10. I Am about My Father's Business

I began this volume by raising the question, “What on Earth is God Doing?” I then laid a foundation of how we are sons of God and how Christ is planted in us as us – how it is that Christ, by becoming us in this world, Himself brings salvation back to the Father.

But this volume is about the unveiling of Jesus Christ, that is, the Apocalypse, the moment in the history of man on this earth when the cover is taken off and all things are seen as they really are. There is an apocalypse of evil, that is, evil will be seen as the evil that it has always been, and there is the apocalypse of Christ, when the cover of our humanity is lifted and Christ is seen in us, fully revealed as the sons of God in the earth.

The unveiling of Jesus Christ is the focus of the New Testament and of the work of God in our lives. Christians have not known this only because they have willfully ignored and explained away the most important verses in the Bible.

But the unveiling of Jesus Christ is utterly personal. Jesus Christ is revealed in me — Daniel Yordy— . (Put your own name in the blank, the “I” is you.)

I am a son of God. I am already redeemed. I am not concerned with any further element of redemption.

I sit upon the Mercy Seat, the throne of God.

I am sent into this earth in exactly the same way that the Father sent the Lord Jesus into the earth. (John 20:21)

I am not here to make my way to heaven – I live there fully right now. I am not here to have a happy life – though God is all about happy living.

I am here to fulfill my Father’s business and to accomplish His purpose in the earth. Inside that overall purpose, my Father has appointed a particular task for me. The quest itself belongs to Jesus as He reveals Himself through every member of His body, but the particular task appointed for me is mine separate and distinct from yours. Your task complements mine, it comes alongside of mine, but your task belongs to you and my task belongs to me.

This task has nothing to do with our redemption, it is glory. It is the unveiling of Jesus Christ.

I am about my Father’s business.

We must have clear in our minds what the Father’s business and purpose is. The Father’s business is all one thing, but it has many facets.

Very simply, God intends to prove Christ in the flesh.

In the beginning God said, “Let there be Light.” In the beginning the serpent said, “Did God indeed say?” The first word is Christ, Jesus the Son, issuing forth from the Father. He is the Word God speaks. The second is the Lie, that which is anti-Christ, “God, Your word prevails in heaven, sure, but it won’t happen in the earth. It will not win; it will not reveal itself inside of human flesh.”

The second word, the Lie, was 100% inside of God’s purpose. His intention is to prove Christ in the flesh. How can He prove Christ in the flesh except Christ be challenged in the flesh? God did not speak the Lie, nor is He responsible for the consequences of believing the Lie. Yet it was God who placed that Lie in the Garden of Eden knowing it would be spoken into the heart of man.

Look at the world as it is right now today. Look at all the millions of ways in which the Lie has wrapped itself around the planet, filling men’s minds and all the institutions of society and all the relationships between people. It is a vast spider web of thought and philosophy, of greed and cruelty, of hopelessness and despair, and the steel bars and lead bullets that make the Lie so convincing.

Then look at you and me. Not much to look at, eh? Seems to be no comparison.

But the Lie is more convincing than I have yet described.

As I have shared, I draw from story. God speaks to me through story. Yes, He speaks to me through the story found in the Bible, but He also speaks to me through many other stories as well. All story speaks of Christ; all story speaks of you and me fulfilling the task our Father has set before us.

But the story through which God speaks to me the most is JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. I read it 18 times through when I was a teenager. Then, for many years, it was just part of a past I had gladly left behind. But in recent years, I have read it 4 more times, including once out loud to my children. You might think 22 times through is excessive, and you are undoubtedly right. But still, the voice of God echoes all through my heart as I consider the meaning of the story line.

Sauron – evil – has created a ring of power in order to magnify himself. Yet that ring of power is separated from the evil one and is seeking to return to him. Meanwhile, it is found by the weakest and silliest of creatures in all the world, hobbits. It is appointed to them to find the only possible solution to the imminent destruction of Middle Earth. They, in their weakness, must take the ring to the fire where it was created and there destroy it. In doing so, all the power of evil is broken, and it holds no more sway upon the earth.

Those who are wise and strong know that they must keep the eye of Sauron upon themselves in order to keep it off of the weakness that alone could destroy him. In the end, all the fate of the world rests upon the stout heart and sturdy legs of Samwise Gamgee, a gardener, the most easily passed over hobbit among all other hobbits. Sauron cannot comprehend weakness, he knows only ambition and lust for power, and therefore he is defeated.

It is this picture that is always in my heart as I consider the victory of Christ in us in this earth.

