A New Spirit follows as part of any discussion concerning a New Word.
Spirit is how one sees and how one knows. Word is what one sees and what one knows. Heart is why one sees and why one knows.
Consider seeing in the present darkness. Everyone sees themselves as outside of the Lord Jesus and thus each looks at others and sees them also completely separate from the good-speaking of Christ. I’m talking about Christians. This false seeing, then, engenders words of accusation and shame and produces a world of accusation and shame.
Seeing Inside of Jesus. But one who sees themselves entirely inside of the Lord Jesus, looking out through His eyes, speaking His same word as themselves (homologia), then sees all others as coming out from the same good-speaking.
This seeing is the New Spirit inside of which the good Words of Jesus form a New World.
Wow, we now have a further understanding of a central truth of God and man. – But, as it is written, “What eye has not seen (spirit), and ear has not heard (word), and into the heart of man has not entered, what God has prepared (a new world) for those loving Him.”
To us indeed, God has unveiled it through the Spirit, for the Spirit searches all, even the depths of God (Word). Who indeed among men knows the things of the man (word) if not the spirit of the man that is inside of him? Even so also, no one knows the things of God (Word) except the Spirit of God. More than that, we have not received the spirit of the world (old), but the Spirit who is out from God (New), that we might know the things (word) having been given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words taught of human wisdom, but in words taught of the Spirit as spiritual to spiritual judging together (1 Corinthians 2:9-13).
That last phrase “as spiritual to spiritual judging together” is an adjective description of Spirit-taught “words.”
A Dark Seeing. At the time that we lived in Oregon, my older brother had been involved in a heavy-duty deliverance ministry for people who had suffered abuse at the hands of the power people in business and government.
In doing so he learned of so many dark things taking place on the tops of the hills and at specific sites in Oregon, and he shared those dark things with us whenever we visited. His testimony was reinforced by other Christians with whom we had contact at the time.
The result was that I could not see the beautiful green hills of my home without also seeing Satanic worship.
Where Is Jesus? Because of my concern, I connected with a move community in Alaska, thinking we should flee there. God said, “No.” And then He spoke something else to me, something very important. He said, “Don’t fight giants I have not placed before you.”
Sadly, however, my seeing of Oregon was affected for many years after.
Here is my point. It’s easy to see darkness and evil, flesh and demons triumphant everywhere one looks. And so the Church has done in this world. But seeing Jesus? He’s too small and far away.
A Clear Distinction. You might say, “Well, Daniel, why then do you teach us not to connect with the associations of this world?”
This is where a knife must pass precisely through, dividing what is false from what is true. The inter-relationships among humans and demons that constitute “the world,” is one thing. The individual people are something entirely different.
Yes, the powers of this world are under the control of the evil one in their connections together. But the individual people belong only to God and are coming out from the good-speaking of Jesus.
Spirit out from Seeing. The seeing of judgment, then, splits precisely between these two, separating an individual person from his or her connections with others in the darkness on the one hand, and from that person’s wrongful actions – not imputing their false steps to them (2 Cor. 5) – on the other hand.
Now, just as with a New Word, so we have not experienced this New Spirit known by all. All we can do is to tack different ideas together. – Here, then, is a first conclusion.
Just as the ordering of the world comes out from the speaking of our mouths, so the spirit ruling over the world comes out from the seeing of our eyes. False appearance has continued because of the speaking and seeing of Christians.
The Role of Science. Another thought regarding a New Spirit upon all humanity is the place and role of human knowledge, that is, science.
The accusation is that God did not want humans to know science and so He forbade them to eat of the tree of knowledge. But the other guy freed us from this tyrannical “God” and gave us knowledge. This, of course, is complete nonsense.
Nonetheless, knowledge that comes separate from the life of the Lord Jesus Christ must be incomplete and it must bring cursing right along with any benefit that it gives. And so human science has been, good mixed with evil.
Evil Consequences. In teaching English Literature, I emphasized a study of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and assigned each student a “Frankenstein” topic in the present day, that is, human scientific pursuit that brings unintended evil consequences.
This perverted version of “science” is the only science humans know today.
A New Spirit, and new light, means that human science flowing out from the tree of life will produce blessing only, with no sorrow in it. People will not be eating and breathing poison, and knowledge will not be used for war. Yet incredible blessings unknown to us now will flow out from the new science.
Unique and Free. A new seeing, a new light, a new knowing, a New Spirit. And this New Spirit will envelop the consciousness of all humans worldwide.
Nonetheless all humans remain both unique and free, and thus the response to and the expression of this New Spirit will vary greatly from one to the other.
