2 - 3 John

2 John
1:The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love inside of truth, and not I only, but also all those who have known the truth, 2 through the truth that lives and remains inside of us and that will be actively with us into the age. 3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us in intimate participation with God the Father and in intimate participation with Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, inside of truth and love.

4 I rejoiced exceedingly because I have learned of your children walking inside of truth, just as we received full completion in intimate participation with the Father. 5 And now I implore you, lady, not as if I am writing a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the start, that we should love one another. 6 And this is love, that we should walk according to His full completion. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the start, so that you should walk inside of it.

7 For many who lead astray have entered into the world-cosmos, those who do not speak the same word of Jesus Christ presently come {a the action of an all-here-now Christ Jesus} inside of flesh. This is the one who leads astray and the one who speaks contrary to Christ. 8 Watch yourselves, so that you should not lose the things we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. 9 Anyone going on [into other things] and not living and remaining inside of the teaching of Christ, does not possess God. The one who lives and remains inside of the teaching, this one possesses both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you not carrying this teaching, do not receive him into the house, and do not greet him. 11 For the one greeting him shares in his malicious and miserable works.

12 Having many things to write to you, I purposed not to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you and speak with you in direct conversation, so that our joy may be completed. 13 The children of your chosen sister greet you. Let it be so.

3 John
1:1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love inside of truth. 2 Beloved, I pray that in all things you would journey well and prosperously and be wholesome and of good health, just as your soul journeys well and prosperously. 3 For I rejoiced exceedingly when brothers came and testified of your truth, just as you are walking inside of truth. 4 I have no greater joy that that I should hear of my children walking inside of the truth.

5 Beloved, you are doing everything faithfully toward your brothers and sisters and even towards those who are strangers, 6 for they have testified of your love in the presence of the church, whom you do well to send forth equipped in a manner worthy of God. 7 For the sake of His name they went forth, receiving nothing from the ethnic peoples. 8 We therefore ought to receive and assist such brethren, so that we may be fellow workers in the truth.

9 I have written to the church; but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, does not welcome or accept us as true. 10 Because of this, if I do come, I will bring to his attention the works which he is doing, evil words speaking nonsense against us; and not being satisfied just with speaking words, he not only refuses to receive the brethren, but he even forbids those who intend to do so and he casts them out of the church. 11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one doing good is out from God; the one doing evil has not perceived or experienced God. 12 I say to Demetrius, witness has been given by all and by the truth itself, and we also bear witness, and you are aware that our testimony is true.

13 I had many things to write to you, but I don’t want to write with pen and ink. 14 I hope, however, to see you soon, and we will converse together. Peace to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
