24. We Are the Completion

Audio Only:

Revelation 10 is an enigmatic chapter, quite mysterious, yet one that has always intrigued me. Here is the central verse, the verse that ties the core and the goal of Paul’s gospel together with the core and the goal of John’s vision. They are one and the same.

There shall be no more delay (time given). But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be completed as He Himself declared to His servants, the prophets.

– The mystery of God, which is Christ inside of you, the hope of glory, will be completed – before the final trumpet call.

The Entrances of the Angels. The entrances of the various angels in John’s vision have taken on a whole new meaning to me. I still see dimly, but I do see, for which I am deeply grateful.

The explosive reality at the heart and core of John’s vision is a Church on Fire. “A woman clothed with the sun” has been the central view of my own heart and purpose since I was twenty-years-old. Now, as we are going step by step through Revelation inside of the present Word of Christ, I see that John is making the entrance of this Church clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ to be far BIGGER than I ever imagined.

Another Strong Angel. Let’s look at this whole picture.

Then I saw another strong angel coming out from heaven, clothed with a cloud and with a rainbow upon his head. His face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire, and he had in his hand a little scroll opened. Then the angel placed his right foot upon the sea, and his left upon the earth; and he screamed with a loud voice as a lion roars. And when he screamed, the seven thunders spoke with their voices. When the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write; but I heard a voice out from heaven saying, “Seal the things the seven thunders have spoken and do not write them.”

Understanding this Angel. First, John is using cosmic electrical phenomena as was known by humans for 2000 years prior to Christ in order to describe this angel. This is a big and awe-inspiring, even terrifying fellow.

Then the seven thunders: this is a fifth list of seven in John’s vision. It is interesting that John, a human believer in Jesus, had the words of these seven thunders in his mind, but God did not transfer those words to us. We can safely assume that these seven thunders are parallel to the seven trumpets. We KNOW that they spoke only the simple truths of the gospel WRIT LARGE. Finally, the angel screams like the roaring of a lion.

The Oath of God. The point of everything John heard and saw in this momentous part of the vision is to increase the power of what this angel says, that we might KNOW its certainty.

And the angel whom I saw, standing upon the sea and upon the earth, lifted up his right hand into heaven, and swore inside of the One who lives into the unfolding of the ages, who created heaven with the things inside of it, earth with the things inside of it, and the sea with the things inside of it, “There will be no more delay! But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be completed as He Himself declared to His servants, the prophets.”

The Same Oath. The angel SWEARS inside of God, but not just “God,” rather, the One living into the unfolding of the ages, that is, the Kingdom, God sharing every next step with us. This is the same as the oath sworn to Abraham and thus to us inside the gospel, and it is for the same purpose.

For God, having made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater by which to swear, swore by Himself. – So that through two unchangeable deeds [spoken word and sworn oath], in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might possess STRONG encouragement, having already fled for refuge to seize hold of hope found already there (Hebrews 6:13 & 18).

The Mystery to Be Completed. The mystery which has been hidden and concealed from the ages and from the generations, has now been made clear and visible to His devoted ones, to whom God desires to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery, this SECRET, among the ethnic peoples, which is Christ inside of you, the hope of glory. We preach Christ, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, so that we may present every man perfect and complete inside of Christ (Colossians 1).

Paul is the greatest prophet of Christ until now, and we know all the other prophets of the Bible, Old Testament and New, only through the revelation of Christ Paul preached.

Daring Prophetic Utterance. And here, I think, is the most daring prophetic utterance of Christ that Paul gave voice to. The Church, which is His Body, the fulness of Christ who fills all inside of all.” Followed by “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ.”

A woman clothed with the sun. – Will be completed (before the resurrection, yet then becoming the resurrection). – Completion – Completion – Completion.

Certainty! – Strong encouragement! – Irrevocable Word.

No More Time. Now, the King James wants to say, “Time shall be no more.” That is definitely not what is conveyed by the Greek. It says, “There shall be no more time,” as in “Games are over, time is up,” that is, there is an allotted time for human folly and that time is over.

Here is another way of saying it. “The time of no faith on earth is over.” Or, “No more time is given to the ignorance of God among humans.” Or, “The time of Christians not loving one another is at an end.” This helps us to understand God’s meaning for “the fulness of times.” – It is time for completion to appear.

