20: • 1 Then I saw an angel descending out of heaven, holding the key of the abyss, and a great chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the devil, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 And he cast him into the abyss, and shut and sealed it over him, so that he should not lead the ethnic families astray, until the thousand years were completed. After this, it is necessary for him to be released for a little time.

• 4 And I saw thrones, and THEY sat upon them, and judgment was given to them [h], • and [I saw] the souls of those who were beheaded through the testimony of Jesus and through the word of God, and those who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive the stamp upon their forehead and upon their hand. • And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years was completed. This is the first resurrection. • 6 Blessed and devoted is the one who has a part inside the first resurrection. Upon these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him a thousand years.

7 But when the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released out of his prison 8 and will go out to lead astray the ethnic families in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together into the war, whose number is like the sand of the sea. 9 And they ascended up upon the breadth of the earth and besieged the encampment of the devoted ones and the beloved city. But fire came down out of heaven and consumed them. 10 And the devil, the one leading them astray, was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the fake prophet are, and they will be examined day and night into the unfolding of the ages.

• 11 Then I saw a great white throne, and the One sitting upon it, from whose face and presence earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing in the face and presence of the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of the things that were written inside the books, according to their works. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it; and death and hades gave up the dead who were in them; and each of them were judged according to their works. 14 And death and hades were cast into the lake of fire. This second death is the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone was not found written inside the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire (i).