Look at the earth again. Look at all the seething masses of humanity, every single one of them a person just like us. A man or woman or child created in the image of God, with a desire to know peace and happiness, loving their children, hoping for a better life, knowing that life as it was meant to be has to be more than their present experience. All the hope, all the desire, all the longing, personal and real, just like you and me.

Yet they are all caught in this tangled web of deceit and the exaltation of the glory of man upon this earth, the waving of the flags, the “praying” for the troops.

I know what is being planned by wicked men. I am aware of the technologies of evil that are being built across the earth, the webs of microwave towers that can control the thoughts of all, the vast underground fortresses available only to the elite, the turning of soldiers into cyborgs – part human and part machine – without conscience or remorse, genetically engineering them to kill, the genetic manipulation of life forms, the plan to eliminate 90% of the population of the planet and to turn the rest into dumbed-down slaves.

All of these plans are fully developed and advanced far beyond what most people can imagine.

And then I look at my own children, their beauty, their innocence, and the joy of their lives. I am so proud of them.

Let me be the one upon whom the burden falls.

“I will take the ring, though I do not know the way.”

Whenever I have opened The Fellowship of the Ring and turned to these words of Frodo, no matter where I might be, I have to hide my face, because the tears instantly start to flow. Deep calls unto deep.

The ring of power that gives evil its power upon this earth over the hearts of men is the Lie spoken by the serpent in the beginning, “Did God really say that?”

And they overcame – the accuser – by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11

This is the task given to us.

But the Lie is more convincing than I have yet described.

The lie is of the evil one, allowed by God, but He is not responsible for it. However, because of the sin of Adam, God Himself has backed up the Lie with the Curse. The Lie is spoken by the serpent, but the Curse is spoken entirely by God. “The wages of sin is death.” In fact, God spoke the Curse into the world before the serpent spoke the lie. “In the day that you eat thereof, you shall surely die.” “Surely die” should actually be translated, “in dying you shall die.” The serpent was able to speak the Lie only because God had first spoken the Curse. It is God Himself who through the Curse enables the Lie to work in the world and in the minds and hearts of disobedient men.

Why? God tells us exactly why. Let’s look at what He says carefully.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing (the apocalypse) of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:18-23

“For the creation was subjected to futility” is the Curse spoken by God upon the serpent, upon the woman, upon the man, upon the earth, upon all creation, and upon all mankind.

Now, up until the last few days, I had thought that the words, “not willingly” referred to the fact that the creation did not want to be cursed, that is, you and I did not choose to have this curse of futility imposed upon us. But that is not all that it means.

The Lie could come to man only because the Curse was first spoken by God. But the Curse would never have come upon man if man had not willingly embraced the Lie with all of his heart.

No, when Paul here says, “not willingly,” he was talking about God. The Curse is NOT God’s will. This is so very, very important for us to know.

The Curse is NOT God’s will.

It is God’s will that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

God’s will is FAVOR, with no shadow upon it. God’s will is LIFE and that more abundantly. God’s will is LOVE and tender compassion.

Let’s briefly recount the Curse as it sits now upon the earth and upon all creation.

First, God gave Satan and his demons a place to hide from His presence – human flesh. So long as a demon can occupy human flesh, he cannot see God nor is he aware of God’s presence. Demons do not want to be seen or exposed, they want only to hide – and they get their energy from human misery.

No one will fix a single problem on this planet except they cast all demons off of it. Anything less than the removal of every single evil spirit from all the realms of earth is nothing other than an exercise of moving sand around in water.

Second, that same serpent has been given the power to attack the Christ of God in us, to keep believers in whom Christ dwells in darkness and in shame through the Lie. Yes, that is also part of the Curse. “And you – the serpent – shall bruise His heel,” that’s you and me – the part of Him that walks upon the earth.

Third is much more than the pain of a woman in childbirth. It is all the pain that bringing children into a fallen world of darkness and evil entails. How many mothers and fathers have watched their children butchered before their eyes or fall into sin and darkness?

Fourth is all the masquerade of human government in which psychopaths, people without a conscience or the quality that makes us all human claw their way to the top in order to preside over the misery of their brethren. No form of government yields itself to psychopaths in the way that modern democracy does. Under kings, it was possible, upon occasion, to have a king with a good heart. Under modern political democratic government, only the very lowest form of human sells itself in the effort to climb to the top. People at the top can pretend to be “Christian,” but they compromised everything holy on the altar of the lust for power long before you heard their names.

