37. The Mother of Us All

Human faith is the only element in the universe through which God can know the deepest desire of His heart, the desire that has cost Him everything. Human faith is Christ as us. Human faith is our consent. The Holy Spirit is not the mother of us all. The Christian church is not the mother of us all. The mother of us all, the New Jerusalem, is the perfect union in all ways of Spirit and Bride, Bride and Spirit. The New Jerusalem is Christian communities scattered across the whole earth.

© Daniel Yordy - 2013

In response to my last letter, a reader asked me about the phrase in Galatians in which Paul calls the Jerusalem which is from above, – “the mother of us all.”

My initial thought was simply those things I have taught concerning the female seed, faith, that receives into itself the male seed, the Word God speaks, and brings forth the life of that Word revealed in mortal flesh.  However, that thought was purely mental and as I took those words, “the mother of us all” over my last letter, “The New Jerusalem,” I found those words pregnant with the Spirit of God hovering over everything I had written.

I do not know what they mean; but I have stopped seeing anything but God in my life, directing all my ways. Therefore it is God through my brother asking me, “Daniel, what about 'the mother of us all'?”

Here is what I said in my last letter.

Only a woman can bring forth life.

Here is the secret. God is as much female as He is male. It is God who is in travail. It is God who is giving birth, making Himself visible through us to all creation. When we scream to give birth, we are simply manifesting the reality of God.

How is it that God screams in travail?

The pain of creation is the pain of God's heart. It is He who wants to be seen, to be known, to be handled. It is He who longs to be visible. It is He who desires to be known in gentle tenderness in the heart of each created being in heaven and in earth. God's desire is the power of the universe.

When we see God in everything, sustaining all, carrying all, when we look at ourselves and see God in all fullness filling us full and flowing out from us, it's not us asking the question – Why God, does creation still not know You? – It's God asking that question with all the pathos of His heart.

Let's get down to the brass tacks. I sat in a college classroom on poetry, enjoying and participating in the discussion. Then the professor introduced a poem on the sorrow of the inevitability of death. The other students responded with a mani-faceted discussion, but I kept my mouth shut. The poem invoked in me an entirely different response. I heard them, regardless of their stance, weeping against death. All they can know is that death is only natural. Yet their every instinct cries against it as evil and unnatural.

How could I say that my entire life is devoted to the defeat of death and to its removal from the human experience? I was sitting in a very “real” group of intelligent minds. What do I have to show for my calling? What proof do I have in even contemplating what God actually says in the New Covenant.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

It is no wonder that all Christianity has rejected absolutely God's definition of Salvation in the New Testament and replaced it with the gross unbelief, the made-up nonsense that Salvation means “go to” heaven after death has defeated you. There is no evidence, if we take God's words seriously, that God is NOT absent from the earth, and NOT derelict in His claims.

Look at this word in Romans 8:11 and those others through the heart of the New Covenant just like this. From the age of 21, I have known faith in these words. I have shouted them together with hundreds of other believers in full-victory power under an anointing threatening to blow off the roof above us. I have believed in them all my adult life, in waiting expectation upon God, contending with Him concerning His oath.

And I have never known or experienced one ounce of their reality – ever. Does God really exist, after all?

The answer of unbelief says, “Well, God has a set day and it doesn't matter how much you 'believe,' it ain't gonna' happen until God decides it's gonna' happen.” aka the Nicene Creed, the Nicolaitan Christ.

The whole purpose of the Nicene Creed is to allow us to be “Christians” while embracing the full reality that God DOES NOT DO WHAT HE SAYS!!!

Had I said in that college classroom, “Death is over-rated. I possess the defeat of death inside of me, and I will defeat it,” they would have known immediately that I am insane, and I would have agreed fully with them.

The brass tacks. The bottom line. Death IS Goliath, and all the church of Christ cowers before it.

Yes, God has a set time. Jesus said, “No man knows the day or the hour.” But we MUST take into ourselves every word Jesus spoke during His ministry ONLY through Paul's gospel. Paul's gospel is clear on the set DAY of the revelation of Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of all things spoken by God. TODAY is the acceptable time – NOW is the Day of Salvation.

And so the poem on the inevitability of death and the travail of sorrow it evoked in every differing reaction caused one thought alone inside of me. “God, what do we do about this?”

All Love – All Power. If God is both, how does the horror of death and all the cruelty and abuse flowing out from it just continue on right on?

If we are nothing more than a chance chemical reaction, then how could we possibly be repelled by the evil that death is? The strongest testimony of the reality of God in the earth is shown by the travail of sorrow over death.

A while back, Chris Welch posted a comment of mine on Facebook that included these words, “God has a problem.” He received the typical response that must come back out of all Nicene thinking.“God ain't got no problems,” stated with all the certainty of one who has never considered God or what He actually says.

