17. Voice

Voice is the expression, the singing, of the Heart. Three primary things make a person a person: a heart, a name, and a voice. The Lord Jesus Christ is all three; we wrap ourselves with Him. The Lord of the Universe is Heart; Jesus, the man, is His Name; Christ is all the speaking of God sustaining all, Voice. He calls each one of us by our name, by a name known only by Him and us. We live by His Voice.

Those who hear the voice of the Son of God will live. John 5

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, butthe Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:11-12

Every description or picture of God in the Bible is figurative. God is not the thing people saw. The only picture of God that is truly the Father is Jesus walking the path of the atonement. Everything of the throne and the One sitting upon it found in Revelation 4 & 5 is figurative. Yet God is seen by most as some “other” thing, something measurable and definable, more of a separated human form than invisible and all-pervasive Spirit.

A significant part of my present knowledge of God comes from my having embraced as scientific fact the electrical theory of the universe. We were taught the gravity theory of the universe over many years; that theory rules people's knowledge of God more than you might realize. The gravity theory claims that the objects of the universe are isolated and separate from each other with only the weak bond of gravity slightly connecting them. So much of what is now seen out there, however, defies all laws of gravity, and thus the “scientific” fantasizers spin their ever more fantastic stories about dark holes and dark matter and the warping of space/time, things that simply are not science in any sense of the concept. Real science deals only with presently observable fact.

The electrical theory of the universe, on the other hand, posits that the universe is a unified whole with vast electrical currents doing out there what those same electrical currents do in the laboratory. There is little in the electrical theory that cannot be demonstrated in the laboratory, including all of the fantastic things out there unexplainable by modern cosmology. You have devoted much time in your life to knowing the gravity theory of the universe, ideas that give you a false knowledge of physical reality; I propose that knowing the electrical theory is important to your present knowledge of God. I have studied this theory on a regular basis for almost ten years now. Here is the website I recommend: www.thunderbolts.info. Buy the books; watch the videos.

Electricity is invisible; when electricity becomes visible, we call it light on the one hand and heat/energy on the other. As the electrical currents flowing through our arm of the galaxy discharge upon the largest object in our vicinity, the sun, the result is both light and heat. All life on earth requires both.

Although electrical engineers know a whole lot about using electricity, they do not really know what it is. The same is true of light.

Everything is electrical. Atoms are simply a balance of charged particles circling in a powerful electrical bond. An atom looks just like a solar system. A galaxy looks just like a hurricane. A human cell moments after conception looks exactly like vast stellar objects seen now in outer space. Seen from a different angle, a galaxy also looks just like the human eye. Everything is formed by the laws governing electricity.

The human body is electrical. In fact, there are whole arenas of electricity not yet studied by science, including the science of electrical frequency. Principles of natural health come out from the operation of electrical frequency in the human body. Modern medicine disregards and fights against that reality of the human body; it is primarily a religion of death, not science.

God is omnipresent Spirit that fills all in all and WORKS all in all. Yet He is a Person. My present knowledge of the electrical universe informs (not rules) my present knowledge of God as Spirit. Yet here is a law of electricity: electrical events are scalable. That's why the newly formed one-celled fetus looks identical to objects out there as large as galaxies. The same electrical laws are operating in very similar ways in both.

God is not electricity, but electricity most certainly comes out of God. The people at The Thunderbolts Project attempt to steer clear of anything religious; they want to establish the science of their understanding. That is what scientists should do. However, consider that the human mind is electrical. If electrical events are scalable, then, just as there is a small-sized human mind, so there must also be a cosmic Mind. Just as there are human persons, so there is a cosmic Person. Actually, it's entirely the other way around. We are persons because He is a Person.

As I sat in the college Poetry class last semester, listening to the present-day understanding of poetry, what it is and how it works, I was listening to a description of Christ and of God. Because they relate to, and thus reject, a Nicene God, they could not have understood what I was hearing. We listened to a webcast on “Word.” Fantastically inspiring! We watched a video on light. Wow! These things speak the nature and reality of God and Christ all the way through. Yet few Christians could hear Him in those things because they know only a God and a universe divided as differing and unrelated objects.

