13.3 Considering the Patterns
In this lesson, I want to consider the twelve patterns of the Kingdom, similar to the ten patterns of home, used to build a house. We have added two more because Kingdom is a larger concept. – Because a Home for God includes all creation singing together inside of knowing Him.
Our layout for this lesson will be much the same as the last. These patterns describe spaces, however, and not actions. One of our spaces is “Synergeia,” another is “Movement.” We will consider these as if they are spaces, rather than actions. The things we want to think about in devising a pattern language for spaces will be different from our layout regarding actions and flow.
The Patterns. The ten patterns of home are 1. Inhabiting the site, 2. Rooms inside and out, 3. Sheltering roof, 4. Capturing light, 5. Parts in proportion, 6. The flow through the rooms, 7. Private edges common core, 8. Refuge and outlook, 9. Places in between, and 10. Composing with materials.
In Symmorphy V: Life, we saw the direct connections between these patterns of home and their respective ruling verses. To those verses we add drinking of the same Spirit (Synergeia) and the body of Christ, the body of God (Symmorphy). Thus, the twelve patterns of Kingdom building are 1. Location, 2. Spaces, 3. Covering, 4. Seeing, 5. Proportion, 6. Movement, 7. Consideration, 8. View, 9. Transitions, 10. Members, 11. Synergeia, and 12. Symmorphy.
An Exploration of Words.
1. Place, Location, Topography, Setting, Heart of Fellowship;
2. Rooms, Spaces, Many Abodes, Dwelling places;
3. Shelter, Cover, Protection, Surety, Propitiation;
4. Seeing, Light, Vision, Perspective, Understanding;
5. Balance, Parts in Proportion, Wisdom;
6. Go in, Flow through, Learn, Movement;
7. Love, Compassion, Agape, Respect, Consideration;
8. Oversight, View towards, Refuge and Outlook;
9. Go out, Transition, In-between, Give away;
10. Materials, Members of, Partakers of, People;
11. Synergeia, Work/Serve together, Homologia, Symphony;
12. Symmorphy, Share the same form, One body together.
From Personal to Social. I have two simple patterns that allow us to draw a pattern language for building the Kingdom out from the ruling verses of the Bible. Notice how these two are parallel.

From Personal to Social. I have two simple patterns that allow us to draw a pattern language for building the Kingdom out from the ruling verses of the Bible. Notice how these two are parallel.
Pattern 1: The Personal
1. God In
2. God Out
3. The Human Person
4. Stand Upon
5. A Shared Life
Pattern 2: The Social
1. Prayer
2. Provision
3. People
4. Property
5. Participation
1. God In
2. God Out
3. The Human Person
4. Stand Upon
5. A Shared Life
Pattern 2: The Social
1. Prayer
2. Provision
3. People
4. Property
5. Participation
Everything in the Kingdom comes out from that which is personal (Covenant), first, but that which is personal always flows out to that which is social (Kingdom), second.
The Personal. Every part of the first ruling verse fits into this diagram. Thus we are speaking of language that fits the personal. Then, the remaining ruling verses fit the diagram as well, but in differing ways and with different emphases. For instance the third is – if anyone thirsts (the person), drink of Me (a shared life), and rivers of living water (God out). Yet the other parts of the diagram are found in the key supporting verses, as in – a fountain of water springing up (God In).
The Social. Our pattern for God’s language for the social side of the Kingdom could be called “The Five P’s.” Thus “Prayer” is chosen as the word meaning “God-In,” that is, the presence of the Devoted Spirit in the midst of the Church, that is, everything the people do together that acknowledges “God with us.” These five things are equals of importance in the existence of any Community of Christ and by extension, the entire ecosystem of the Kingdom.
In our layout, we will merge the personal and the social together as slide topics, with the second coming out from the first. For instance, provision is always the direct result of – God-out, God flowing out, Rivers of Spirit.
Shaping What Comes. Each of our twelve topics in patterns of the Kingdom will have its own lesson, inside of four chapters. Each lesson will have twenty slides and will follow the same format. We will create an initial layout here, but these will more than likely change as we get into the actuality of writing.
Yet that is how Life works. As Life flows, it creates the very spaces inside of which it will express itself. Yet once Life is expressing itself inside those same spaces, it adjusts itself to fit the spaces it has made. Here’s that same concept. – God has spoken us inside His Son, whom He appointed heir of all, and through whom He forms the ages (Hebrews 1:2). I have said before that the ages, each next moment, are shaped out from our persons.
