8. The 'Gospel' of Death

Audio Only

To understand the gospel of Life, we must understand God and His purposes, that is, motivation. What does God want? Why does He want it? How does He accomplish His Desire? Where and in whom does He accomplish it? What does it look like when completed?

To understand the ‘gospel’ of death, we must begin in the same way. What is the initial motivation behind the setting forth of such a ‘gospel,’ and what do those promoting it hope to accomplish for themselves? When we approach the topic in this way, things quickly become clear, and we have no need to stumble in darkness.

A Show of Appearance. Paul gives us the motivation, and Jesus gives us the reasons for that motivation. More than that, God gave us a clear human opposition in the Pharisees, men of the Bible, who stood “for” God among His people. Towards Paul the Pharisees were even Christians, yet their motivation remained the same.

All those who wish to put on a good show of appearance inside of flesh compel you to be circumcised, but only so that they would not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. And not even these who circumcise themselves guard or watch over the law; but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast in [their victory over] your flesh (Galatians 6:12-13).

A “Fight” over Christians. Then this – These [Christian preachers coming from Jerusalem] falsely appear zealous towards you in order to separate you from us, and in order to get you to be zealous towards them (Galatians 4:17).

Jesus said that men love darkness because their deeds are evil. Darkness is another word for dishonesty. Thus we have concluded that the “leaven of the Pharisees” is dishonesty, putting on a face for outward show even while completely ignoring the failure inside. To put it bluntly, it’s a fight over the woman, to keep as many Christians as possible in “my flock” and away from yours, and then to boast over “sheeple” under my control.

Contempt Rules. The bottom line inside “fake apostles” is contempt for other Christians who just aren’t “getting it right.” You cannot be truly “superior” in Christian circles apart from more and more people beneath of you whom you can deem to be inferior. The more Christians who are inferior to you, the more superior you are, especially when they believe that you are preaching “God’s truth” to them, and when their pretending mirrors yours.

Now, the real opponent to them is a Jesus here and now, a Jesus who is actively all-Salvation and Life already fulfilled in each who belongs to Him, and then, by extension, people who are fixated on this Jesus, His Word and His Spirit.

False Leaders. Then consider Paul’s list in 1 Corinthians 2 of those who are rarely called by God into His House – the wise, the noble, the capable. In spite of this limitation, there are always those who are intelligent concerning manipulating people and strong in their foreheads towards others, who do become Christians. These individuals seize hold of the anointing freely poured out upon all and use it to become “leaders” in the Church. What these people cannot have is God showing up in His Church according to the gospel. If that happened, they would have to humble themselves beneath their fellow Christians, something not in their view.

Untangling the ‘Gordian’ Knot. Through this last week, a tangled knot of a puzzle that I have worried over for thirty-five years, deeply concerned by it, trying to untangle it without success, just came all apart and now its cords are laid out straight. I understand the false gospel.

That understanding came only out from my present diagram of the seven seals binding God’s people and from looking at the motive of those who require it. The motive is to keep from having to humble yourself before a God who reveals Himself to you in all glory through other Christians, these people whom you secretly despise and before whom you want to be superior.

A Base and Childish Motive. The motive is to keep God out of His House and to keep those who are truly connecting with God, born again and filled with the Spirit, under your control. God was threatening to reveal Himself through His people in Geneva, Switzerland, and John Calvin burned God’s door into Geneva, Michael Severus, at the stake. You see, it was either that, or humble himself before all these foolish people who WERE the very Lord Jesus Christ to him.

It is the refusal to see other Christians as the Lord Jesus Christ, for real, walking this earth, as the Bible clearly says. The motive is base, childish, crude, and meaningless.

Something Quite Different. My problem was this. I was trying to compare the ‘gospel’ of death as if it were a viable option to the Gospel of Life, clearly seen on the pages of the Bible. But when I saw the motive, it became something entirely different. At the same time, the layout of the Jesus Secret page shifted. It’s still basically the same things, but you will see how appropriate the layout has now become.

Before writing any of the boxes, I want to impart to you the same understanding I now have, and so I will set side-by-side two ways of seeing God’s people. On the one side is through the Mercy Seat and on the other side is through contempt.

Life versus Death. We have adjusted the layout of the seven spirits of anti-Christ slightly to see how the manipulation works. Behind Mercy is the Pillar of Fire, and behind contempt is refusal.

