50. Love One Another

I have known that Hebrews Chapter 3 is the great jeopardy chapter of the New Covenant. Now we are hit with the stunning realization that John 14 is also jeopardy. Live or stay dead.

Running into Jesus is the only option we have. We will not be found anywhere else. But in running into Jesus, we run right into a WALL. Smack – dead in our tracks. “Here is what I am; this is what I must be in you. See your brother, look at your sister. Get real; you don’t like them. BUT! – If you want to be inside of Me, now part of Me, then you WILL Love them just as I Love you. And let Me break it to you, My dear one. You CAN’T. So get over it. God ALONE is the Love you must know.”

Life versus Death. In September of 2011, I received an email throwing at me the image of the “above-you Jesus,” that caused in me such overwhelming distress that I turned it into the great pearl of all that I have written since. If I were able to do such a thing, my reply now could be thus. “Sir, you present to me an image of seeing God through the serpent in the wrong tree, yet you call your image, “Jesus.” I am showing you Jesus as He is, having already entered into union with all that we are, the Tree of Life, the only way by which we must know the Father, yet you call Him false.”

Now, as I am writing this Flow of Gospel Word for John 15 and Ruling Verse 8, I also am writing two lessons in 1 John, “And We Also” and “God Is Love.” The three lessons should be studied together to get the full meaning of Ruling Verse 8.

From Inside of to Love. (Chapter 14) 29 And now I have told you before it happens, that when it happens, you might believe. 30 I will no longer speak much with you; indeed, the ruler of this world comes, yet he possesses nothing inside of Me. 31 But that the world-cosmos might know that I love the Father, and as the Father gives Me word to complete, so I do.

Verse 30 is tied directly with Psalm 22, with 1 John 14:20, with “And We Also,” and with Revelation 12:11, “they loved not their souls to the death – for the sake of the entire Church. Thus we see that Jesus is going directly from John 14:20 to John 15:12. You inside of Me and I inside of you LOVE one another!!! Inside of Jesus, we find one thing only, Christian Community, the Form for God, the revelation of the Father.

The Proof of Love. Then think of these two things together. The world MUST KNOW that Jesus loves the Father. To prove such a thing, we have this Flow, that God gives Word to Jesus, and that Jesus then COMPLETES that Word. Jesus completing His Word in us is the PROOF that Jesus loves the Father. – And we also.

Remember, however, that Jesus cannot complete the Proof the Father requires by Himself, for Jesus cannot make reciprocal Love visible. Neither can He make Himself visible to those who will not believe His Word. Jesus asserted that the works He did proved that He shared all things with God, yet again, no one understands “I inside of the Father and the Father inside of Me.” They cannot see it. To prove God True, Jesus requires the Church.

Bringing Love to Completion. Jesus has given us the metaphor of Himself as the Seed planted in our humanity, bringing us forth just like Himself, but He must show us something further before we can comprehend how that must work. Jesus must show us HOW we NEED Him.

30-31 Ruling Verse 4: Psalm 22 shows us that Jesus endured three temptations of the evil one during His last hours on the cross, accusation against God (You have forsaken Me), against Himself (I am a worm and no man), and against others, (dogs have surrounded Me.) Yet in all, Jesus gave Himself only to the Father for our sakes.

30-31 Kingdom: “That the world might know” is the Kingdom. The world must know that Jesus Loves God. Jesus proves that He does by bringing Love to completion through us.

What Is the Fruit? (Chapter 15) 1 I am the true grapevine, and My Father is the farmer. 2 Every branch inside of Me that does not bear fruit He removes; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, so that it might bear more fruit. • 3 You are already made pure and justly innocent through the word that I have spoken to you. • 4 Dwell inside of Me, and I inside of you. Just as the branch is not capable of bearing fruit of itself, except it be attached to the vine, neither can you, if you do not dwell inside of Me.

The Tree of Life, the true grapevine, Jesus having become His Church, these are all speaking of the same reality. God wants us to comprehend how this all works. Jesus uses the word “fruit” eight times in Chapter 15. The fruit is the main thing, and the fruit of Christ is – loving one another – as the Church together.

The Jeopardy. The metaphor of Jesus being planted into the earth becoming the Church, fits into the metaphor of the vine, the branches, and the fruit as a description of that Church.

