The Flow of Gospel Word
The Word of God is Living and Energeoing.I just added the word “continuously” to John 1:3 - “All through Him continuously become, and without Him not even one thing becomes that has become.” This is an accurate translation of the meaning. Hebrews 1:3, “sustaining all things by His power-filled Word” is also continuous and ongoing.
Word is Jesus; Word is Life; and Word is the continuous and reciprocal Flow from God to us and from us to God.
The word FLOW is the best word to describe the actions of the metaphors of electricity, wind, and water. It is the best word to describe the action of the River of Life in Revelation 22 and John 7, the flow of Golden Oil into the Church in Zechariah 4, and the fiery stream coming out from a fiery throne in Daniel 7. All these pictures are of the same thing, this Flow of Gospel Word, of Personal, Living, Energeoing, Life-Giving Word from God into us.
More than that, the Flow of Gospel Word occurs historically. Consider the Word available to Abraham and the Word available to the sons of God now in the completion of the age. It is the SAME word, but the scope and power today is far more. Yet what we receive from God today could not exist if Abraham had not received the same word coming to him in his today.
There is a quality of the entrance of Word into the human experience over time that is of great meaning to us. As I have placed Paul’s letters in the order in which he wrote them, for instance, I see a movement of thought in POWER proceeding from one to the next.
This Flow of Gospel Word coming from God now to us is Jesus, and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever known or heard tell.

Gospel Comments:
A significant part of The Open Scroll is the Gospel Comments added beneath the text, comments on many of the verses that are Gospel Word. I am writing these comments out from knowing Paul’s Gospel of the Unveiling of Jesus Christ inside the power and causation of the Spirit.
In his second letter to Timothy, 2:15, Paul said, “Cutting straight the Word of Truth.” This “cutting straight” must begin with 1 Corinthians 2:12. We have received the Spirit out from God that we might know – God and His Word.
“Cutting straight” then must proceed through 2 Corinthians 3:5. Not of letter, but of Spirit; indeed, letter kills, but Spirit gives Life. And is then best expressed by John 6:63. It is the Spirit that gives Life, the [intellectual mind of the] flesh benefits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are Life.
In other words, “cuitting straight the Word of Truth” has nothing to do with human mental abilities, but rather comes of knowing the Gospel of Life out from the Spirit.
For lack of a better term, I will use the word “categories” to reference the differing types of Gospel Word as they all flow together. I begin with three larger “groupings of categories.” The first grouping is called “LIFE,” for indeed all Gospel Verses are the Gospel of Life and all can be found inside of that heading.
The second grouping of “categories” of Gospel Word is “The Ten Ruling Verses of the Gospel.” This grouping is not set against the first, but is, rather, a slightly different way of seeing the same Truths.
Finally, the third grouping has only one category in it, and that is “Definitions.” The human mind is not left out of the Gospel, for when our human intellect is subject to the gentle knowing of the Spirit, it is the mind of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 2:16). We can know the Word of Truth only when we have God’s definitions in our minds, and God’s definitions can come to us only out from the immediate context of what God actually says in the Gospel and only by the Spirit.
But before I begin an explanation of the various categories of Gospel Word, we must answer the question – What is a Gospel Verse? – as in distinction to other types of verses.
I want to give several answers to the question – What is a Gospel Verse? – answers that are just different ways of seeing the same answer. The first answer must be very short. – A Gospel Verse is Jesus.
A Gospel Verse is Jesus Himself in Person as every Word God speaks, the All-Speaking of God. – A Gospel Verse is Jesus Himself in Person now written upon our hearts of flesh by the Spirit, as every Word God speaks fulfilled. – A Gospel Verse is Jesus Himself in Person sent into us that we might know the Father, which is age-unfolding LIFE.
You can see that, in beginning with Jesus, a Gospel Verse is that which increases in our knowing in ever-widening scope, God brand-new every morning forever (see Lamentations 3:22-23).
Now, with our mental understanding in service to the Spirit flowing through, we can determine several different kinds of verses in the Bible, Old Testament and New. And when I use the word “verse” in this context, I am not referring to the numbered list imposed on Scripture by a man riding in a carriage from Paris to Geneva. Rather, I mean a complete thought, in one way or another, a thought that can be part of a listed verse or that can include several “verses.”
In the New Testament, besides direct Gospel Verses such as 2 Corinthians 3:3 and 3:18, for instance, there are narrative verses, prophetic and metaphorical verses, and lines that serve only to connect differing thoughts. Then there are verses that are not God speaking, verses such as 1 Corinthians 14:34, in which Paul quotes Sophocles. We do not know why Paul quoted Sophocles, but we do not receive words written by a priest of pagan worship. These strange verses are mostly from Paul, though not limited exclusively to him.