Two Ways of Seeing. Throughout John’s vision, we place ourselves only as the firstfruits of Christ towards His Church.
~~~
I see you through a God who is meek and lowly of heart and who sees others as better, a God who is Love. I see you inside of God and God inside of you. I see you filled with all the fulness of God. I see rivers of Spirit always flowing out from you.
~~~
Contempt sees you through a ‘God’ just like itself, a ‘God’ who knows evil, who is superior and distant. Contempt sees you inside your flesh, inside a ‘human nature’ that is always at war with God. Contempt judges you by outward appearance and sees that you never measure up, for you are always falling short. You cannot know God because you are evil.

Two Images of Jesus. The two hands in our diagram indicate two helpers or agents that accomplish the desired objective inside the life of the Christian. The gospel is filled with a capable Jesus inside of us accomplishing all. Contempt must diminish Him.
~~~
Let me point you to Jesus, your Life and every Word God speaks. He Himself comes into union with you through a God who carries you and Him together all the way through.
~~~
Contempt points you to a Jesus who is far away from you right now, a someday Jesus, an above-you Jesus. Contempt assures you that when you see God through this Jesus you will know just how wicked you really are.

Jesus for or Against You. Jesus is inside of you already and you are inside of Him. He is capable of All-Salvation; He is every Word God speaks fulfilled. Receive His Word through faith every moment. Acknowledge Jesus in all of His goodness in you, for He connects you always with the Father. Speak the same Word that He is, now your very soul. You are flesh of His flesh; you are spirit of His Spirit. You enjoy sweet communion with Jesus forever.
~~~
Contempt instructs that the only way for you to know this “Christ” is to get up out of yourself, to die to the flesh. If you don’t know how to do that, it’s because you are rebellious. Contempt also assures you that you will not see Jesus until after you are dead. Death is the way to life; too bad hades follows after, too bad that you are frightened out of your wits.
Confusion by Motive. Here is the key to understanding how this works. You cannot just get rid of Jesus or the gospel – “saved by grace through faith,” if you want to keep God out by keeping born again and Spirit-filled Christians corralled. And so there is no pattern needed in order to insert careful bits of the gospel, John 3:16, etc., a bit here and a bit there. The purpose for “grace” and “love” is to satisfy Christians.
The clever work comes in by convincing the Christian that they are not inside of God because of their flesh, and that the only way to know God is by attacking themselves. Know God by “death,” that is, by self-murder. Random verses in a war against self is the CONFUSION.
Absolute or Limited. Let me point you to an absolute Atonement, the cross, the blood, already finished and complete, total and infinite. This effective Jesus comes to you through a God who alone takes your sin from you. Give Him always your sin with yourself, place it nowhere else. For you yourself are kept utterly inside Jesus’ love for you.
~~~
At the left hand of contempt is a minimal atonement void of Jesus, an atonement that can be measured and sold.
~~~
Contempt points you to a limited and ineffective atonement that comes through a God who is ready to destroy you because you are rebellious and because you sin, a God who commands you to do what you cannot do and who punishes you when you fail.
God or Charade. Your life in this world is now pure and entirely of God. Give thanks inside of and for the sake of everything, speak good grace towards all things. Believe together with God to call all things good, for God shares your life with you and every circumstance is the Kingdom come out from Love. Never pretend. Enjoy your life, for God enjoys sharing it with you.
~~~
Contempt instructs you to finish the work Jesus back-then failed to accomplish towards you, by your outward show of performance. Try and try, and then cry enough, and contempt will allow you a bit of “atonement.” Dishonesty is okay; it’s all a charade, an absurd dance of faces.
~~~
Lying and crying believers are even more to be despised.
Motive. You will see through this side-by-side layout that I have included a description of each of the seven seals of Revelation 6 & 8 as well as their opposite – which in each case is a capable Jesus inside of you. Nonetheless, you can see the massive war taking place between the second witness of Christ and the false prophet, a war of MOTIVE, Mercy versus Contempt. This is the huge importance of having allowed God to deal with contempt in us and to turn us around in our study of John’s letters.
Our page now begins with the motive of contempt, that is, jealousy over the woman.
Contempt & Jealousy. The gospel of death exists only out from contempt for other Christians. It works as jealousy against Jesus, but seeks to limit Him rather than eliminate Him. It succeeds by turning the attention of the believer towards the failures of self. This success keeps contempt above and prevents the need to be under Christ in others.