5:1-2 Definition: The vine, the branches, and the fruit are a further description of the Church that Jesus, God’s Seed planted, has become. The fruit of Christ is loving one another.

1-4 Paraphrase: Every believer inside of Me who does not love reciprocally will leave the fellowship; and every believer who loves his brethren is pruned, so that he might abound in love. Dwell inside of Me and I inside of you, for you are not capable of loving one another if you do not dwell inside of Me.

3 Ruling Verses 6 & 7: We cannot LOVE of ourselves. Jesus, having carried us into God, has carried us into the Church where we must love one another. This is the jeopardy.

Strive to Enter Rest. I now see how putting Jesus upon ourselves and abiding inside of Him work together as labor and rest. – Strive to enter His rest (Hebrews 4). In writing my life story, I put Jesus upon all, through much travail. That acknowledgement of Jesus with me has brought such incredible peace all through my story of self. This is HOW I am able to give myself to the Father regardless of how I find myself, and because I KNOW that His word spoken into me makes me pure and devoted to God.

4 Definition: Not only is Christ Jesus the Seed of God planted inside of me, but He is also the Flow from God through Me to others, by the Spirit. The Fruit of Christ inside of us is Reciprocal Love, believers in Jesus loving one another, the Proof that Jesus loves the Father.

From Seed to Vine. I have just made this full connection between the parables of Seed and Vine while writing “God Is Love,” covering 1 John 4, and inside the context of that which speaks against Christ.

4 Ruling Verse 10: John 14:20, the Tree of Life, means that there is a Flow of Life and Love coming to us through Jesus that becomes our Love for one another, the fruit of Christ and the proof of God. Jesus prunes us that we might abound in Love.

4 Ruling Verse 6: Having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness and our bodies washed with pure water.

4 Ruling Verse 10: We are already inside of Jesus and He inside of us. “To abide and remain” then means that we acknowledge that it is True inside of all. We CANNOT Love, neither can we keep His Word or do anything God desires. The fruit of loving one another comes ONLY from God through Jesus through us.

The Flow of God. • 5 I am the grapevine; you are the branches. The one who dwells inside of Me and I inside of Him bears much fruit; for apart from Me, you are not capable of doing anything. 6 If anyone does not dwell inside of Me, he is dropped as a branch, and is dried up, and they gather the branches and cast them into the fire to be burned. • 7 If you dwell inside of Me, and My words live and dwell inside of you, then ask whatever you desire, and it will become for you. • 8 In this My Father is glorified, that you should bear much fruit, and so you will be My disciples.

This metaphor of Jesus, vine and branches, illustrates the form for the FLOW that is God, becoming the fruit of God’s Love for one another in our lives. The meaning of everything is that FLOW, the Living and Personal Spirit Word of Life.

The Wrong Issue. Now, John Chapter 15 is a favorite for those who see the entire issue as “who goes to heaven and who goes to hell.” This includes verse 16, “you did not choose Me, but I chose you,” as part of the “predestined” question.

Christian community is LIGHT. People who “just love everybody” in Sunday church do NOT love anyone when pressed into the offensiveness of daily life together.

I know this. “Heaven versus hell, good versus evil, chosen versus not chosen,” these things DRIVE OUT any true concern regarding the Fruit of Christ, which is real Christian love inside daily walking together. “Dries up” is what happens in one who prefers contempt. That one leaves to live a story of self-eating – the fire of hades. (I do not refer to those who leave a community by the Spirit.)

Jesus Through Us. More than that, do you see the great contrast of the false issue against the FLOW of God through His Church into being seen and known as our love for one another? The first is psychotic schizophrenia, the second is Glory.

5-6 Definition & Ruling Verses 5 & 8: The purpose and goal of our union with Christ is that we might bear fruit. That fruit is our Love for one another just as Jesus loves us. The world cannot know that Jesus loves the Father except through our reciprocal Love. We cannot Love except it be Jesus through us.

5-6 Definition: Hades is self coming out from self always gnawing on self “without end.” This is the meaning of “dried up and burned.” Glory is Love coming out from the Father always into our Love for one another. This is the Fruit of Christ, the Proof of God.