But look at the biggest question ruling the hearts of Jesus and His Father right now. “When the Son of Man returns, will He find faith in the earth?”

God has a problem. All reality as it exists in both heaven and earth is exactly the way it is for one reason alone. God has a problem, and this is the only way He can solve His problem.

Here is God's problem. Whatever is not of faith is sin.

God cannot do many, many things. God cannot sin. God cannot do anything that does not come through faith. God cannot fix the earth by His power because He cannot sin. The only entrance of God must be through faith.

Faith is the female part of God. Only a woman can bring forth life. Jesus entered creation only through Mary's words, “Let it be to me according to Your word.”

Here is the question imposing itself on us. Is creation the female of God?

Take the words “the mother of us all,” and draw them through the quote from my last letter indented just above. You can see why  we want very much to say, “I don't know what those words mean.” Is creation the female of God?

I just posted this bit from my booklet, The Ten Most Important Verses in the Bible, onto Facebook.

The entire creation, both heaven and earth, labors under the darkness of the curse, the vanity of not knowing God. All creation is groaning in open travail right now. All creation longs and weeps for freedom. All who have died in Christ, having lost their physical bodies, are groaning for wholeness right now. All heavenly creatures, caught under the vanity of not knowing God, groan for freedom.

All humans on this earth are groaning for freedom right now. All the shadows wandering in Hades, both human and angelic, are longing and groaning for freedom right now. All the fabric of the heavens, all the substance of earth and stars, all groan and labor, waiting with all tears for the hour of their release.

Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:23

For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 2 Corinthians 5:4

Everything groans and travails for the defeat of death and for the full release of the rivers of living water out of our bellies. We also groan by the Holy Ghost for that same swallowing up of life.

This is the story God is telling; this is Jesus-Sent.

~~~
Even the words of the person, “We live, we die, that's it, no biggy,” are just the typical response of the youthful male who gets drunk in the face of horror.
I am speaking entirely of the New Jerusalem. I am speaking entirely of the mother of us all.
I am speaking of the deepest depths of God's heart.
The defeat of death – otherwise known as God-revealed.
Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,  and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. John 5:25-27
You see, Matthew wrote his gospel before he had ever considered Paul's gospel. But John wrote his gospel after years of immersion in Paul's gospel, and thus remembered Jesus saying, “The hour – now is.”
But all who cower before Goliath whine, “Oh, but physical death is just God's way of taking us to the 'higher life' that God promised. Sure, God said that He defeats all our enemies. But Goliath must be part of God's perfect will for us  because he is just too big for us and we are just too little for him! In fact the death of flesh is God's plan, then we will finally know only 'spiritual' life.”
Yeah, Yordy, you're really big enough to take out death!!!
The truth is, I'm too tired this morning to grade papers I must grade and if I try, I know I'll make myself worse.
Death? You see, the defeat of death is very much a conversation between God and me inside of me, just as it was with David. “God, what do we do about our problem?” It's called The Covenant.
In my last letter, I mentioned a man using a sister's Facebook name, mocking me. God does just about everything apart from you, Yordy. He doesn't need any human consent. Words like these don't bother me; they are so clearly the serpent having taken possession of the man's mind and heart. Rather, it is words spoken alongside the truth but that still fall short of God's glory that sometimes cause me distress.
But consider the exact words that really are the deepest expression of Satan's hatred against God, the root of all of his present fear. God does not need any human consent.
If God did anything in the earth apart from human consent it would be SIN. God does not do sin.
Satan's great fear, the thing keeping him awake at night in terrifying agony, is the thought that any human being would consent for God to move through them into visible reality. When any human gives him consent, these are the exact words he would speak in the desperate hope of intimidating and silencing faith. Satan hates faith; he hates the woman; he would burn her flesh with fire. But even the serpent requires human consent. Man is the master.
But faith is not passive; faith is travail. Faith is the female of God.
I am circling ever around a very pregnant reality of God, the possible meaning of the words “the mother of us all,” partly in order to gather every thought bearing down upon this thing I see and partly because I am too timid, yet, to alight fully upon it. Let's circle some more.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good. Genesis 1:1-3
The Hebrew phrase, “the Spirit of God hovered over,” is entirely female.
I am writing another letter in which I take everything we are discussing about poetry in my college class and showing that every description of the nuances and meaning of the poem are really describing everything that God is. You cannot discuss poetry without mentioning “God” or “Bible” things and understandings, but I sit there grieved in my heart because everything they reject about God in Person is the rejection only of the Nicene God. I cannot say, “God is not like that at all,” because there is no framework in Christianity to speak of God as He is. All of it is polluted by the Nicolaitan Christ, a “God” they rightly reject. You can see that the words spoken against me on Facebook are utterly out from the Nicene Creed.
Everything in these words in Genesis 1 is found in the essence and meaning of both poem and poetry.
In the Poem, the Poet created the heavens and the earth. But the Poem did not yet have form. So the Spirit of God hovered over the Poem as its Mother and God spoke into the Poem as its Father. And the Word God spoke filled the Poem as the Spirit of God gave it form and substance. And God read the Poem and saw His image, true and good, reflected in all ways through the Poem, through both form and image.
For we are His Poem (Greek poesia), created in Christ Jesus, created in the Poet. Ephesians 2:10
I just wrote this as if a different article, but realized it goes here.
The Anti-Nicene Creed
I know God the Father who fills me with all of His fullness. He creates and fills all things, but He is known in both heaven and earth only as a Man laying down His life for His friends.
I know Jesus-Sent who is my very and only life. I live only in Him who carried me inside Himself all the way through death into life. His Gethsemane is my Gethsemane, His death is my death, His resurrection is my resurrection; His blood always cleanses me. This same Jesus is now seated upon my heart, the throne of heaven. Inside of Him, seeing out from His eyes alone, I know God.
I live always in the Holy Spirit of God who reveals God in the heavens and who reveals Christ in me and who flows out from me as rivers of living water bringing life to all.
I am a member of the one body of Christ in which Jesus walks the earth today. Our flesh is His flesh. Together, He in us and we in Him, we will defeat death and all the curse, casting them off human experience. God judges all things by our revealed union with Christ. This same Jesus, as our very and only life, will subdue all things by love, by our lives laid down, and will restore all creation back to the Father.
~~~