Getting Rid of Jesus. Let’s now go to a definition of “faith.” You see, if faith is receiving every Word God speaks as the Lord Jesus in Person entering through “Let it be to me,” then contempt would be forced to place himself under his brothers and sisters and allow Jesus to be what He is.
Here is the bottom line, you can’t control other Christians without getting rid of Jesus, yet you must “get rid of Him” in a way that they do not notice. People WILL connect with Jesus through the Spirit, and so a little bit of that must be provided for, but it must be held tightly inside of dead-end corrals.
Defining a False “Faith.” As I have pondered the definition of “faith” in Nicene Christianity, from the Catholics to the deeper truth Pentecostals, it always boils down to a mental assent to the ideas promoted by the leaders of your group and a conformity of life that gains their approval. This definition is demonstrated when you “leave the group.” For every sect has one way or another to assert that you no longer connect with God. Even when this assumption is quiet, it is still brutal.
If you do not agree with our “Bible” ideas and if you do not submit to our ministry and conform to our practice, then you cannot be “connecting with” God.
The Approved Christian. The ‘gospel’ of death disregards Jesus in Person entering into the believer and finds a different criterion to determine if a person is a ‘Christian.’ This criterion varies from one group to the next, yet it remains the same. You must speak agreement with our Bible ideas, submit to our version of ministry, and perform in a way of which we approve. Only by our stamp of approval will you know that you are ‘connecting with’ God through faith.
A Perfection of Control. To control Christians you have to keep them away from the real Jesus and real Salvation. Yet if you do not allow them a partial Jesus and a partial salvation, they will go elsewhere.
In Symmorphy VII: Completion, 5.4 “Another Gospel,” I lay out the insertion of tares directly into the Bible, just a few tiny things that grew into mighty trees filled with demons. Jerome inserted an image of an evil God, and the Calvinist translators removed the overwhelming presence of a capable Jesus inside of us, and turned an unlimited sacrifice into a struggle against sin. They designed a perfection of control with just a few tares.
The Spin of Contempt. My self-made identity is built on my contempt for you. I am superior because you are beneath of me. If God were in you as Love, then I would have to humble myself under you – not in my picture. When I look at you, your appearance is despicable to me. Yet all these gospel verses place Jesus inside of you. Let me pretend to honor Him, even while I separate Jesus from you with a flick of my wrist – turning Him in every way into an “above-you” Jesus, just out of your reach.
You cannot know Jesus, and the big gospel verses cannot be speaking of you, because you are evil. If you imagine God is speaking of you, then you are damned.
Limiting All. The enemy of contempt is a capable Jesus inside each believer before whom contempt must bow. To keep control of the Christian, contempt allows a small measure of Jesus, but then makes Christ ‘super’ and “above-you” and the Atonement to be ineffective and not-enough. Contempt also sees a Christian through a ‘God’ just like itself, whose evil side trumps his good side. Using such a ‘God’ as a whip, contempt then turns the focus on the inability of the Christian and not on Christ.
First, you cannot be inside of God because you are ‘evil.’ As long as you are a weak and foolish human on this earth, the big verses of the gospel cannot apply to you and you cannot know God nor claim any real connection with Him. Then, the only way to reach an ‘above-you Jesus’ is to ‘arise’ out of yourself, to die as the cross requires, but failed to accomplish. Oh, and you see Jesus only when dead ‘in heaven.’ Finally, because the blood does so little for you, you must try better, and cry when you fail. It’s all a charade, loser.
The Charade. Now we come to the Christian life, otherwise known as living in hades. This is absolutely true; I KNOW from years of experience. When you impose self-death as the way to arise into “Jesus,” then a relentless hades must follow after.
Hell is the normal “Christian life” in Nicene Christianity.
Here is a believer living in All-Salvation now, inside of Jesus, inside of Victory and Life in all glory, yet contempt has convinced all of them that the only thing going on inside their bubble of self is a fight between good and evil. This is an impossible charade, yet it has worked!
The Christian Life.png
Our Diagram. Here is our diagram for the page. We will present the “Christian Life” in the first person, that is, as a confession of unbelief and of self-flagellation, that is, the worship of self. Because we define ourselves by Christ, we can see how dark and wicked a “Christian life” defined by CONTEMPT really is – refusing and lying.
Limiting Jesus. The entire work of the false gospel is one thing only – to limit Jesus towards and inside of the believer in every way possible. This is done for two reasons, first is a jealousy of Jesus and second is a refusal to go under with Father.