Concentric “Homes.” In “building the Kingdom,” what is it that we are doing? We are making a Home for Father God, that He might be known, that He might be among us all across the earth, that He might have available for Himself the full scope of His expression everywhere. Then, by making a Home for Father, we are making also a home for ourselves inside of God, a home together where we might dwell. And we are making a home for all created things wherein all might belong and all might know God.
These “homes” can be seen as concentric circles, inside of each other, and thus we are also forging that ecosystem by which everything works together inside thanksgiving to the benefit of all.
From the Pattern to the Ecosystem.
Slide 1: The introductory slide. This will be an encyclopedic, concise and comprehensive, description of the Kingdom pattern, of what, why, and how.
Slide 2: Elements of the Pattern. We will draw in the structures of meaning from the text Patterns of Home, as we used in Symmorphy V: Life. These will be reduced in wording in order to fit the box.
Slide 3: Applied to the Kingdom. How the elements of the pattern fit the concept of the Kingdom, both all society of humans & angels throughout all heaven-earth and the larger complete ecosystem.
Slide 4: The Entire Ecosystem. I find the need to specify exactly that to which we are applying the pattern.
From the Ruling Verse to the Shaping of Power.
Slide 5: The Ruling Verse. The key parts of the ruling verse that corresponds to that pattern, and how each part fits. However, we must deliberately turn from the idea of a house and apply our thinking to the entirety of the Kingdom.
Slide 6: Key Companion Verses. We will draw from the whole range of the gospel, but in one slide only. We will have to assume the knowledge of these verses so that we can just draw principles and meaning into our small space.
Slide 7: Words & Phrases Related to the Pattern. We want a sense of this pattern in words of both heaven and earth.
Slide 8: How Word Shapes Power. Word and authority shape the Spirit and power flowing through. We want to tie everything from Slides 5-7 into understanding that Power.
From the Old Creation to Love.
Slide 9: In the Old Creation. We give the backdrop of how this pattern is misused in the present world system.
Slide 10: The Unveiling. We overcome “out from” the beast, etc. I see this as a throwing off of the false mind that grips humans in this world. Life is the only thing real; the world-mind that sees good and evil we throw off of the planet.
Slide 11: Our Story of Victory – Just like Jesus. The conversation of the Age of Tabernacles will begin out from the “legends” told by the thousands of individuals who embrace the Victory of God, their stories of Triumph.
Slide 12: Our Story of Love – Just like Jesus. Yet even more, the conversation for centuries will be in awe of the great Love of the Father demonstrated over the next few years.
From Prayer to Standing Firm.
Slide 13: Prayer – God In. The difference between a world of death and a world of life is not acknowledging God versus acknowledging God sharing all with us.
Slide 14: Provision – God Out. How the acknowledgement of God with us causes everything to flow as God intends. We do know the importance of liberty for prosperity, but we know nothing of the abundance flowing out from Rivers of Spirit.
Slide 15: The Person and the People at the Center. How respect is shown to each individual in every land and culture, and how the gathering together is kept healthy and vibrant.
Slide 16: Property – Stand upon Firm. What belongs to each belongs to each in sacred trust. The Kingdom contains no theft of any kind. Each individual and each local community stands firmly upon what belongs to them.
From Participation to Our Conclusion.
Slide 17: Participation – A Shared Life. It is important to me personally, to be valued by other people, but even more important is that what I contribute be valued. Yet for that to work, my contribution and your contribution must entwine.
Slide 18: Governance. Love rules. This is the watch care that goes out over everything, making sure that each is valued, that each is being and doing what means to them.
Slide 19: Designing the Kingdom. We must then attempt to state how this pattern affects how we design the Kingdom.
Slide 20: Conclusion. A conclusion contains two things. It sums everything up briefly, and it leaves the reader with a new thought, of wisdom or insight or beauty.
Those Who Love God. Having explained each of these slides, what it will address, I hope to reduce any “explaining” of that slide in the pattern lesson, but rather, to give the space to that pattern.
The Kingdom of God, “Thy will (desire) be done on earth as it is in heaven,” that is, on earth inside of heaven, is utterly practical, as practical as the construction of a house. The Covenant is not the House of God; it is the blueprint of that House. The Covenant describes God’s dwelling place; the Kingdom makes it real.
Those who love God build God’s House upon this earth, Jerusalem, for that is where God shows Himself to all, that is where God is known is He is. “I will be God inside of them, and they will be a people inside of Me.”