Modern science developed only inside of Christian thinking, and much of it came by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Nonetheless, the events of 1914 to 1945 shattered that whole way of knowing and from then until now, “science” has become its own religious belief system.
Jesus the Scientist. I say this in order to speculate just a bit. What would a science be that came only through the Tree of Life, out from the Lord Jesus, who is the cause of all physics and chemistry, biology and astronomy.
People just don’t get it. If these things exist, and all the beauty and wonder of the natural world, then all these things are coming out from God through Jesus. God knows more science in a teacup than all the study of humans for millions of years. Jesus is the true scientist.
What will the Age of Tabernacles, the next one thousand years, be like inside a new science?
What Will It Be? If I were to write fictional stories, my inclination would be fantasy stories. I have made a few forays in the direction of writing fantasy epics over the years, including recently, but it is not where my heart takes me. My heart is committed to this Word of Christ our Life.
Nonetheless, here is my point. If we were to write a great story set inside the Age of Tabernacles, a couple hundred years from now, what would it be like? – More to the point, what will it actually be?
Even Christian writers of “futuristic” tales, place their world as an extension of the knowledge of good and evil.
Seeing Is Receiving. What will human society, education, and story-telling be like inside a world where all knowledge comes only through Life, through the seeing and judgment of Christ, with no evil or sorrow attached?
We can only speculate; nonetheless, this is not an idle exercise. You see, it is the transformation of our present seeing together that will be the source and cause of this new world.
Yet seeing is not an “acting upon,” as in “power flowing out”; seeing is a receiving, as in perception flowing in. A new seeing is how we receive each individual person.
God’s Tithe. Let’s place these thoughts, then, into Community in the Age of Tabernacles, that is, just a few years away.
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10).
I am convinced that the tenth part belonging to God is Christian Community in which lives about ten percent of the population in any given area. Out from this tithe in God’s House there flows the blessings of an open heaven.
The Apocalypse. These outpoured blessings, then, are the consequence of a new seeing and a New Spirit coming out from our private sharing together as the Church inside Community.
This new seeing that we are learning together, then, will be the cause of the GREAT transition about to take place in human history. Some call it the Apocalypse.
We know it as the revelation of Jesus Christ.
The Veil has been only upon our eyes, for with our Christian brethren we have seen only by the old. Our new seeing is the apocalypse, the cover being removed.
Jesus Gets Bigger. We are learning to SEE together all things as they are. All seeing that has been familiar to us has been only the odd and nonsensical notions of our human fantasy, judging everything falsely by good and evil.
To see things as they really are is to see as Jesus already sees. And to consider such a thing, we must delve even further into physics and biology. Every aspect of physics, chemistry, and biology in the natural world, as things actually work, happens entirely through Jesus and by His good speaking.
What we are doing is making Jesus larger and more consequential than we have ever considered Him before.
Seeing Jesus. All becomes through Him and without Him nothing becomes (John 1:3 – reduced).
The electrons swirling in an atom, the reaction of chemicals together, the flow of light photons from the sun, the photosynthesis taking place in the leaves of a plant, ALL these things are occurring ONLY out from the word of power being spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ. If we’re not seeing Jesus everywhere we look, we’re not seeing.
And this is really cool, because nothing is up to us, we don’t “make things happen.” Seeing is entirely receiving.
Not Seeing Evil in God. As we see everything, then, as flowing out from the Tree of Life, that is, out from the Person of the Lord Jesus, and as we share this new seeing together as the Church, so we cause the same seeing to happen in others through our words and actions. This is the revelation of Jesus Christ.
But that brings something else into this discussion. From the first that I started writing, I carried the deep need to place evil far away from God who does not know it.
Placing Adam and the serpent has not been intellectual speculation for me, but the driving NEED of God in me. Father did NOT create Satan evil or tempt man with evil.
Evil Actions Do Not Endure. We must be able to see all things brand new without the wicked practice engaged in by some of ascribing EVIL actions as part of “all things,” and thus, part of God.
I am fully satisfied that every evil action is an act belonging only to the one doing it in the present moment and that it does not endure. That is, every evil action WILL come to full resolution and to the mutual satisfaction of all parties involved.
Every evil action WILL result in the most surprising of friendships and the most un-thought-of consequences inside the goodness of a God who, with us, makes all good.
Three Working Together. I can look at our world today and see all things as coming out of God through Jesus even while separating evil actions in all judicial and causal realities, bringing judgment to the actions, but the seeing of Christ to all.
Now, in all the reality of these three new things, a New Word, a New Spirit, and a New Heart, none of these three ever works on its own without the other two fully involved. Only in the classroom do we look at each distinctly.
Thus, in the next lesson, after defining “A New Heart,” I hope to show how these three things might work together inside the New World arising now from us.