I am repeating myself because I want us to see that there is no “grand scheme of theology” which we must refute. Calling Jesus, “God the Son,” is just one more way to limit Jesus and separate Him from the believer. It is a pretend “honor” that seeks only to degrade. Jesus cannot be removed, so He is allowed with select and random gospel verses, just above “Woe Is Me.”
Woe Is Me. We now see clearly that Paul was describing life inside this horrific circle of self in Romans 7. We once imagined he was describing “the Christian life.” When we look at this darkness out from the joy of living inside of Jesus, all we can say is, “Thank you, Jesus.” Which is exactly how Paul responded after describing this mess, for the same reason and from the same place we say it.
A Christian who says, “Woe is me,” is doing nothing more than refusing Jesus in a base and childish manner. Christians do such a mean thing solely to maintain the same contempt for others shown to them by their preachers.
Targeting the Believer. All these wondrous gospel verses cannot be speaking of me because I am evil. They might be true of superior Christians such as these anointed preachers above me, but not me.
God’s word is not true of me, and it’s my fault.
Jesus cannot be with me because I am so fleshy. I want to be with Jesus, but I dare not, because I have to get rid of my weak humanity first. I cry out to God, but He doesn’t seem to answer me because nothing changes. I want these preachers to approve of me, so I will try my very best. I want them to think I have “repented,” so I will cry even more. I don’t have the time to see just how dishonest this whole charade really is; the truth would make me false.
The “Christian” Life. I want to be with Jesus, but I am so fallen short. Sin is my source, not the good-speaking of Christ. I am so ashamed of myself. Yet not for long, for after a bout of crying, I arise more righteous than all these other Christians. I make contempt my own. I will try harder; I will put on an outward show to gain the approval of ‘the man of God.’ I know that I have the life of Jesus inside of me, but I have my own sinful life even more. I must die to my flesh, though no one tells me how. I refuse to see how much I fail. The cross just doesn’t do it for me, for I am always climbing off and I must put myself back on it. I am so contrary to Jesus, woe, woe is me. But I perform better than all these others. I hate the way God made me; I curse the circumstances of my life.
Keeping God Out. Contempt’s real purpose is to prevent a second Incarnation, God filling His Church as Love, a Love who humbles Himself, a Love before whom all must bow. Describing Christians who acknowledge such an obvious gospel reality as “blasphemous” is just a smokescreen.
The hostility is against God, for no reason at all.
The target, however, is always God’s entrance into His creation, that is, people on this earth who believe that God is telling them the truth. In the end, then, the “fight” is between two sets of callers, those who call God in and those who decry God out.
Calling God In. As we saw in our study of “the caller” in A Highway for God, in the end everyone hears and responds to the true call, for it is glorious and true. Even while the false call puffs himself up, no one hears him, and he vanishes away. When you read “Life” versus “Death” separately from each other, the Joy of the first and the Hell of the second are astoundingly clear.
There is NO absence or limitation of Jesus inside of us, and as His witness in creation, His earth-heaven form, we prophesy Christ, we CALL God in!
Reading for Next Time. The next session is “God Affirms Me”; for that lesson, read Revelation 2:12-17 several times. In spite of the title, this is not a lesson on our finding a place inside of God. This is a statement of God coming through our authority upon the Mercy Seat.
This presentation of the gospel of death, which I will post on Facebook, makes us the target of all the proponents of Calvinism and Catholicism. We are their enemy.
To the one overcoming I will give the hidden manna, immediately and ongoing, and I will give him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written…
Let’s Pray Together. “God, our Father, You have placed us as overcomers upon Your Mercy Seat. Here inside of You, Oh God, we see through Your eyes, we see through eyes of Fire. Lord God, we look upon Your people all across the earth. We see them utterly inside of you, for you fill them with all of Your fulness. We see each one as the Lord Jesus to us, including even those who teach contempt.
“Father God, we cast down the spirits of anti-Christ who seek to diminish Christ inside of our brethren in their eyes, who teach them to turn against themselves in an awful worship of sin and self. You foul spirits, you have no more place in the Church.
“God, our Father, we call You into our world that You might be All-Love among us and inside Your Church, even as we call each one who belongs to Jesus into the Joy of knowing You. Father, our voice prevails, for it is the voice of Jesus, every Word You speak, and the voice of the accuser is silenced. Unbelief and lying have no more place inside Your House.
“Oh Lord God, come into Your House, enter the place of Your rest. We acknowledge You alone inside Your Church upon this earth, Your Jerusalem. Use us, Father, as You desire, to be a firstfruits of Your House, to be that center core of life and love inside Christ Community. Let it be so, even as we speak; it is so.”