A Thunderous Proclamation. I do not pretend to know what the seven thunders uttered, but the context does imply that they spoke the completion of the mystery of God, the completion of Christ in us.

The title of this Jesus Secret page is “We Are the Completion.” I don’t know any better way to declare our completion inside of Christ Jesus than by a thunderous proclamation of the seven principles of Completion fulfilled in the Church, a proclamation equal in intensity to the sounding of the Trumpets. But I want to finish looking at this whole chapter before we begin laying out our page.

Another Strange Passage. And the voice that I heard out from heaven again spoke with me, saying, “Go, take the little scroll that is open in the hand of the angel standing upon the sea and upon the earth. So I went up to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little scroll.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it. It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” So I took the little scroll out of the hand of the angel and ate it. It was as sweet honey inside my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach was bitter. Then the angel said to me, “It is necessary for you to prophesy again concerning peoples, ethnic groups, and languages, and to many kings.

The Little Scroll. The larger scroll of Revelation 5 & 6 is the Word of Christ written upon the entire Christian Church, inside and out. This little scroll is that same Word written upon each one of us personally. This is a personal eating of Christ Jesus as every Word God speaks, that is, John Chapter 6.

Since I was a boy, the Word of the Gospel, both the pages of my Bible and the voice of God speaking to me, have been the greatest of value to me, sweet as honey, my treasure. Yet that same Word has made my life so very, very difficult, even bitter, especially since it places me with my Christian brethren and speaks into me, “Love one another.”

Are You Able? Clearly, this last line is pointing to the prophetic witness of Christ coming into the experience of all on earth as seen in the next chapter.

Consider this word spoken by Jesus. – Then James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus saying, “Teacher, we want You to do for us what we ask of You.” Jesus said to them, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said, “Place one of us on Your right hand and the other on Your left hand, that we might sit inside of Your glory.” Jesus said to them, “You do not know what You ask. Are you able to drink the cup which I drink? Are you able to be immersed into that in which I am immersed?”

A Cup and an Immersion. They answered Him, “We’re able. We can do it.” Jesus said, “You will drink the same cup I drink, and you will be immersed into that in which I am immersed. But to sit on My right hand or on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared” (Mark 10:35-40).

James and John were not born again; they did not know the mind of the Spirit. They interpreted everything Jesus said by their carnal intellect, imagining positions of power in false human kingdoms, as do most Christians today. Outwardly the John of the vision was the same person, but inwardly he now knew the true meaning of the cup Jesus drank – BECAUSE Jesus spoke Christ into John.

The Cup We Drink. Here is the full meaning of the Cup, as Jesus drank it and as we also drink it. This is the outworking of the gospel, the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Therefore receive one another in exactly the same way that Christ received you into the glory of God (Romans 15:7). – This One having loved us, this One having traded Himself for us, for our sakes (Galatians 2:20). – By this we have known love, in that He set forth His soul for us, and we also are committed to setting forth our souls for our brothers and sisters.

This is the completion of Christ, the fulfillment of the sweetest of Words, yet it is a very bitter Cup to drink.

Our Layout. The next two lessons are about the bitterness, and the glory, of this cup, first “Fire in the Earth” and second “The Measuring Rod.” Neither of these lessons have a Jesus Secret page, although we will draw one box out from “The Measuring Rod.” Both lessons lay the groundwork for the ministry of the second witness of Christ towards all Christians alive on this earth and connect the powerful COMPLETION of Chapter 10 with its fulfilment in the Church.

On this page, we will have the statements of faith followed by a definition of our/God’s completion, proclamations of that completion, and finally “Ask and Believe.”

Statements of Faith. The mystery of God, Christ inside of us, is complete. The coming resurrection of our bodies is complete. The time is now. We are the completion of God. We are the proving of Christ faithful and true. God is complete inside of us together. God does what He says.

We eat of the word of Christ and it is sweet to us, yet we know the cost and the travail of seeing that word fulfilled in all the Church. We drink the same cup as Jesus, we receive all our brothers and sisters in just the same way that Jesus receives us. We prophesy Christ to all.

The Appearance of Christ. We do not want just a dictionary definition of completion. We want what God means by the word “telos” for His Church, the end result, the final goal, what God had in mind from the start.

