15. Into the Holiest - for Notes

The Holiest is NOT the end of your journey. The truth is, you have not started your journey. Once you are fully inside the Holiest, having placed the Lord Jesus Christ upon your fleshy sinfulness, the possibility now exists for you to begin your journey.

The Journey is the Ark of the Covenant going forth into every place AS the Holiest. But your journey with God is yet ahead, first we must place the Holiest and understand what it is and what the purpose of your entrance into the Holiest is all about.

The Holiest is John 14:20; it is Ephesians 3:19.

The Two Biggest Verses. Let’s put these two verses side by side.

Know that I am inside of the Father and you inside of Me and I inside of you. Know the surpassing, beyond-all knowledge of the love of Christ – be filled with all the fullness of God.

These two verses, and their companions, are HUGE and absolute. I have been teaching them for over ten years and what I find in them has never ceased to increase and never will. But this lesson is “into” the Holiest. The next several lessons are about the meaning of these verses. Let’s go back to how we arrive into this level of knowing.

The Censer in the Holiest. We must understand that there are two “versions” of the Altar of Incense in the pattern God gives to us. There is the Golden Altar in front of the Veil and the censer carried through the Veil and into the Holiest.

Then he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before the Lord, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil. And he shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the Mercy Seat that is on the Testimony (Leviticus 16:12-13).

This censer is a picture of a continuation of the purifying of God inside of your first knowing of full union with Christ.

The Passage through the Veil. We are spending a fair bit of time looking at this passage through the Veil and into the Holiest.

First, we set out all the issues by which God’s people either choose not to enter or imagine they have no right to enter.

Then we see that the purifying work of God can be completed ONLY inside the Holiest. Those who cannot place their flesh upon Jesus do not understand that the only thing that removes what is wrong is living only inside of Him, allowing Him to be all our sinfulness.

Christ must be all first before anything not Christ could ever vanish away.

Free to Enter. Let’s set out the two ruling verses by which we KNOW this entrance into living only inside of Jesus.

Therefore brethren, having already a free and bold proclamation of entrance into the Holiest inside the blood of Jesus consecrating for us a newly sacrificed as well as a living way through the veil, that is, through His flesh; and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us approach [everything inside the Holiest] with a true heart, in full assurance of faith; having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil consciousness; and having our bodies washed with pure water (Hebrews 10:19-22).

We have to KNOW that we are FREE to enter.

The “Game Changer.” Here is the verse, then, that is the “game changer” for us.

I have been crucified with Christ. I live, however, but no longer I. Christ lives inside of all that is me. More than that, the life I now live inside this sphere of flesh, I live entirely inside the sphere of the faith of the Son of God, this one having loved me and having given Himself [traded Himself] entirely for me (Galatians 2:20).

The cross is not in front of you, but entirely behind you. You ARE crucified with Christ. EVERYTHING that needed to be cut off from you is gone. It is finished (John 19:30).

Now, Jesus Himself lives inside of ALL that is you.

Running through Faith. There is a whole lot in these two critical verses that will grow in your understanding, but only as you live utterly inside of Jesus and He inside of you.

Hebrews 10:19-22 convinces us that the Way into the Holiest is wide open, that everything one might need is fully provided and that we are to run in with all boldness. And Galatians 2:20 convinces us that there is NOTHING that can hold us back.

Living inside of the Holiest, then, is entirely through faith and not by any human performance. No “strange fire” can enter. Yet this faith is Jesus’ faith, now yours as well.

Word Entering into You. These two absolutes, “I am free to enter BOLDLY,” and, “NOTHING holds me back,” are necessary for you to seize with ferocity, but they are not enough for you to know what living inside of Jesus really means.

Those having refused to be persuaded… were not able to enter in through unbelief, {no one can enter [into God] through the absence of faith}. …the word of their hearing did not benefit them, [the word] not having been mixed together [the fusing of sperm and egg] with the faith of those having heard (Hebrews 3:18-4:3 – reduced).
The thing that brings you in is the Word that is Jesus entering into you through your faith to become your life.

Mary’s Example. God gives us the incredible picture of the Word heard by Mary entering into her through her faith to become Jesus Himself being formed inside of her womb.