For the Old Testament, when we use the term “Gospel Verses,” we are able to receive many wondrous verses as the Power of the Lord Jesus written upon our hearts. Yet the Old Testament also contains many anti-Gospel verses, the strongest of which Paul quotes in Galatians 3, which is Leviticus 18:5. “The one who does these things will live inside of them.”
We notice this of both Paul and Jesus, that when they quote the Old Testament, they pull in only positive verses, verses of Life, except those few times when they want to show that which is anti-Gospel, and they ignore all the negative verses. Yet all the negative verses of the Bible serve a great purpose, for they show us our guilt and bring us immediately to the silence of the Cross, that we might know only Jesus.
Finally, many narrative verses and many metaphorical verses, Old Testament and New, can become Gospel Verses, that is, Jesus written upon our hearts, when they come into us by the Spirit and are governed by Paul’s Gospel confirmed by John.
Here is an example, Exodus 25:21-22. “You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything.” I cannot read these words apart from the tears of Joy that are Jesus singing in my heart, for I know them by the Spirit through the Gospel.
We must consider one more thing before looking at the various “categories” that I use in describing the Gospel Verses, and that is a quote from Ezra, from Psalm 119:11. “Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You.”
Many “Bible readers” approach the Bible with their intellects in order to “figure out” what God means, so that they can know what is right and what is wrong, so that they can know what to do. As Paul said, this way of thinking is at war against God, it is SIN.
We NEVER EVER do such a wicked thing. Yet we begin our Bible careers without understanding much of anything. So what do we do in order to avoid such disrespect of God? Ezra tells us what we do, we hide God’s word in our hearts, not needing to know what it means, but needing to know God our Father.
And we say to every word God speaks, “Look at me, God, I belong to You. Let it be to me according to what You mean by what You actually say” (Luke 1:38 – paraphrased).
“Categories” of Gospel Word:
One could reasonably say that all Gospel Verses fit all of the categories in one way or another. When I choose a category for the comment on a particular verse, I am reaching for what seems best for that verse inside the overall flow of the text. Other categories might serve just as well for commenting on each verse.
Let’s begin with the overall category of “Life.” Although all Gospel Verses fit into “Life,” there are a number of verses that are focused on the generation and meaning of Life itself, how Life is planted inside of us and how Life is birthed out from us into our world.
All Gospel Verses then fit into two large categories inside of God’s meaning, “Covenant” and “Kingdom.” Covenant is Word inside of us connecting us with God, and Kingdom is Spirit flowing out from us impacting our world. Covenant is always bringing forth Kingdom, and Kingdom is always coming out from Covenant.
Inside of Covenant, we find a special category that must be emphasized, and that is, “Speak Christ.” Our having entered into a Blood Covenant with God cannot do us much good if we do not make that Covenant personal to ourselves. We truly know Christ Jesus Sent into us only as we speak His same Word made personal as us. Verses found in this category are much more frequent than some might suppose.
Inside of Kingdom, we find a special category that must be emphasized, and that is, “The Form for God through Jesus.” God’s desire is to have a form for Himself inside of creation, so that all creation can know their God as Love among them. That form is the Body of Christ, the House of God, the Church, brethren walking together, loving one another with pure hearts fervently. We also find that the Eleventh and Twelfth Ruling Verses of the Bible, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 and Ephesians 2:19-22 are the best descriptions of the Form for God through Jesus.
The Ten Ruling Verses of the Bible, then, are not a separate “category.”’ Rather, they are another way to view the same things as found in Covenant and Kingdom inside of LIFE. More than that, we find that these Ten Ruling “Verses” are not imposed from above, but rather they are the deep thoughts found in the heart-gut thinking of every Gospel writer, deep definitions that show themselves over and over, worded in differing ways each time.
In selecting “Ten Ruling Verses,” we do nothing more than select the best and most complete way each of those thoughts happen to be worded. In fact, with this way of thinking, it is easy to see that Peter and James wrote from the same knowledge of LIFE out from which Paul and John were also writing. In fact, Moses and David, etc., also wrote out from these same core definitions of God’s Salvation.
We also find that the Ruling Verses of the Bible are the central points towards which each Bible writer is driving, and the foundational thoughts out from which comes everything that follows. You cannot know Galatians apart from Galatians 2:20, you cannot know Romans without Romans 8:28-30 at it’s heart, and you cannot know Hebrews apart from connecting the Day of Atonement as well as David with Hebrews 10:19-22. More than that, you cannot know God or the Bible apart from John 14:20, John 17:3, and Romans 13:14 always together.
