Symmorphy IV: Life

By Daniel Yordy

This is the final course in the Symmorphy series. This course desribes our life together as the Church of Christ and is intended to be a "manual" for Christian Community.

Introduction

The final goal and destiny of every believer in Jesus is the Church. We are members of one another, and as we walk together, loving one another, so Father shows Himself to all through our connections together.

Church life is community and family, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, old folks and children, walking together through daily human activities, loving one another with a pure heart fervently.

It is through the Church, these many local expressions of Christ, then, that God is seen and known and from the Church that all blessing flows, transforming all creation into goodness.

How do we then live? How do we walk together, loving one another with the same love by which Jesus loves us?

This text is a manual for Church life, now and through the Age of Tabernacles.

Have you thought about what it means to live inside of all Salvation now? That is, to live inside the Church? For our gathering together as the local Body of Christ IS all the fullness of Christ, the Lord Jesus filling everything in everyone, as Paul said.

You see, Paul claimed that our gathering together as the Church IS the physical body of the Lord Jesus, walking now upon this earth. This book is written on the assumption that Paul is telling is the truth.

For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body… and have all been made to drink one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:12-13).

As we gather together daily as our local church, so we are the visible expression of Jesus to all creation, and Father through Him.

In whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit (Ephesians 2:21-22).

The goal of God, the desire that fills all the passion of His heart, is to become visible to all, that all might see and know Him. Our Father can know His great Desire only through His dwelling place, the Church, brethren walking together daily inside of love.

What does it mean to be “built together for a dwelling place of God?”

This book is written to give a beginning answer to that question.

Paul said that we are being built together, being knitted together, being entwined together, and that the purpose of this specific work of the Spirit in the Church is that God, our Father, might have a dwelling place to call Home, a Body, through which He can show Himself as He is to all creation.

We know what “being built together” might mean only as we know, in full, God’s intentions to inhabit all the interactions found in life together.

In this manual or guide for Christian Community now and through the Age of Tabernacles we will look at life together as the revelation of Father, through the lens of designing a Home for God and for us. Our basis will be the principles of the patterns of home, patterns of wholeness, patterns of Father at Home.

I am confident that you will be astonished at how wondrously well the patterns of designing any home fit together with the most important verses of the Bible.

You may never have considered Christian Community or thought of it only as a fringe idea. Yet the New Testament places life together as the Church as the only reality of Salvation fulfilled.

As you read these pages, I am confident that you will become amazed at the wondrous reality that God intends Church to be. You owe it to yourself, at the very least, to consider these things that they are true.
