Chapter 16                   

1 Corinthians: -1- -2- -3- -4- -5- -6- -7- -8- -9- -10- -11- -12- -13- -14- -15- -16-
  16:1 Now, concerning the collection for the devoted ones, do the same as I have directed to the churches of Galatia. 2 Let each of you set aside every first of the week, treasuring up what and if he prospers, so that there should not be collections when I come. 3 Then, when I have arrived, I will send those to whom you have given written approval, to carry your gift to Jerusalem. 4 If I also should go, then they will go with me.

5 I will come to you, however, after l have gone through Macedonia (for I am going through Macedonia). 6 I will then possibly stay with you or even winter, so that you may send me to wherever I end up going. 7 I really do not want to see you just in passing; indeed, I hope to remain a certain time with you, as the Lord permits. 8 I will remain here in Ephesus, however, until Pentecost, 9 for a great and effective door has opened to me, which many oppose.

10 If Timothy comes now, let him be towards you without fear; for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I also do. 11 Let not anyone ignore him either, but send him forth in peace so that he might return to me; for I and the other brethren here are expecting him. 12 Concerning Apollos, our brother, I did greatly encourage him to go to you with the others, but it was not at all his desire to come to you now. He will come, however, when he has the opportunity.

13 Watch; stand firm inside of the faith; be responsible; become strong. 14 Let all things be done inside of love.

15 I encourage you now, brothers and sisters, as you know that the house of Stephanas is the firstfruit of Achaia, and that they have given themselves to the service of the devoted ones, 16 so you also submit yourselves to such as these, and to everyone synergeoing and toiling together in the work. 17 I rejoice as well in the presence of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, because they have completed the full measure of your lack. 18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore, acknowledge such as these.

19 The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily inside of the Lord, with the church at their house. 20 All the brothers and sisters greet you. Greet one another inside of warm affection. 21 This greeting is in Paul’s own hand.

22 If anyone does not love the Lord, let him be given up to God. Our Lord is come. 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. 24 My love be with you all inside of Christ Jesus. Let it be so; it is so.
 
 
 
Gospel Word Notes
• Ruling Verse 7: We stand always upon firm, upon the immovable Rock that is our Covenant with God, the Lord Jesus. We are part of Christ because we are confident that we are part of Christ. Our “watch” is to bring God always into every moment and circumstance. We are strong inside of Jesus; we go forth always in the celebration of Victory.