Into Christ Community. Ruling Verses 10 & 7: Inside of Jesus inside of us, we have the authority to ask for anything we want, and Jesus will do what we ask. What do you want? How could anyone not WANT Jesus to be all Word Fulfilled inside of them? We want Father at Home in our hearts; we want Jesus to prove Love through us. We ask, and we believe that we have received ALL.

This metaphor of fruit and vine requires us to place our discussion of loving one another into the reality of life together in Community. Ruling Verse 8 is the Church, the final goal of God and salvation.

Ruling Verse 8: The Fruit of Christ Jesus, Jesus as the Seed planted inside of us, is our Love for one another as the Church, as believers in Jesus together. The goal of God and of Salvation is the Church, Christ Community.

The Purpose of Word. • 9 Just as the Father has loved Me, so I also have loved you; dwell inside of My love. 10 If you keep My word to full completion, you will dwell inside of My love, just as I have kept My Fathers word to full completion and dwell inside of His love. • 11 I have spoken these things to you so that My joy might be inside of you, and that your joy might be filled full and complete.

John is a circular thinker, in part; thus as Jesus speaks through John, He circles back again to ensure that we KNOW what He means when He speaks Ruling Verse 8.

9-10 Ruling Verse 10: Dwelling with Jesus inside of the Father means that we are found inside the embrace of Their Love for One Another. The purpose of Word planted as Seed inside of us is that we might know and experience such Love.

Determination. We must reckon with the Determination inside of Jesus, almost, but not quite bordering on desperation, when He says the words “This is My Full Completion” in verse 12. “I CANNOT prove that I love the Father except by your love for one another, Love that Flows ONLY out from Me through you.”

9-10 Covenant: The Fruit that God requires comes only out from Jesus inside of us, imparting to us the fulfillment of every Word God speaks, making us to be just like Himself. Jesus inside of us, as our Covenant Bond with God, is filled with all determined urgency that we would be God’s Proof.

11 Kingdom: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11). The JOY of Jesus becomes complete and full as our JOY inside of God now and forever.

Framing the Gospel Comments. Jesus moves directly from the illustration of vine and branches, of abiding inside of Jesus and His Word abiding inside of us, of the FLOW of God becoming the fruit of His glory revealed – TO – Ruling Verse 8, this is My full completion.

Now, I hope to complete (almost) the lesson titled “God Is Love,” covering 1 John 4 to 5:2, before I fill in the Gospel Comments in this lesson for Ruling Verse 8. And I intend to write the Gospel Comments for 1 John 3:16 in the lesson, “And We Also,” at the same time as writing these, going back and forth. This means that the explanations for many of the thoughts going into writing these Gospel Comments will be found in those two other lessons. For that reason, you would be well-served to study all three together.

Ruling Verse 8: Love One Another. • 12 This is My full completion, that you love one another in full reciprocity just exactly as I have loved you. • 13 No one has greater love than this, that he should set forth his soul for the sake of his friends. (With 1 John 3:16, By this we have known love, because He set forth his soul, His story of self, for us, for our sakes; and we also are committed to setting forth our souls for the sake of our brothers and sisters.)

We now come to sharing Hheart with God, the Fruit of the Christian life, the Completion of Jesus. In fact, “love one another in full reciprocity just exactly as I love you” is the ONLY visibility of God, the outward form of His dwelling place, His True appearance inside of creation.

Father at Home in my heart becomes Father at Home in His Church. This Flow is absolute and continuous. We are going deep and ever deeper into being just like Jesus inside the core of the Lamb-Slain and alive forevermore.

Expanded and Personal. This is My full completion, My commandment entering into you to prove My love for God, that you love one another in full reciprocity just exactly as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that he should set forth his soul for the sake of his friends. You are My friends. (Enter My soul upon the cross, with David in Psalm 22. There see My agony shared with you as I joined you with God inside the offering of My soul.) – By this we know love, in knowing the full meaning of Jesus setting forth His Soul, His Story of Self, in offering to God for us, for our sakes, and we also are committed to setting forth our souls for our brothers and sisters. We are the same as Jesus, God offers us as His sons for the sake of others. We share Hheart with God.

Christ Made Personal: I love you just as Jesus loves me, and I receive your love for me as Jesus Himself. I set forth my soul for you, for your sake, just as Jesus does.

