1.3 Connections to Pro-Thesis

The ruling verse of the Bible is Romans 8:28-30. – God has already determined me conformed as one person together with Jesus as the revelation of the Father. Everything in the Bible and in all reality must come under and be known by the universe-shaping words in these three verses together as one.

This course is based entirely on the five prior Symmorphy courses, Purpose, Essence, Kingdom, Covenant, and Life. Thus, on a regular basis, this course assumes that the learner has completed every element in the prior five courses and knows by experience living inside the Church as the Mercy Seat of God.

Ruling Words. Five HUGE Greek words, then, coming into English, come out from this most important verse, the first defining verse of everything in our minds. Pro-Thesis; Pro-Knowing; Pro-Determined; Symmorphosed; and Image.

Pro-Thesis is the set forth purpose of God out from which all things flow and towards which all things work, God’s intention, the Father’s DESIRE. Pro-Thesis is the Word by which all things are created.

Pro-Knowing is the intimate knowing of the Heart of God out from which all things proceed, a knowledge that IS God, His KNOWING of you and me at all times and in every way.

Pro-Determined is the action of God, out from the core of His Being, a Determination that has seized you and me in its grip, a Determination that WILL accomplish all that the Father intends.

Symmorphosed is the ruling verb of the nature and Being of God, Person inside of Persons inside of persons, God and us merged together as one person by every word that is Christ, sharing the same form.

Finally, Image is the outer expression of God’s purpose, God Himself appearing to His creation as you and me, the revelation of Jesus Christ, that the Father might be seen and known, touched and handled by all of His creation.

We will find five truly defining verses to fit each one of these five words, but the whole Bible is given to define mankind.

Defining Verses. What is man, that You presently hold him in mind or the son of man that You come to visit with him? (Hebrews 2:6). These questions posit that we exist first inside God’s thoughts and that God shares our lives in sweet communion. Thus we cannot know what it is to be human apart from – And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat (Exodus 25:22).

Then consider these verses. We are now children [birthed out from] God, and it has not yet been made visible what we will be. We know that if He becomes visible [to us], we will be just exactly like Him, because we will be seeing Him as He is. – As He is, so also are we in this present world (1 John 3:2 & 4:17). We cannot know the human except by the Lord Jesus.

Verses to Be Paired. The very nature of our humanity requires that many of the Bible verses defining the human come together as pairs. For instance, 1 Corinthians 6:17, He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him, must be matched with Ephesians 5:30-31, We are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. …One flesh with Him.

Then, Let Us make man in Our image and after Our likeness (Genesis 1:26) must be matched with, He who has seen Me [a man] has seen the Father (John 14:9). These two verses paired require this statement. – We know man by first knowing God. We know God only by knowing man. This is God’s great riddle, the mystery of Christ.

Love and Purpose. We cannot define the human apart from our togetherness. Indeed, we also inside of one Spirit were immersed into one body, …and have all been made to drink one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many (1 Corinthians 12:13-14). Body and Spirit. – Members of one another – Members in particular. – Love one another.

It would be fitting to bring in all of the ten ruling verses of the Bible, for each one is critical to any definition of the human. Yet no definition of man can exist apart from God’s purpose and apart from the setting and plot of the Great Story of God. Romans 8:28-30 really is the full definition of us.

Pro-Thesis. Those who love God [real humans] are synergeoing with God, directing all created things into goodness (Romans 8:28).

Nothing about humans can make sense without FIRST knowing God’s purpose for humans inside creation. Nothing inside creation can operate as God intends apart from a full synergeoing of God with specific humans. God put man into creation as His intermediary, and in doing so, He gave man the authority over all created things. Yet God reserved all power to Himself.

Creation cannot know God nor even goodness and life except sons of God are so in tune with the Father that God and them are always turning everything towards the knowledge of God.

Pro-Knowing. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret… Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts of me, O God! How great is the sum of them! (Psalm 139:15-18). We are first God’s thoughts before our life ever begins.

In our study of what it is to be human, we will find ourselves with David more than any other person in the Bible save Jesus, and in fact it is David who enables us to know the real Jesus. – I will write upon Him the name of My God. – And His name shall be on their foreheads (Revelation 3:12 & 22:4). Do you have any idea what on earth these things mean?