I thought to attempt a study on how poetry shows us Christ, but lost interest. Yet such a study would be wonderful. The same with modern takes on light and word. Both reveal Christ as we are coming to know Him. Yet we are the ones who know Him, and thus this Christ, personal in us and revealed through us, will be the very thing informing all other knowledge, what it is and how it works.

I just read a new-ager on Facebook saying “christ” things, very similar to how we say them, except never does he consider the Person of the Father or of Jesus. No matter how “correct” such “christ things” may be, my spirit just doesn't witness when the Person is absent.

I fell in love with a Person; His name is Jesus. I am filled full with a Person; His name is Father.

At the center of Person is Heart. The absence of heart, the absence of desire, is the absence of God. But the expression of Person is Voice. It is Voice that makes God Personal to us.

Heart and Voice equals Person.

Writing teachers place voice at the center of good writing and the single most important element of good writing, yet voice is so very hard to teach. Voice is the person coming through the words.

Wind, earthquake, fire, all these things come out of God, but God is not those things. God is a still small voice, speaking on the inside of us. As I shared in “Life,” this Voice is not giving us commands to obey. Commands to obey are part of Adam's separated creation, part of the Old Covenant; they correspond to the limited “gravity” theory of the universe. God commanded Adam not to eat of such a relationship with Him.

In “Life,” I was speaking of seed bringing forth life, but that is not the only aspect of Voice. Voice is also creation: God spoke and light came to be. Tolkein, in The Silmarillion, posited that all things come out from singing, from the voice of Song. Voice is also Communion, Person inside of person.

Something inside tells me that we have not known Voice as God wants us to know it. I have no idea what I'm reaching for, but I write so that Voice might come into view.

Here is the definition of “voice” in writing as given by Education Northwest in their “Six Traits of Writing.”

“Voice is the writer coming through the words, the sense that a real person is speaking to us and cares about the message. It is the heart and soul of the writing, the magic, the wit, the feeling, the life and breath. When the writer is engaged personally with the topic, he/she imparts a personal tone and flavor to the piece that is unmistakably his/hers alone. And it is that individual something – different from the mark of all other writers – that we call Voice.”

He who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.  John 10:2-4

When we hear His voice, what do we hear? “He calls his own sheep by name.” We hear our own name, the name that is known between Him and us alone.

His Voice is that which calls us forth, calls us to Him, calls us into His glory, calls us into our place.

When I am in public and I hear the cry, “Daddy, daddy,” coming from some little child, I always instinctively turn, thinking it is the voice of my own, though they are now grown. I was leaving a movie theater awhile back. A little boy, barely two, was standing at the top of the dark stairs, alone, not knowing where to go or what to do. I saw what was likely his mother most of the way down, yakking on her cell phone, oblivious to this little one who held an overpowering claim upon her. Such a thing is beyond me. The bond that held my wife's and my own heart to our little ones was so strong; they were never apart from our immediate thoughts, especially when we were in public.

A child knows his mother's voice before he is ever born.

Heart – Name – Voice, these things are so personally and intrinsically related.

He calls his own sheep by name.

The Old Covenant says, “Obey the voice,” over and over. The New says “know His voice.”

Paul said we are not like Moses. We ARE NOT LIKE Moses!!!

Moses covered the glory upon his face, a glory that was passing away. Paul says that, out from this new heart, the very heart of Christ which we bear, “we use great boldness of speech.” Then he says, “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, 'I believed and therefore I spoke,' we also believe and therefore speak.” 2 Corinthians 4:13

What do we speak?

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus…Romans 10:8-9

Voice = Christ made personal in me.

Now this word “confess” is the Greek homologeo, which is the action form of the noun, homologo, which is, literally, “same word,” that is, “to speak the same as.”

In previous letters I saw that the Word, Christ Jesus, is in our mouth. We speak the same as He with great boldness of speech. This is the Word that comes continually out of the mouth of God.