Defining the Rule. Everything of Covenant is inside of us through faith, that it is already complete. Everything God wants out from us is found inside of one thing only – loving one another as His Home.

Defining the Rule: God is Love. And God is known inside of creation as believers in Jesus loving one another as Jesus loves us. That Love is the Father Himself as all our connections and interactions together. There is no other God, no other love, no other Church. Jesus came to prove to all that He loves the Father. He can do such a thing only through our Love for one another, the Completion of Jesus Himself inside of us. We are never more like Jesus than when we set forth our souls for one another, when we give ourselves to the Father, inside all our human agony, that each one whom He brings to us might be joined together with the Father through our offering.

Life and Covenant. Life: God is Love, and Life is purposeful movement within and without. That purpose is Love, and Love is the outworking. Life, both animation within and daily life without is the carrying and the display of God-Love, the Father made known.

Covenant: A Covenant is a binding agreement between two for specific purposes, that is, to fulfill the desire of each party. God WANTS to be seen and known as Love inside of creation. He entered into Covenant with us His Church that He might have a people who would reveal Him as their love for one another.

Speak Christ: This time, speaking Christ is something we do together, in acknowledging together that God is all our interactions together, that God is, in fact, Love always flowing through every part of our daily life together.

Symmorphosed and Filled! Ruling Verse 1: Ruling Verse 8, Love One Another, is an expansion of the words prototokos adelphois in Romans 8:29, many brethren together, just like Jesus. Many brethren like Jesus is the Church as Christ Community. “The firstborn of many brethren” is related to “the image of His Son” as the actual construction of a building, the House for God, is related to the blueprints followed by those who build the House.

Ruling Verse 2: The words “The surpassing, beyond-all knowledge of the love of Christ” in Ephesians 3:19 is not knowing a one-way flow of love from Jesus to us. Rather, it is knowing the reciprocal Love of Jesus shared together in Christ Community, the Final and FULL completion of Jesus. This reciprocal Love together which we have come to know is the HOUSE which God fills with all of His fulness.

From Rivers to Intimacy. Ruling Verse 3: The Love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Devoted Spirit given freely to us (see Romans 5:5). The Spirit is the energeoing of Love and its sending forth. Rivers of Spirit are rivers of Life carrying Love.

Ruling Verse 4: Love gives itself for the sake of others. Love costs everything and wins all. 1 John 3:16 is the heart and the completion of Revelation 12:11 – for the sake of the Church. 1 John 3:16 turns us around upon Mercy, and points us to the Church, that we might give ourselves to God for her sake.

Ruling Verse 5: Union with Christ becomes fellowship with one another. As the knowing of union deepens, so also does the experience of fellowship. The heart of union, the heart of fellowship, is friendship. Greater Love is God’s own intimacy as the intimacy of our daily and anxious caring for one another.

From Boldness to Love. Ruling Verse 6: The focus and purpose of Hebrews 8-12, including the Covenant, including Hebrews 10:19-22, is that God offers us as His sons for the sake of others.

Ruling Verse 7: The focus and purpose of Hebrews 1-7, including Hebrews 3:6 & 14, the jeopardy of the Gospel, is that God offers us as His sons for the sake of others – into the city of the living God (see Hebrews 12:7 & 22).

Ruling Verse 8: Compare all the Gospel Comments in The Flow of Gospel Word for John Chapter 15 and 1 John Chapters 3 & 4. Love flows out from God to become our love for one another. The Completion of Christ Jesus becomes clearly defined, placed as the Heart of everything, you and me sharing Hheart with God. The intention of God in every other Ruling Thought, then, is this Love as God made visible.

The Rock and the Fire. Ruling Verse 9: Ruling Verse 9 is our ministry to all creation. Ruling Verse 8, sharing Hheart with God, sharing propitiation with Jesus, is the meaning of that ministry forever. This makes our reciprocal love as Christians together, inside of daily commitment, to be the Source of all the knowledge of God going forth into all, bringing all into a World of Life.

Ruling Verse 10: We put Jesus upon ourselves so that we might place Him upon His entire Church. Out from setting forth our souls for one another, we enclothe all who call upon Jesus with Fire, with the revelation of Jesus Christ. Knowing that we are inside of Jesus and He inside of us, inside the embrace of Father and Son, is for PURPOSE. And that Purpose is Life, it is all creation seeing and knowing God as He is. God made visible is one thing only, our Love for each other.

