The next step in your learning of Jesus now living as you – Learn of Me – is your approach to the Ark of the Covenant.
Except the Box itself that contains the Covenant is not what first catches your attention and HOLDS your overwhelming interest. It is the lid upon that box that captures your attention. And upon the lid, called the Mercy Seat, is BLOOD.
This lesson is about knowing the meaning of that BLOOD all through your heart, soul, and mind, until it defines all that you know of yourself and of Christ living as you. – Blood upon the Seat of Mercy.
The Mercy Seat. The single most important reality of the Mercy Seat is that it is covered with Blood. The second is God’s statement to Moses, “There I will meet with you.”
Mercy is the completion of the sacrifice, its final resting place.
Not Enough? There is a concept in Christian thinking called “limited atonement.” There are few accusations against God more awful than those two words together.
What is “limited” in regards to the atonement is the knowledge of what it is and means. And the Bible does teach us that this knowledge unfolds in its season, and that some wait until a future age for their season of knowing.
But in reality, the term “limited atonement,” as it is used by most, means – The cross of Christ is not enough for me. – The blood of Jesus is not enough for me. – The life of the Lord Jesus Christ is not enough for me.
Absolute Profundity. As we gaze at that Blood sprinkled upon the Seat of Mercy, let’s set out the absolute profundity of the Atonement. Absolute means fixed, unchangeable, and including all. Profundity means deep, far, and reaching out to touch all.
The offering of the body of Jesus once for all – one unlimited sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 10:10 & 12). If One died for all, then all died (2 Corinthians 5:14).
He is the propitiation [sprinkled with Blood] all around the sins of the entire cosmos (1 John 2:2). Inside of Adam all die, so also inside of Christ all will be made alive (1 Corinthians 15:22).
All That I Need. For out from Him and through Him and into Him are all things (Romans 11:36). – The old things are already gone; look and see, the New has already become. And all things are out from God (2 Corinthians 5:17-18).
You have a job to do, now, inside your first season of time inside the Holy of Holies.
You must consider the Death of Christ upon the cross and all that it means inside of you until you say, all through your own story of self. – The Death of the Lord Jesus already finished inside of me is all that I need.
The Only Life I Am. You must consider the Blood sprinkled upon Mercy and all that it means inside of you until you say, all through your own story of self. – The Blood of the Lord Jesus already shed for me is all that I need.
You must consider the Life of the Lord Jesus arising brand new out from death, and all that it means inside of you until you say, all through your own story of self. – The Life of the Lord Jesus now the ONLY LIFE I am is all that I need. I have no need to imagine any “life” of my own.
Christ IS my life; I have no other life. Christ is all there is in me. His Atonement is finished; His Atonement is all I need.
The Cross BEHIND You. Consider your present position inside the Holiest. In relation to you now, where is the Cross? The Cross is entirely and utterly BEHIND you.
And now, having begun your emergency rescue by first passing through that Cross in the outer court, that Cross has now become your Protector, keeping all sin and death entirely outside of your sphere.
The Death of the Lord Jesus Christ behind you means that now you can pursue the knowledge of everything in the Holiest, knowing Father and knowing Jesus Sent into you, without ever considering sin or death.
The Two Cherubim. You are KEPT and you are MADE HOLY. KEPT works within your inner man and MADE HOLY works within your outer man, the two cherubim upon the Mercy Seat, and they are mighty in their doings.
In His prayer just before Gethsemane, Jesus commanded the Father, “Father, KEEP them.” And He commanded the Father again, “Father, MAKE them HOLY.” God DOES what Jesus tells Him to do.
You who are KEPT inside of the power of God (1 Peter 1:5). – For by one offering, He has perfected those who are continuously being MADE HOLY [by God] (Hebrews 10:14). – Upon firm we stand (Hebrews 3:6 & 14).
The Word of the Blood. The Blood, however, is not “behind you”; the Blood is now sprinkled upon your heart. Here is the Word that describes that Blood.
Therefore brethren, having already a free and bold proclamation of entrance into the Holiest inside the blood of Jesus consecrating for us a newly sacrificed as well as a living way through the veil, that is, through His flesh; and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us approach [everything inside the Holiest] with a true heart, in full assurance of faith; having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness; and having our bodies washed with pure water (Hebrews 10:19-22).