Individual completion and the completion of the Church go hand in hand, they cannot happen separately. The Church, which is His [physical] Body, the fulness of Christ who fills all inside of all [each one].

Yet completion is also a Bride, in the consummation of marriage, bringing forth the life of her Husband into the knowing and experience of all.

Loving One Another. Completion is the off-spring of the Church, seized into God and into His throne. We are the Completion of God; we are the unveiling of His mystery. This is very personal, a relationship of love and of life. There is nothing mechanical about the completion of God’s secret, the Jesus Secret.

The mystery of God, now complete, is the revelation of Jesus Christ to all creation through us, His Body, the fulness of all that Jesus is. The completion of Jesus is Christians loving one another.

Our Completion. The mystery of God, the Jesus Secret, is complete inside of us. We are the completion of Jesus; we love one another in just the same way that Jesus loves us. We receive one another; we set forth our souls for one another, whatever the cost. We are the Body and the fulness of Christ; we are the revelation of Jesus Christ. We are seized into God and into His throne. We bring the knowledge of God into the knowledge of all. Salvation now comes through us into all creation. As we walk together inside of Love, we have become normal humans once again. We together are God Revealed. We together show the Father to all.

Now for seven thunderous proclamations.

Every Word Fulfilled. Every word God speaks in the gospel is fulfilled in all of its meaning inside of and through you right here on this earth, right now in this age. The Word God speaks, the Lord Jesus Christ, has entered into you. It fulfills all that God means and intends. That Word returns to the Father complete, with you inside of it.

Every Word of the gospel, whether found in the Old Testament or New, is living and energeoing, it is written upon your heart as a Personal Spirit Word, Christ Jesus. You speak that Word back to God as the proof of Christ faithful and true – Love one another as I have loved you.

Synergeoing with God. God wants to do everything with you; you want to do everything with God. Sharing life with God is your only satisfaction and meaning. You and Father together are complete inside of Christ.

Every next circumstance in your life comes out from you and out from the Father, every moment. Your faith in God turns that next step you take into blessing for the sake of others. You synergeo with God to make all things good. Your next step is God through you. Your next step is the Kingdom, the safe dwelling place of that part of creation pertaining to you. You and God together make it good.

Full Assurance of Faith. You possess the faith of the Son of God. The faith that creates and sustains the universe fills you full. Every Word God speaks comes to you and you respond, “Look at me, God, I belong to You. Let this Word You speak be all that You mean inside of and through me.”

You walk in the absolute certainty of Father with you; you are rooted and grounded inside of Love. You set forth your soul for the sake of your brothers and sisters even as they do the same for your sake. You commit yourself to your local Church without reservation; you know God as “love one another” in all.

The Ability of Christ. The ability of the Lord Jesus Christ is made perfect and complete inside of your human inability and lack. You have no sufficiency in yourself; you never “try to perform” again. Jesus is all the sufficiency you need.

Jesus is Life, and so are you; you are as He is in all things. Jesus places Himself utterly inside of God, “God, you hear me, God, you answer me,” and so do you. Jesus speaks the Word of Salvation into all; He separates in all between life and death. And so do you. Jesus loves; Jesus sets forth His soul for all who receive Him, and so do you in all things.

The Fulness of Times. Today is the day of your Salvation. Every next moment is God through you into your world.

No more time is given to humans forcing death. The time of Life is come. You are the light of the world. You show all human violence to be impotent. You demonstrate all spiritual evil to be cast down and being bound with chains. You silence all accusation.

Today is the completion of God. Now is come the Kingdom. You love your brothers and sisters in this present time, even as they love you. You walk together as the Church, the revelation of Jesus Christ. You are now God-made-known.

The Place of the Church. You are a member of Jesus’ physical Body; you walk together as one with all who believe into Christ Jesus. “Love one another” is the completion of Jesus; the Church is where that happens. The Church is the Salvation of God, the place of His dwelling, the revelation of His glory.

You are committed to your local gathering. You know one another in the deepest of fellowships. You love one another with pure hearts fervently. When people see your Community of Christ, they know that they are seeing the Lord Jesus, they know that God is true. Your Church is the fountain of Life for all around.