The Kingdom as Father Made Known. Kingdom: “By this we know Love” is Covenant. “And we also” is the going forth of Love, that is, the Kingdom. That “going forth,” however, does not come out of “big things.” It comes always out from the “littleness” of giving ourselves to the Father, even all our convoluting humanity, for the sake of others, just as Jesus did. Thus it is our human expression that shapes the visibility of the Father just being Himself.

The Form for God through Jesus: Read the Gospel Comments for 1 John 4, and the Flow of Gospel Word, “God Is Love.” “You will be a people inside of Me, and I will be God inside of you,” the Covenant, the desire of God, and the place of Love. The Gospel becomes the Church. The fulness and completion of Christ Jesus is Christian Community. God is known ONLY through our Love for one another, the dwelling place of God forever.

Friendship. 14 You are My friends, if you do what I speak into you. • 15 I no longer call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. But you I have called beloved friends, for all that I have heard in the presence of My Father, I have made known to you. – It is an extraordinary thing that friendship is next in the Flow.

Definition and Ruling Verse 5: We share Spirit with Jesus, we share flesh with Jesus, but fellowship of soul, Jesus with me, is the beating heart of union. That fellowship of soul is all the deepest meanings of friendship. Friendship is God.

Covenant: “All that I hear in the presence of My Father I speak into you, written as Me inside your heart.” “All that I hear.” This is the meaning of Friendship; it is sharing Jesus, sharing Hheart, with God.

The Flow through Again. • 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you for Myself, and I set you forth and established you, that you should be led forward, that you should bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you might ask the Father inside of My name, He would give it to you.

Predestined to heaven or to hell” eviscerates God’s meaning in everything and sets aside the True as inconsequential.

We understand everything in this verse in terms of Seed, Plant, and Fruit, and the FLOW inside of those things. Word is spoken into us, becoming us, until we are just like Jesus. Jesus comes through the Church to become Father revealed. “To be led forward” and age-unfolding life are the same thing, every next step shared with God. Yet it begins with “You can do nothing of yourself,” not even to choose Me.

Running While Being Carried. A True response to “you cannot even choose Me” is a RUN into no sufficiency in self, but all sufficiency in God. It is found in the words, “Look at me God, I belong to you.” I think we need three Ruling Verses together to capture the essence of John 15:16. We “run” into all sufficiency in God as Jesus carries us inside of no sufficiency in ourselves.

Ruling Verses 1, 8, & 7: God made us as we are, incapable, even, of choosing Him. There is no boasting in ourselves. Rather, when God summons us into Himself, we run into Him, into all-sufficiency in God, casting ourselves utterly into His own Pro-Determination. We do NOT fix ourselves. – “Look at me God, I belong to You.” This God into whom Jesus has carried us then spins us around. “There are your brothers and sisters; your purpose, your fruit, My proof made visible through you, is to Love them even as they Love you.

Ask for Such Love. Ask of Me for such Love, and for such giving. Ask of Me all Word fulfilled inside of You. You have received Me, and I have established you.”

Now you must go to the Flow of Gospel Word through 1 John 3-5 in order to find the full conclusion to John 15. I would suggest that you study back and forth between lessons 50, Love One Another, 55, And We Also, and 56, God Is Love. We must know the meaning of God-Love. To be honest with you, writing “God Is Love” has given me definitions of God and of Love beyond what I have had before. The concept of “Love,” like the concept of “Spirit,” is vague. We must understand Love as the Flow out from God AND returning to Him.

We love one another out from God loving us.

Let’s Pray Together. “God, our Father, You love us. We rest inside of Your Love. And You have saved us, Oh God, inside the embrace of Your Love for Jesus and His for You. We are the completion of that wondrous Love.

“Father, You ask us to ask. We ask this of You, Father, that You would cause us to know and to be that great Love for Your Church, for Your people now across the earth, now in this hour of the Unveiling of Your Son. Father, You have seized us into Yourself; You have turned us around upon Mercy. Be ALL God-Love through us now for the sake of our brothers and sisters, all who call upon You.

“Look at us, oh God, for we belong utterly to You. Be God through us now into our world, inside of Jesus’ name now ours.