Do you see that all of this is just another way of saying 1 John 3:16 out from John 14:20. By this we KNOW love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Interesting, but in searching for the exact Nicene Creed, I learned that the Anglicans once read it every week in the church. Their Creed never once showed them Christ.

But try an experiment. Shout this Creed as I have written it at the top of your lungs two or three times a day. Here is what will happen to you. First, you will instantly be a target of the harshest accusation you have known in your life – and the weakest. The accusation simply does not stand against your declaration of your reality. Then, you will discover one day that you believe these words to be true. After awhile it will dawn on you that you KNOW they are true. But as time goes on, you will go forth in all things as these words being your only reality, here and now.

But the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren, you who do not bear! Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children than she who has a husband.” Galatians 4:26-27

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it (the New Jerusalem), and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.Revelation 22:1-4

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!”

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8: 26

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!”

The Holy Spirit is feminine, the female part of God.

There are men who would call such a statement “blasphemy.” I cannot comprehend why. Well, actually I do. It always makes some men feel like hot stuff when they can express superiority over the woman.

The Holy Spirit does stay in the background, only speaking of Christ, only forming Christ in us, only revealing Christ through us, the mother of us all.

Jesus said that one can blaspheme and curse the Father and the Son, and still find forgiveness, but don't say a thing against the Spirit – the heart of protection.

The Spirit is the Spirit of God; the Spirit is made known by the Bride.

The gifts of the Spirit make the Bride beautiful. The fruit of the Spirit make the Bride wonderful. The works of the Spirit make the Bride holy. The intercession of the Spirit causes the Bride to bring forth life. The thanksgiving of the Spirit leads the Bride into the fullness of her glory.

The one who says, “I don't need the gifts of the Spirit, because I have Christ,” does not reckon with the anger of the Christ they know. The Spirit will never move in self-defense, but the protection of Christ Himself is ever ready.

Never speak against the Holy Spirit. If you are uneasy about the spirit you sense in any place, then quietly go out with your family, but speak nothing. You are free to share that you felt uneasy and so left. You do not want to say, “It was not the Holy Spirit there; it was demons.”

Curse Jesus all you want, and He will forgive you, but do not call the Holy Spirit a demon. Demons are always operating, including inside your own sphere. But so is the Holy Spirit – and that Holy Spirit is doing in others what you cannot see even as that same Spirit leads you away. The same Christ who carries you carries all.

What is this thing I cannot pin down with words, this knowing of something that labors deep inside of me?

I have written it many times, for instance in my article, “What on Earth is God Doing?” I tried to express it even more deeply back then, to put it into words, somehow to give it form and shape, but God said, “No,” and I erased what I had written.

Deep inside of God, in the innermost recesses of His heart, is a pure and holy Desire, a dream, if you will.

We know this invisible God only be the description shown to us as a Man.

Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16

The deepest thing inside of God is not Holiness, though it is pure and holy. It is not Love, though it lives only in love.

Here is it's clearest expression: He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

– I want to be known.

I want to touch; I want to be touched.

I want to gather in my arms; I want to bless and to be blessed.

I want to be known. –

Do you see the terrible dilemma that is God; do you see His awful agony?

God cannot be known except He create others to know Him. And God cannot create others to know Him except by Love, by setting them free of Himself. And God cannot set others free of Himself without losing them. And God cannot lose them without bearing all the costs of their loss inside Himself.