I am meek and lowly of heart. – I am among you as the One who serves.

I am the bread of life. – I am the living bread. – I am from Him and He sent Me.

I am the light of the world. – I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me. – I am from above.

I am the door of the sheep. – I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. – I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.

I am the resurrection and the life. – I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. – I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. – Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am.

Those who believe, speak; those who do not believe place these words upon a Christ far away from themselves. But notice what Jesus says: “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” We have learned that these words are, in every conceivable way, literal.

We know that our heart is Christ, because God says. Thus we speak out from our heart, because we know that God speaks only the truth.

We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

This is not speaking of separate geographical places as in heaven over there and earth over here. Heaven is seen and temporary. It is God who is not seen, just as electricity is not seen. Electricity is made visible ONLY when it discharges upon an object and in becoming visible, electricity becomes light and heat. God becomes Son and Spirit.

In the Old Testament, thunder was considered to be the voice of God. Thunder is caused by electrical discharge. In fact, consider the vibrations of the voice-box that cause voice. The splitting apart of air by electrical discharge and it's slamming back together is much the same.

In our day, electricity is common and ordinary, even though no one knows what it is. Yet all things are made and sustained by it.

Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews 1:3

The Word God speaks is everything to Him, yet that word is quiet and never pushes itself onto anyone. We ourselves must draw it off the page and make it live again in us.

That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 1 Peter 1:7-8

The Father spoke the Word; the Word revealed the Father by purging our sins. The Spirit reveals Him to us: Voice. Voice, heat, energia, is the manifestation of God that births God made visible, God manifest in the flesh.

What does God hear when we speak Christ?

He hears the only thing that matters to Him arising, for the first time, out from creation.

Speaking Christ with great boldness of speech against the sight of our eyes and against the judgment of our self, just BECAUSE God says is the whole point God is after in this entire exercise called creation.

His Voice in our mouth.

“Correcting” other believers when you “discern” darkness in them is not the sin. The sin is failing to speak Christ, failing to turn on the light.

A reader recently shared with me that, as she spoke Christ her only life and as she contemplated my letter, “The Altar of Incense,” by the travail of the Spirit she experienced passing through a portal such that now everything looks entirely different to her. “Christian” things she used to be comfortable with now seem empty and far away.

I have found in recent days that the words of Jesus in red in the gospels now sing in unison with my very DNA. That doesn't make us anything special. It's just that we know His voice and are known by Him as His voice. We vibrate in harmony with His Voice.

Thus, when others speak out from their own voice, we cannot hear Him in those words. We are filled with momentary sorrow, but we keep speaking Christ.

