  6: • 1 Therefore, being released from the first words of Christ upon completion [of the fullness of Christ], we should bring forth and carry on; not laying again the foundation of turning our minds away from dead works, and [not laying again the foundation] of faith upon God, 2 of immersions, instruction, of laying on of hands, of the resurrection from the dead, and of the unfolding Age of Justice. 3 And this we will do as God entrusts us to do.

4 For it is impossible for those who once were enlightened, having tasted of the heavenly gift and having become partakers of the Devoted Spirit, 5 and having tasted the beauty of God’s speaking, and the power of the coming age, 6 should they turn away, to restore them again into changing their mind, for they themselves crucify the Son of God, and set Him forth as a disgrace [k]

7 Indeed, the earth, having soaked up the rain coming often, and bringing forth vegetation useful for those for whom it is tilled, partakes of the blessing of good speaking from God. 8 Ground that brings forth thorns and thistles, however, has failed the test and is near to a curse, of which the completion is to be burned.

9 We are confident, however, concerning you, beloved, of better and of possessing salvation, even if we speak like this. 10 For God is not unjust to overlook your work and the love that you demonstrate into His name, having served and are serving

• 11 We desire, moreover, that each of you demonstrate the same enthusiasm towards connecting with the full assurance and conviction of hope all the way through to completion, 12 that you might not be lazy, but imitators of those who through faith and patience are actively and presently inheriting the promises.

• 13 For God, having made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater by which to swear, swore by Himself, 14 saying, “If assuredly there is good-speaking, then I will bless and speak good words into you, and if assuredly there is increase, then I will increase you” (Genesis 22:16-17). 15 And thus, having waited patiently, Abraham obtained the promise. 16 For men swear by what is greater, and all their contradictions are limited by the establishment of the oath. In the same way, but more abundantly, • 17 God, intending with full determination to demonstrate to the heirs of promise His unchangeable purpose, He interposed it by an oath, • 18 so that through two unchangeable deeds [spoken word and sworn oath] [l], in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might possess STRONG encouragement, having already fled for refuge to seize hold of hope found already there.

• 19 This strong encouragement we possess as an anchor of the soul [of the story we tell ourselves about ourselves], both certain and firm, which is presently entering into that Devoted of Devotions within the veil, 20 where Jesus as forerunner for our sakes has entered, having already become High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek into the [present] season.