Mary “mixed that word together with her faith.” And her response to the Word coming to her is God’s intention for all. Here are her words. Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38).

We say the same thing, with all boldness, towards every word of the gospel entering into us. The Word itself has the power to be what it is in us.

Run with All Your Might. In Pilgrim’s Progress, John Bunyan gives us a picture of a man seeking life, putting his fingers in his ears so as not to hear all the false things being said to him, and running with all his might towards the entrance into life.

The real entrance into Life is not the Gate, but the Veil, or should we say, Gate-Door-Veil, as fast as we are able.

We know that all believers are already inside of Christ, for God put us there. – Out from God, moreover, you are inside of Christ Jesus, who has become as us wisdom from God and just innocence and also as us devotion and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).

Faith Flees into Life. God put you into Jesus in Gethsemane and He carried you inside Himself all the way through death and into life.

Nonetheless, as you receive into yourself every Word God speaks as Jesus Himself, you must close your ears to all opposing voices. Faith seizes hold of every Word God speaks against the sight of the eyes, the feelings of the emotions, the voices of others, and the judgment of the flesh.

The accuser, the one accusing you in the very face of God day and night (Revelation 12:10 – modified). And faith flees into that Word as Life itself.

Christ Is My Life. Let’s go step-by-step through what happens as we flee into knowing Christ alone. First, from the second part of Galatians 2:20, along with many other verses, we say this – Christ is my life. From the first part of Galatians 2:20 along with many other verses, we say this – I have no other life. Then, from Colossians 3:11, along with many other verses, we say this – Christ is all there is in me.

– Christ is my life; I have no other life. Christ is all there is in me. –

And we know this “Christ” as Jesus personally and actively, not just saving us, but all that Salvation is.

Sprinkled with BLOOD. Then, in the strength of Hebrews 10:19-22, we run upon Blood, magnifying to infinity the Blood shed for us – sprinkled from all consciousness of sins – washed utterly clean – and we run with all our might into knowing our full and present union with Christ AND knowing nothing else.

Jesus – what I am right now, regardless, is You living as me, sharing all my form together with me, responsible for all that I am.

And we close our ears to every wailing cry coming at us from every direction. Remember that Satan even uses Bible verses, preached by preachers, to tempt you to turn away from Christ to “Oh me, oh my, I am fallen short.”

Look at Me, God. But that’s only one side of it; the other side is embracing what God speaks with all fervency as our only reality.

Here is the biggest word we must receive. – KNOW that you ARE inside of ME and I AM inside of YOU. – Be filled with all the fulness of God. How on earth could you receive such a word? The littlest child can do so easily.

Look at me, God. I belong to You.
Let it be to me according to all that You mean
by this Word that You speak, the Lord Jesus.

And then we believe we have received all that we ask.

Believe You Have Received. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them (Mark 11:24).

When you ask God to fulfill His word – BE FILLED with all the fullness of God – then, according to Jesus, you honor God only by believing and confessing that you have already received all that you ask.

– Christ is my life; I have no other life. Christ is all there is in me. I am filled with all the fullness of God my Father. – And shut your ears to every other voice until those false voices cease.

Faith Refuses to Hear. Faith disregards the sight of your eyes, all outward appearance. Faith disregards the feelings of your emotions, whether they be high or low. Faith disregards the judgment of the human, whether your own or others.

The word “disregard” is important, the Greek word means “refusing to hear.” We are aware of the voices, but we NEVER turn our face towards them.

And Faith shouts boldly, “I am filled with all the fullness of God my Father,” and never ceases or ever thinks otherwise.

Learning Jesus as You. For me, this run through the “Veil of darkness,” of speaking “Christ is my life; I have no other life; Christ is all there is in me,” even while refusing the endless howling wails of every accusation I have ever heard, of every Bible verse and line preached that spoke against Christ my life, this passage of calling my flesh by Jesus, REGARLESS of how horrific I felt, lasted about nine months.

Then I spent about three-and-a-half years in the sweet and precious learning of what it means to live in knowledge of Jesus living as me before God slowly took me on to the next step in His Tabernacle journey.

This time of learning Jesus as you is the next lesson.