And still, after all that, He is not yet known.

He has created; He has set free: He has lost all that He loves; He has paid all the costs; He now carries all.

And still, He is not yet known.

God cannot sin; He cannot force. He can be known ONLY through faith.

Sitting in that poetry class, arranged in a semi-circle, the thing that strikes me the most is that these individuals do NOT know God. They have in their minds a false caricature of God which they reject, some may even be Christians, but they do not KNOW Him.

I would contend that those who are in the heavens only, having lost their physical body, yet as perfected spirits inside of Christ Jesus, do not yet KNOW God, not in the way He longs to be known.

How will it be? How will God be known and touched and handled in the way that He desires. We know how much He wants such a thing – look at all He has done. How will it be?

And the woman screamed in travail to give birth – the Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

God cannot be known by anyone or anything in heaven or earth except by one means alone. God and man must come into union together that God might be seen and known and touched through man. It is The Covenant.

Human faith is the only element in the universe through which God can know the deepest desire of His heart, the desire that has cost Him everything. Human faith is Christ as us. Human faith is our consent.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled. 1 John 1:1

Do you see these hands here, these hands of mine, these rough and hoary hands? These very hands touched Almighty God. This very face leaned itself against His breast. This ear, right here, heard the beating of His heart.

The Holy Spirit is not the mother of us all. The Christian church is not the mother of us all.

The mother of us all, the New Jerusalem, is the perfect union in all ways of Spirit and Bride, Bride and Spirit.

For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14

How my heart longs for the full gathering together of the little local gatherings of precious believers in one Spirit and in one body. Fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, old folks and children, from many walks and ways and doings, all seeing Christ in all, all adorned by the sparkling gifts of the Spirit, all savory fresh with the fruits of the Spirit. Walking together, worshiping together, working together, forgiving one another, loving one another.

I am NOT talking about Sunday church once a week. I am not talking about church as almost all know it. I am talking about church life for real.

Church life for real is the only testimony of Christ.

Church life for real is the only means by which God wins His dream, by which God is known and seen, touched and handled.

The New Jerusalem is Christian communities scattered across the whole earth.

And all the peoples of the earth will walk in their light – when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe. 2 Thessalonians 1:10

Understand this, heaven/earth are forever married. There is never any form of separation between these two parts of the same thing. The new heavens and the new earth arise entirely together out from the same speaking of Christ. But the inversion of light will also take place forever, as it crosses the boundary line between spirit and flesh. That which is glorious in the heavens walks in humility upon the earth. That which exalts itself in the earth is counted as nothing in the heavens.

You look in the heavens and see the glorious New Jerusalem, the city of God, in all of her beauty. You look across the earth and see many little communities of believers, living in conjunction with each other, growing their own food together, raising their own animals, worshiping together, eating their meals together, seeing only Christ in each other, singing the song of the Lamb together into all who live around them.

You are seeing exactly the same thing.

In the heavens she appears monolithic; across the earth she appears scattered, but that is appearance only, she is all the substance of God.

This vision is God known, and I want it.

I know that God-known is community; it is church life forever.

But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. Revelation 21:23-26

In the heavens glory; in the earth community, koinonia, fellowship.

One Spirit with God in the heavens, one flesh with Christ and each other in the earth. Members of one another; the body of Christ, the body of God. The mother of us all.

I will not let go of the glory of God found only in community, in church life 24/7.

You may not know what you are laboring right now to bring forth. I do. I have tasted of church life; I have eaten of its fruit. I testify to you that it is good.

Certainly there are giants in the land. But those giants, death and all separation from God, are already defeated. Union with God always comes first. Christ as us is all we are. We are well able to possess the land; we are well able to know Christ as His body; we are well able to overcome.

Let's do it, do you think?

Somewhere, somehow, there is a gathering together, not in Spirit only, but also in Word and in Deed.

This gathering together is not the temporary until we go back to “real” life.

It is the only life that is real.

Life as we know it in our world today, separate and cut off from each other, is so unreal. It is separation; it is ungodly.

Christian community – Church life; Christian community – Church life; Christian community – Church life; Christian community.

I am not talking about socialism, but Christ.

Fellowship of land, fellowship of meals, fellowship of work, fellowship of school, fellowship of worship, fellowship of witness, fellowship of life, fellowship of joy, fellowship of love, fellowship of Spirit.

For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,

Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns.

The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory.

You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord will name.

You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord,

And a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate…

For the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married.

For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you;

And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night.

You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,

And give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isaiah 62:1-7

I am a very limited man. But I possess one thing; I possess a voice.

And I will speak and I will speak; I will call forth and I will call forth; I will sing and I will sing.

I will not be silent.

I will give God no rest until He establishes and until He makes Jerusalem a PRAISE all through the earth.