If any man hear His voice!

~~~
I am now writing several days later. I wrote much of the above out from my mind, knowing they were true words, but also knowing that I did not have the essence of what God wants me to share on Voice. Since then I have passed through a few days of great emptiness of soul. I know God has spoken His vision for me, yet He does not provide. Did Jesus not say, “Ask whatever you want and the Father delights in doing it”? I quoted that in my letter, “Father.” It seems to us that God just does not respond.
Then, to finish the credits I need (just the present two courses I am taking now), I am immersed in atheism. Don't be deceived about “sending your child to college.” The primary purpose of secular college is to convert all to atheism. But this atheism is not neutral. It's progenitor is Karl Marx, and they follow him. They do not understand that the exaltation of the “group” over the individual always results in murder. Yet, when I look at the Christianity of history, all I see is more violence and murder. God's people have so twisted who and what Christ is, making all of it a mockery and a horror.
God doesn't help, either. He is neither seen nor known.
By faith (Moses) forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. – (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Belief in a future “heaven” is a faithless excuse for the obvious reality of the present “absence” of this invisible, unseen, unknown God. “Someday?” No, Today. – Today, if you will hear His voice.
Elijah saw all the ways we want to see God, but God was not in any of them.
People who break fully with Augustine and the Nicene Creed in order to contend with God through what He actually says in the New Testament, often go mad. Entire groups who make that attempt go full circle, as the move of God I was a part of has done, coming all the way back around to their own version of the Nicene Creed in the attempt to deal with an invisible God who just does not do what He says. Those who blame God for not doing what He says often become atheists. Those who want to remain “Christians” create Nicene Christianity all over again, and in doing so, place the blame upon man – sinner, your flesh is the problem.
Inevitably, “heaven” always takes the place of God in us now, and some form of the rapture,“Someday, God will do something, if we just keep saying things that aren't real,” becomes people's hope.
So when I am angry and discouraged, embarrassed and hurting, when I doubt that God even exists, something I've never done until I've had to wrestle with entrenched atheism versus a bankrupt and violent Christianity, and contending with an INVISIBLE God, why do I sing His praises and give Him thanks in the middle of the night?
Covenant. I gave my heart to Jesus fifty years ago. I have no inclination to take it back again.
A God who is INVISIBLE. The word “invisible” is very large. It doesn't just mean that He can't be seen with natural light. He is as invisible to heavenly beings as He is to earthly. It means that He is simply undetectable by any created form of detection, whether heavenly or earthly.
We say that we know God, but there is no outward proof of that. We speak Christ, yet nothing seems changed, not really.
I am writing in this way, sharing these things, for a definite purpose.
Electrical engineers cannot explain what electricity is, nor do they ever see it. Yet they know exactly how to channel this invisible power that sustains all things in order to do all kinds of fantastic work for human beings. Electricity is our slave and makes our modern comfortable lives possible. Most of the abundance we enjoy in modern life comes from the service of electricity.
It's been more than a year since I made the bold proclamation concerning Blair Valley as Lazarus coming out of the tomb, in “My Vision.” I got all excited several days ago that God would provide at least several of the millions it would take to make that happen. Then nothing but discouragement.
God says that He shows Himself mighty on behalf of those who wait upon Him.
But it doesn't seem so. He remains, in every possible way, invisible.
Every way, that is, except one. Voice.
I mentioned earlier the sister who wrote to me several days ago, in the middle of this inexorable build-up of discouragement, how God caused her to pass through “a portal” in knowing Him as a result of reading my letters and listening to my audios for a few years now. I haven't replied to her yet, though I will. I am such a needy man. I NEED encouragement from you, yet it takes much energy drained from me to maintain such communication back at times.
Then I received another email this morning and understood why the God of travail causes me to pass through His own agony. Here is part of it.
– Daniel, the past few days you have been heavy on my heart.  So I am wondering if you are all right? Also I wanted to let you know about your book you sent me months ago, The Unveiling: When the Day Star Arises in Our Hearts. You know I devoured The Jesus Secret.  But for some reason every time I tried to read The Unveiling I just couldn’t. I desperately wanted to. I didn’t understand it. I have kept the book close by me knowing I would be led to pick it up again to read but at the Lord’s choosing.
Well the past week that is exactly what happened. I have only read the first two chapters so far but THEY WERE LIFE CHANGING FOR ME!!!! You know that it is not enough for me to receive revelation or knowledge. But that revelation MUST become my reality. And for some time there were some things I was always pondering, feeling like I was missing something. Then your letter “Heart” was sent, the two letters “Face” and “Heart” but more “Heart.” That was a real turning point. After that I was led to pick up The Unveiling. There is so much in the first two chapters alone that has changed something inside of me forever!! The part of the old man being gone but we go on the memories really helped to FREE me from my past.
I realized now that the reason I was not able to read the book until now is there were other things I needed to receive first and your letter “Heart” was a big part of that. I am so thankful for you and for your faithfulness to the Lord.  Every time I go through this I know the Lord in ways I never knew Him before. I see Him like I never saw Him before. Oh how can we ever think we KNOW HIM ? How can we ever think WE KNOW ANYTHING AT ALL?  I realize now for the first time EXACTLY what you mean when you say WE ARE BLIND.  We do not know who we are or who we will be. AND I LOVE IT!!!
~~~

The Voice of the Spirit, what we sometimes call “revelation,” comes, and in a moment, we see and know things that are true and real that we could not know before. – Voice.