Hearts Sprinkled. Hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness. – NO consciousness of sins.
On the negative side, the Cross negated all your sin and all of that old thing that once opposed God. On the positive side, the Cross protects you now from all that is the law of sin and death.
On the negative side, the Blood negates all your sinfulness, by allowing Jesus to call it His own, to live now as you, not “in spite of,” but including ALL your human weakness. On the positive side, the Blood is the source and fount of the LIFE, the Energeia, now arising as you.
The Arising of Life. The LIFE of Christ, now your life as well, then, is what the whole thing is about.
The negating of Cross and Blood is defined by the words of Jesus on the Cross – IT IS FINISHED! The arising of LIFE out from the Blood sprinkled upon your heart is LIFE forevermore, the LIFE out from which all the ages to come will unfold.
You have entered the Holiest to learn one thing – the LIFE of the Lord Jesus Christ, now your life as well. And both Cross and Blood work to allow you to do without distraction the one thing that counts – Learn of ME!
KNOW That Life. The Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ IS the only definition of your own life every moment.
In your third season in the Holiest, God is going to ask you to do something you have never considered before. Before you can be ready for that incredible action of faith, you must KNOW all that is the LIFE of the Lord Jesus, now the only life you are.
I am safe and made whole inside of the life of Christ (from Romans 5:10). – Inside of Him, you are made full, fulfilled, and complete (Colossians 2:10). – We also walk inside of newness of life (Romans 6:4).
Inside Already! Let’s go back through the verse that RULES the How of our Salvation so that we might know it, here, inside the Holiest. Having already a free and bold proclamation of entrance into the Holiest.
The idea that you are to “enter into” the Holiest is part of the false twisting of the evil one that you just escaped.
From the moment you asked Jesus into your heart, you have been living nowhere else but inside the Holy of Holies. You possess the RIGHT to shout at the top of your lungs in public that you are ALREADY inside the Holy of Holies, you already live only inside of God.
Placing the Flesh. Inside the blood of Jesus consecrating for us a newly sacrificed as well as a living way through the veil, that is, through His flesh.
The Blood makes the death of Jesus upon the Cross (newly sacrificed) and the seizing of all your present sinfulness by Jesus Himself (a living way), to be all that you need, in order to live, as you are, here inside of God.
Through His flesh, then, means that Jesus’ flesh is now yours and your flesh is now His. – Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not give thought [one way or the other] regarding the desires of the flesh (Romans 13:14).
Our Connecting Bond. Having a High Priest over the house of God. It is Jesus alone who connects Father with you, first, and then you with Father, second. Jesus is your ever present and continuous bond with God.
Jesus is always the initiator. You can never enter into union with Jesus. Jesus is always entering into union with you. Jesus is always coming forth from Father into you, first, connecting God with you in all ways. Jesus is always going forth from you to Father, in response, connecting you with God in all ways.
Jesus SENT into you; Jesus CARRYING you into Father.
What God Has Cleansed. Having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscious- ness; and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Let’s place these two more possessions of ours before the mighty and incredible thing we do, here inside of God. No consciousness of sins, sprinkled with Blood. Our hearts are the Mercy Seat of God; Christ lives in our hearts through faith.
“Our bodies” refers, not only to our flesh, our physical human form, but to all things inside our natural sphere. – What God has cleansed you must not call unclean (Acts 10:15). – Present your bodies living and holy (Rom. 12:1).
As Children Playing Pirates. Our question then is, finding ourselves here inside of God, completely separated from all that opposes, what is it that we are to do? Let us approach [everything inside the Holiest] with a true heart, in full assurance of faith.
A “true” heart means an honest heart. Be real, be yourself, do not pretend, nor attempt to tell any story of your own separate from Christ now living as you.
You have been unloosed, as if as children playing pirates here inside of God, running after every treasure you find to seize as your own. Do so, in FULL ASSURANCE of faith.
My Daddy, the Father. Here is your job, then, as you come to KNOW what it means to live inside of Jesus and Jesus inside of you.
This is age-unfolding life, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (John 17:3).
Blood upon Mercy MEANS – no distractions at all.
Busy yourself, with all that you are, in every moment, even when you are at your worst, first, with knowing Jesus Sent into you, now living as you in all that you are, and second with KNOWING this Mighty BEING, this All-Carrying One, who tells you to call Him, “My Daddy, the Father.”