Pro-Determination. [Jesus] Himself called an invisible God into visibility, becoming the same as humans. And having been found in outward appearance as a human, He humbled Himself, actively becoming hearing-under all the way to death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, also, God highly exalted Him… (Philippians 2:7-9).

Nothing shows us the determination of God like the Ekenosis, the willingness of the Lord Jesus to show us God as He is through the story of His life. For this reason, we find inside of God’s Pro-Determination every element of the Great Story of God in which we are caught, the passion, the conflict, the endurance, the victory, and the restoration of all that was lost.

Symmorphy. Know that I am inside of the Father and you inside of Me and I inside of you (John 14:20). – Sharing the same form. We have no life apart from living in Jesus and He in us, apart from Jesus and a human, sharing all form together – AND – Jesus and His Church sharing all form together.

No human was created to live any other way than to eat continuously of the Tree of Life. – The one eating My flesh and drinking My blood abides inside of Me and I inside of Him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live through the Father, so also the one feeding on Me, even he will live through me (John 6:57-58). This means sharing all of life together on an equal basis.

Image. He who has seen Me has seen the Father – As He is, so are we in this world. – The aroma of His knowledge… in every place. God made known to all through our human appearance.

Image, then, is the practical outworking of Pro-Thesis. As we synergeo with God, so we reveal the Father to all, just as Jesus did. Except – Jesus was a solitary individual. God is known as He truly is only through His Church, many together as one, sharing life together, loving one another with pure hearts. Thus our humanity is forever, and giving space to one another as humans is forever, for that LOVE is God-made-visible. The image and likeness of God.

Holiness and Power. By seeking out the one “verse” that best expresses the meaning of these five words from Romans 8:28-30, we have truly found the primary verses inside of which all parts of an accurate definition of the human must be found. Everything in this course, then, must come out from, must explain and describe, and must take us back into the meaning of these five things and their expression as our human lives.

Of truth, as I am considering God’s definition of ‘man,’ I find myself caught in such holiness, in such purity and power, beyond what I can comprehend. Nothing that is human can be defined by Adam or the serpent; everything that is human is defined only by the Lord Jesus Christ, the only life we are.

For Believers Only. Because real humans know only devotion to the Father’s Heart, we must give warning to those who would study these things. Nothing in this text will allow anyone to manipulate and control God by manipulating and controlling other people. Those who prefer to despise their brothers and sisters in Christ will find nothing of value in these pages.

Those who believe into Jesus, however, will find in the lessons of this course deep pools of living water, drawn entirely and only from gospel verses. They will find joy unspeakable and filled with glory. That is, they will become REAL humans.

Concluding Thoughts. For more than thirty years, I have wanted to write a definitive explanation of the human. Yet the time was not yet. At the same time, when I completed Symmorphy V: Life almost three years ago, I was happy to be finished with the more difficult writing task of creating educational volumes.

Yet when the thought of writing two more Symmorphy courses came to me, I was seized with such excitement. And as I have written this first chapter of Symmorphy VI: Mankind, my heart is overwhelmed with joy. Writing this volume is the culmination of years of desire. And your choice to join with me in this journey is the crown of my reward from God.

The Ark of the Covenant. Of all that would teach us what a human is, the primary metaphor is the Ark of the Covenant with the Mercy Seat.

The Ark of the Covenant is Jesus – The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. The Ark of the Covenant is us as individuals – You are a letter of Christ written with Spirit ink upon your human heart of flesh. And the Ark of the Covenant is the Church – That now through the Church the manifold wisdom of God might be known.

A box of wood, our humanity, covered on the inside and on the outside with God, containing His Covenant written upon the heart and living as His authority, the authority of Mercy, the authority of Love.

Welcome to This Course. As learners going through this course and all courses at Christ Revealed Bible Institute, you will know the Spirit of God leading you, personally, into all truth, into all the knowledge of Jesus alive and real inside your heart. There is no other purpose for anything, yet all things of joy and goodness flow out of our hearts, the Mercy Seat, the throne of God, out of Father in all abundance.

As you work your way through this course, stay always with Jesus. He alone teaches you. The pages of this text have no meaning at all unless Jesus is making Himself known to you by using what is written here just a little bit. I am confident that is exactly what He is doing in you.