Calling Completion. The old has passed away. All things are brand new; all things are now out from God. CALL it to be so.

You speak the same Word that is Jesus. You synergeo with God making all things good. You are the passage of God into your world. The ability of Jesus is perfect and complete inside of you. You are Salvation Revealed today. You are a member of all your brethren; you love one another in all. Acknowledge it to be so. Call God into your world.

God has bound Himself to your voice. God has limited Himself to your confidence. You and your brethren together reveal God-Love to all.

Proclaiming Completion. We speak seven thunderous proclamations of the completion of the Jesus Secret. We speak these things into our brethren that they might be clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ in all.

All Word Fulfilled: Every Word God speaks in the gospel, every word of Christ made visible, is fulfilled in you now to all the measure and fulness of Christ.

Synergeoing with God: You synergeo with God every moment, turning each next step of your life with Him into goodness for the sake of others.

Full Assurance of Faith: You possess the faith of the Son of God. You walk in the certainty of Father with you. You commit yourself to His Church.

The Ability of Jesus: The ability of the Lord Jesus is made complete inside your human inability. In all that He is, He is, as you, for others.

The Fullness of Times: Today is the day of your Salvation. Every next moment is God through you into your world. Now is come the Kingdom.

The Place of Church: You and your brethren together are the completion of Christ; you love one another. You are committed together in deep fellowship. Your Community is the fountain of Life.

Calling Completion: The old is gone; the new comes now out from God. You call it to be so. God speaks through you. You acknowledge the presence of God in all things. You and your brethren together reveal God-Love to all.

Contend with God. The power of the angel in Revelation 10 should compel us to contend with God concerning His Word. “God, is this Word You speak real? Is it true? Does it bring forth all that You mean inside of us together?” “God, we demand the fulfillment of Your Word, regardless of what it might cost us, for we would be with You.”

Before including the “Ask and Believe” box, however, I want to bring in a thought that God has only now brought into my realization. – Where do we find God’s people? This is a definition of reality that must now fill the remainder of our study of John’s vision.

Finding the Committed. In the early years of the move of God, pastors would invite Sam Fife to their church. Often the result was that the pastor and many of that congregation became part of the fellowship and sometimes moved to community together.

Most of God’s people right now are under the covering of a pastor and members of a congregation. They will come into this word together, following their pastors. Some who are not part of a real fellowship are solitary for the wrong reasons. Yet God most certainly has a remnant. I know that my readers are of that remnant. Nonetheless, it is not among the rebellious that we must find our brethren, but among the already committed.

Ask and Believe. Lord Jesus, You say that You are the Father speaking inside of me, ‘I have loved you, special and close, every moment of your life.’ You say, inside of me, “Father, You are always with me. God, You answer me.’ You have filled the hole in my heart, Lord Jesus, You have made me whole; I am complete inside of you. Jesus, You say that I know the Father even as I know You. You say that I share life with God. Lord Jesus, I receive You in all that You speak as my own life. I am confident in You that every Word God has spoken is made full and complete inside of me, that You reveal yourself faithful and true through me and together with my brethren. Lord Jesus, You have made us to love one another in all.

Reading for Next Time. The next lesson is titled “Fire in the Earth.” This is an expansion of the coals of fire from the Altar of Incense being cast into the earth. It is a similar topic as is found in “19. Judgment on Earth” and “22. The Number of Its Name” in Through Eyes of Fire. But for this session I want you to read “37. Word as Fire” and “38. Sent as Judgment” in A Highway for God.

The work of each will become visible; indeed, the day will make it clear because it is unveiled inside of fire; and …the fire itself will prove. …Saved, yet as through fire (1 Corinthians 3:12-15). Fire is good. God is a consuming Fire. Fire is Love.

Let’s Pray Together. “God, our Father, You have given us Your word to speak fulfilled into our brothers and sisters across the earth. The time is now, Oh God. No more time is given to human folly. Thank You, Thank You, Father.

“Fill our eyes with Your Fire, Lord Jesus, that we might see You upon all who love You, that we might see Your Church inside of Your glory. As we see Your Church, Lord Jesus, and as we call her to be so, even so she steps forth as LIFE into all creation.

“Your Church is glorious, Lord Jesus; she is pure and devoted. We give our lives to You for her sake forever.”