Part five of the curse is the burden and travail of the earth itself. The floods, the famines, the earthquakes. The weeds and thorns; the harshness by which it brings forth its fruit for man.

Sixth is death. The wearing down of the physical body until it is shovelled into the grave in death.

And seventh is the skin of the beast, that outer shell of hardness by which fallen man is protected from the light and presence of a Holy God. That blindness by which “fools rush in where angels fear to tread.”

None of this is the will of God; not any of it.

The Lie, “Did God really say that,” gains its power only from the Curse, “The soul that sinneth shall die.”

Jesus broke both Lie and Curse upon the cross. And He birthed a new creation in Himself as He rose from the dead.

Yet as we look across this planet we see both the Lie and the Curse seemingly triumphant, ruling in full sway as if what Jesus did has no meaning. And we see nothing but endless tears and suffering for our children and for their children and for their children.

Unless — Unless the buck stops here.

“I will take the ring, though I do not know the way.”

Thirty three years ago, as a young man of 20 years old, I heard a word, spoken through a man sent by God, but spoken by God Himself into my heart.

That word found a resting place inside of me. I did not know, at the time, if I could ever be part of such a thing, but I wanted to. I wanted to.

And through all the years since, that word has never let me go. I am NO more able to fulfill that word now than I was then, except —

Except Christ lives in my heart; He Himself is that Word in me.

There is no better expression of what that word is that I heard 33 years ago, the Word that carries me today, than Romans 8:19-21 and Revelation 12:5. “And she brought forth a manchild who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron, and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.”

The Curse must be removed from this earth. That is the great task resting upon the shoulders of Christ, a task that He fulfills through us, to each our own appointed part. The Curse is already broken; it is not God’s will, yet it must still be removed.

But how and why does the Curse spoken by God rest still upon the earth?

It is there by the Lie, those four little words spoken by the serpent in the beginning, “Did God indeed say?”

This is the ring that we must take back to the fire from which it was formed and there destroy it forever.

The accuser of our brethren is cast down.

And this is exactly what you and I are doing right now.

Let me tell you something. Most Christians imagine that evil is triumphing on the earth in our day. They think that this is the day of evil, that the enemy is reaching for his final victory against God.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Evil is being revealed in the earth, that which has always been there, but unseen in the darkness, ONLY because you and I are turning the lights on, we are casting down the accuser and he is fleeing to the only refuge he has left, that final fit of anger before his time is over. You and I are forcing the darkness out into the light, the last place it has any desire to go.

The Lie is being destroyed in weakness, in smallness, in stoutheartedness, in solid determination to put one foot in front of the other, to finish this thing, this great task that has been placed upon our shoulders, that we accept willingly, that we are determined to complete, though we do not know the way.

All that God speaks, every word, IS FULFILLED personally in ME!

I am the apocalypse of the sons of God; I am the unveiling of Jesus Christ; I am the second witness of Christ; I am the one through whom the anointing oil flows from the very throne of God; I am given all the power and authority of judgment. I rule all nations with a rod of iron; I sit upon the throne of God.

I am filled with all the fullness of God; out of my belly flows the River of Life; I cast down every voice that challenges the word God speaks.

God reveals Himself in the earth in MY FLESH!

The word God speaks, Christ, is made perfect and complete in me in this age, on this earth, in this body of flesh. (The “I” and “me” is you; speak it as you.)

What are we doing?

We are casting the Lie back into the pit from whence it came.

Christ is my life; I have no other life.

But Jesus said that what we now speak in secret must yet be shouted from the housetops. The time is soon upon us when we will openly declare the revelation of Jesus Christ. This thing must become real. It must be manifest in visible reality, in our present experience.

When we say, “I am the unveiling of Jesus Christ,” we are not setting ourselves up in some solitary exalted position in a religious imagination. There is certainly plenty of that in this world. Rather, we are speaking by faith what is true of Christ who is my life and yours. We are speaking the normal Christian life. And we speak these things because God has shown us to speak Christ first, even when we do not see. He always leads us in triumph. He leads us no other way.

But we must see in full reality before this thing is over.

We must see all that Christ is revealed fully through us here in this earth. That which we speak in the secret of our own closets must be broadcast in manifest reality across the earth.

That which is now by faith must be the evidence and proof of God in this world.

The Lie must actually be broken; it must be cast into the fire and consumed – and all of the Curse with it. The Curse is “Sauron,” the Lie is “the ring.” The Curse is our enemy – Death; the Lie is its power.