The real beginnings of the story of God in the earth begins with these words: Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country.”

God always comes first as Voice. He always comes second with “Follow Me.” It's not a matter of “getting out.” It's a matter of Christ alone. My sheep hear My voice and they follow Me.

The definition of “madness” in human thinking is to follow an invisible voice, a voice no one else hears.

“Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. John 12:27-29

The Old Covenant imposes itself in “Christianity” with the idea that this “Voice” comes to test us, to prove whether we will obey God or not. Paul said that the law was given to prove that we would not.

 So it was, when you heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that you… said: ‘Surely… we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. …This great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then we shall die… You go near and hear all that the Lord our God may say, and tell us… and we will hear and do it.’ Deuteronomy 5:23-27

They did not share heart with God.

In the New Covenant, entirely because of the Blood and the Cross, God's real intention comes through. God is invisible and unknowable. He enters into His creation, both heaven and earth, as Voice. Reading through the accounts in Exodus and Deuteronomy, where voice and fire figure so much, it is clear that God demands no visible form of Himself in the human imagination. Man wants a visible “power” God; God is not visible.

Yet the greatest longing in the heart of God is to be seen and known and touched, to take little children into His arms and to bless them.

There is one transition only from an invisible God to “Christ, the image of the invisible God.”We must understand that transition. David understood God in a way that few did. Here is most of Psalm 42

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your God?”

 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance…

Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterspouts; all Your waves and billows have gone over me…

I will say to God my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.

Wow, David sounds like me. David wrestled with the difficulty of an invisible God as well, but inside his tears, He said two things that point us to the day of the revelation of God in which we now live.

My soul thirsts for You, O God. – Deep calls unto deep.

I want you to picture the center of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, the place in Michaelangelo's painting where the finger of God reaches out to touch the finger of man. That is exactly what is taking place right now with us and God, only it's not finger to finger, but voice to Voice, Deep calling to deep.

What God is about to do has never been done. You see, not only is creation created, but it is marred by sin and ruled by darkness. The sacrifice of Jesus has broken that darkness by faith, but the reality is not yet seen.

Look at the promise and reality of the gospel apart from the unbelief of Nicene Christianity. All of God in us now! Victory over sin and death! Rivers of living water flowing out from us setting creation free! God manifest in the flesh! Being JUST LIKE Jesus! Then compare what God says in the gospel with the experience and practice of Christians for 2000 years. My enemies… say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

God has placed His own voice in our mouths. Our engagement with Christ, with our backs turned utterly against any thought of sin or self or the separated human, but seeing Christ alone, this deep thirst we speak calls unto that very thing inside of God, that Holy Essence that He is bringing forth out from Himself to plant inside of us that God would now be seen and known.

Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:11

A Christianity that includes sin and a separated human nature in its picture cannot call forth that inside of God that will transform the universe. As we face God eye to Eye inside of having put on the Lord Jesus Christ, Christ in our mouth calls the deepest parts of God into visible reality through us.

Voice comes through Spirit. Voice is God coming through into the thing He has always desired, to be seen and known – though us.

The Source of Voice is Heart, the deepest center of God. Voice makes that Personal Heart known. Voice births that same Song, Christ, in our hearts; we sing with Him the Song of the Lamb. God sings Himself into visible manifestation through the singing of our mouths.

Voice makes a Personal Heart known by name; Voice calls each one of us by name. Voice sings in each one of our mouths.

And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings. Revelation 19:6 – And His voice as the sound of many waters. Revelation 1:15

Voice is not about “what Jesus did for me.” Voice is God Himself singing through our voicebox, making an invisible God visible, through us, His image, the visible expression of a forever invisible Being.

“Voice is the writer coming through the words.”

Voice is God coming through us, though our mouths, the only way He will ever be known and seen.

When God becomes visible, when people see God for the first time, what will they see?

They will be looking at us.

What will they see?

They will see ordinary people who are utterly real with no need for any pretence or bluster, laying down their lives for one another in love.

They will see God.