As you study the Jesus Secret Version of Gospel Verses, you will find that these overall categories, Life-Covenant-Kingdom set alongside the Ten Ruling Verses, tie everything together into one Word, one glorious Flow of Gospel Word. Every Bible Verse becomes Jesus Himself inside of us, written upon our hearts as every Word God speaks already fulfilled.
The Ruling Verses:
Placing the Ruling Verses into this study and writing them as Gospel Comments throughout the New Testament has given us a view of them as far greater and more consequential than we have known thus far. If I write another explanation of “The Ruling Verses of the Bible” in the future, I will put together all the Gospel Verses and Comments for each one. In this way, our understanding of these Ruling Thoughts of God will increase tremendously and with overflowing Joy.
I have added a two-page spread for each of the twelve Ruling Verses, along with the Covenant (Hebrews 8), the Ekenosis (Kingdom - Philippians 2), and bringing forth LIFE (Revelation 12:1-5). In each two-page spread, are all fifteen “categories” of Gospel Comments on that one passage.
Let me give those fifteen now as God’s Ruling Thoughts towards us, the things of God pertaining to us flowing into the human experience through all. I am putting them into a unique order.
Ruling Verse 1: Romans 8:28-30
The entirety of God and His Purpose is found in this set of verses, with being already symmorphosed with Jesus at its heart. Symmorphosed means sharing form with Jesus; image means God revealed as Love. Purpose is God and us together making all things good, and already glorified means everything is finished before anything begins.
As God’s Thoughts: I share your life with you in every moment inside of Jesus sharing all form with you. We do everything together, and have done so from the start. I am symmorphosed with you. You are My Glory; you reveal Me as Love to all.
Ruling Verse 2: Ephesians 3:17-19
We are designed to contain all that is God. Jesus lives in our hearts inside of Love for that very purpose.
As God’s Thoughts: I have sent Jesus into your heart so that you will know how much I love you. As you comprehend Me together with your brethren, and as you love with Jesus’ beyond-all Love, so I fill you with all that I am.
Covenant: Hebrews 8:7-12
The Covenant God has entered into with us is clear and specific. It is a Blood Covenant that joins all that is God with all that we are. The Covenant shows us what God wants. God wants Jesus proven as every Word He speaks written upon our hearts. God wants a people in whom to dwell.
As God’s Thoughts: Jesus in your heart is written there as every Gospel Word that I speak, joining you always with Me and Me with you. I dwell among you and your brethren together and you dwell inside of Me. We are bound together by Covenant Bond in all.
Ruling Verse 10: John 14:20, 15:4, 17:3, & Romans 13:14
This is the Tree of Life, the only definition of age-unfolding Life in the Bible. We live inside of Jesus who lives inside of us. We know the Father through knowing Jesus Sent into us. We remain always inside of Jesus; we put the Lord Jesus Christ upon ourselves.
As God’s Thoughts: You know Me as I know you, for you know Jesus inside of whom I dwell. You know that I am inside of Jesus inside of you and that you are inside of Jesus inside of Me. I have already enclothed you with the Lord Jesus Christ; put Him upon all that you are.
Ruling Verse 3: John 7:37-39 & 6:63
We are designed by God to reveal God to all. Rivers of Life flow out from our hearts into all creation. We know God only by the Spirit.
As God’s Thoughts: I have given you My Devoted Spirit to be part of you, that you might know Me. As you and I walk together as one, as you drink of My Spirit inside of Jesus, so Rivers of Spirit are always flowing out from you, bringing life to all.
Ruling Verse 4: Revelation 12:10-11
Our task is to cast down all that speaks against the good-speaking of Jesus, to enclothe all our brethren with Jesus. We do so by giving ourselves just like Jesus. The Kingdom, God just being Himself inside creation, is now come through us.
As God’s Thoughts: As you give Me all that you are, as you are, then you and I together cast down all accusation being spoken against all who belong to Us. We enclothe the Church with Jesus. We travail in all for her.
Bring Forth Life: Revelation 12:1-5
We travail with God’s Spirit as His Church, that we might bring forth the knowledge of God into the knowledge of all. Being seized into God and into His throne is the normal Christian life.
As God’s Thoughts: I have made you part of that Church in whom My Son and I dwell. As you travail with Me, in spite of your weakness and in the face of all opposition, so we together bring forth life into the world. I have already seized you into Myself and into My Mercy Seat.
Ruling Verse 5: Galatians 2:20
Jesus is our Life. We do not know our death, accomplished long ago, for we know only Jesus Himself having come into union with us first. The cross now protects our precious intimacy with the Lord Jesus.
