenant, unveiled in full completion. We then realized that the wooden box carrying the Covenant is our humanity, our human flesh, covered on the inside and on the outside with God Himself, God manifest in the flesh.
We know that we were created to contain all of God and to reveal God to all, for God is True and He speaks the Truth. We are the flesh of Jesus, one flesh with Him (Ephesians 5). having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness, and our bodies washed with pure water. Jesus Himself comes first into union with us; it is He who actively lives as us. Jesus alone is our all-connection with God.
The Covenant. Already symmorphosed with the image of His Son, Jesus being the first of many brothers and sisters of His same Kind, born of the same womb. – If Jesus becomes visible to us, we will be just exactly like Him because we will be seeing Him as He is. – Reflecting the glory of the Lord to one another as a mirror, we are being metamorphosed right now into the same image from glory into glory.
I cannot comprehend any Christian, or any human for that matter, who considers anything else anywhere or at anytime. Yet the writer of Hebrews insists that God not only speaks the Covenant as absolute, but that He then swears by OATH that His Words, Christ Jesus, are the only reality there is in those who confidently assert that the Covenant is True.
Written on our Hearts. It is fully made visible that you ARE a letter of Christ, …having already been written, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God – not on tablets of stone, but inside tablets of hearts of flesh (2 Corinthians 3:3). Christ Jesus, Himself in Person, is written all through the pathways of our hearts, our human hearts of flesh, as every Word God speaks, sustaining all.
Think about the full meaning of “not on tablets of stone.” It means that your heart, filled with Jesus, is more the Bible than the Bible ever could be. Yet it is in our hearts that we plant the Words God speaks out from His own being, now become us. Our lives have become one seamless story of Christ.
All Sufficiency. Our sufficiency is always out from God (2 Corinthians 3:5). Union with Christ is a complete rest inside ourselves inside of Jesus. Here again is the clearest expression of the Devotion of Devotion, the Tree of Life, the secret place of the Most High. Know that I am inside of the Father and you inside of Me and I inside of you.
Jesus is not inside of us in one tiny little place; He is inside of US, in all that we are. And we are not inside of Jesus a little bit; we are inside of Jesus inside of God, sharing all, in all divine and Personal Fellowship. My grace, My presence with you, is sufficient for you, for My power is brought to full completion inside of your human weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
The Mercy Seat. What is this Mercy Seat sprinkled with Blood? God calls it His throne, the throne John saw in the Spirit. It is the place wherein Jesus wins our heart. “The Mercy Seat” is another way to say “sharing Hheart with God.”
The Mercy Seat began as a single lump of gold, which was then beaten with tiny hammers until it became Mercy. Nothing of any meaning is happening upon this earth except one, the shaping of the human heart to contain and to reveal the Heart of the Father. Yet even as our hearts are beaten fine to fit God’s Heart, so His Heart is beaten fine to fit ours, inside every circumstance of our lives. Jesus is the Heart we share with God, and the authority.
The Two Cherubs. The two cherubs upon the Mercy Seat represent the two cherubs keeping the Way to the Tree of Life, the two cherubs, one on each side of Jesus as He joined us with the Father in the agony of His own soul. Jesus called them forth in the prayer that birthed the Kingdom, when He REQUIRED of God, “Father, KEEP them. Father, Make them Devoted.”
Yet Keep and Make Devoted serve only to keep us aware of the eagerness of God towards us, that He might share the fellowship of our lives together with us, forever. – And there I will meet with you, and I will visit with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything… (Exodus 25:22).
Sprinkled with Blood. The Blood defines us, that we might sing the Song of the Lamb. The Blood measures the value we are to God, that is, value beyond measurement. As we are seated upon Blood, between Keep and Make Devoted, so the presence of the Pillar of Fire, God making Himself known, becomes our overwhelming consciousness. By the Blood, we are the tip point of God-Energeia as He enters into the knowledge of all. By the Blood, we synergeo with God, making all things good.
And by the Blood, we see as God sees, we judge as God judges, for the Blood has encompassed the sins of the entire cosmos and rendered them inoperative (1 John 2:1-2).
Turn Around. Everything in God’s Tabernacle path for you into knowing Him has been for one purpose, to get you to where you are now as quickly as possible. Now you know what your Salvation has been right from the start; now you know that God has been telling you the truth. And now, for the first time in your life, you can live a normal Christian life. Now, you can be the Salvation of God revealed, as God intended for mankind right from the start.
You cannot sit down upon the Mercy Seat of God, the throne of heaven, however, until you do one more thing, second only to asking Jesus into your heart. To sit down upon the Blood, you must TURN AROUND!