As God’s Thoughts: Just as Jesus has come into intimate union with you first, so also have I, for I am inside of Jesus, and We do all things together. You live inside the fellowship I enjoy with Jesus. You now share that same fellowship with Us.
Ruling Verse 6: Hebrews 10:19-22
Jesus is our Way into God. We dwell only inside of God without consciousness of any sins, carried there already by Jesus. We apprehend all that is God in our knowing.
As God’s Thoughts: Jesus has already brought you fully into Me, through His Blood and His flesh. You are already pure and devoted to Me. Approach with boldness everything I am and make Me your own. You know that I have already turned you around.
Ruling Verse 7: Hebrews 3:6 & 14 & 2 Corinthians 2:14
We walk every moment in the full confidence that we are part of Christ, and that God shares our lives and every next step with us. We give thanks in all; we speak only the Truth of Jesus with us.
As God’s Thoughts: As we share life together, so you and I take every next step in full confidence of faith in Jesus, knowing that He always energeoes us together. You believe My word. You give thanks in all. We celebrate all Victory together.
Ruling Verse 8: John 15:12-13 & 1 John 3:16
We love all who belong to Jesus, God as Love through us. We give ourselves to the Father for the sake of our brothers and sisters.
As God’s Thoughts: You share Hheart with Me and I share Hheart with you. I am the Love inside of you towards your brethren, and I am the Love coming to you from them. Just as Jesus gave Himself for you, so you also give yourself to Me for the sake of your brothers and sisters.
Kingdom (Ekenosis): Philippians 2:5-8
We possess the same thinking of Jesus. In every step, we call God into our world, coming in our human appearance, even as we humble ourselves with the Father for the sake of others.
As God’s Thoughts: As you humble yourself inside of Love, inside of Me, as you acknowledge My Love always coming through you, so I make myself known to all as Christian Love. I reveal Myself, even through your flesh.
Ruling Verse 9: Romans 8:19-23
We are sent by God; we return with Jesus carrying all inside our hearts. We set creation free, our ministry forever.
As God’s Thoughts: Our travail for the Church and for creation is very great, yet we share it together. Our Love prevails. As all creation sees My joy through you, so they are set free into knowing Me.
The Form for Jesus (Ruling Verse 11): 1 Corinthians 12:12-14
Christ is a many-membered body. We drink together of one Spirit with all who believe into Jesus. Together, we are the only form of Jesus.
As God’s Thoughts: As you gather together with your local fellowship, so Jesus dwells in your midst. Together, you are His form inside all heaven-earth forever. Your care for one another is Jesus revealed. Your shared Spirit is My own.
The Form for God (Ruling Verse 12): Ephesians 2:19-22
Jesus has built us together inside of Himself as God’s dwelling place forever, by the Spirit. God possesses His Desire now, for we are a people together inside of God and God is God inside of us.
As God’s Thoughts: I have built you and your brethren together as My dwelling place. I come to My Church to fill her with My glory, with all that I am now made known. I am at Home inside of you and inside your Community together, and you are at Home inside of Me. All My Desire is now filled full.
God’s Word is True. These things are how He thinks.
Understand this. We must have specific, even “dictionary” definitions of the rules of how we are to think about God, about ourselves, and about Salvation, Yet at the same time, we MUST know the Personal-ness of God our Father coming through those same meanings.
The Flow of Gospel Word:
As part of The Open Scroll, I have set the various books of the New Testament into groupings of from one to three. For instance, Galatians and Romans were written almost together, with the same burning passion in Paul to express what he had called “My gospel.” In Volume II, however, I split John and Revelation into two parts to manage their length.
In the introduction to each set of letters, I have a description of “the flow of Gospel Word.” I have come to understand just how important it is for us to know the Gospel as it really is, out from that flow of the Spirit into the knowledge of humans on this earth over time. For instance, we understand Romans only out from what Paul had already established in Galatians first. And we understand each part of each letter only out from the flow from one thought of God to the next.
In the introduction to each letter or group of letters, I include a brief summary of the flow of Gospel word through that portion of Scripture. The writers in every instance have a main point towards which or out from which they are writing. Often, in the larger books, there are two or three main points. If we as readers do not keep those main points in our minds, we cannot really know the purpose or meaning of everything else.
Yet in the short summary of that flow of Gospel Word, we recognize that the Spirit of God and the soul of the writer are joined together in the same purpose and that what we are perceiving is the Flow of Living Spirit Word out from our Father. Indeed this very flow of Gospel Word is pictured as the flow of golden oil in Zechariah, the flow of rivers of fire out from the throne in Daniel, and the flow of the River of Life in Ezekiel and Revelation. Nothing is more important to God than this Gospel Word He has sent as Jesus into us.
