36. Calling God In

© Daniel Yordy – 2021

We could title this letter as “Symmorphosed—Ekenosed.”

It takes a long time to see what God actually says. Paul invented both of these words. The first time he used symmorphos it was as a ‘verbal.’ That means an action verb in adjective mode. The only time he used ekenosen it was a direct-action verb.

To symmorphose with us is something God does in response to our faith; to ekenose God through us is something we do, Christ as us, by God’s great desire. Both together are what everything is all about.

And when the action is finished, the testimony of God concerning us is that we have overcome, the ruling action of the Bible and the universe.

To ekenose is to call an invisible God into visibility through our shared form. The truth is, God cannot be “in” unless we call Him “through” our human person and being.

We desire symmorphy, God with us; God desires ekenosis, God through us. This is what a human is; this is the meaning of being human forever.

The second ruling verse defines the symmorphy side of things, our human form, filled with all the fullness of God. The third ruling verse defines the ekenosis side of things, rivers of Spirit flowing out.

Look at the definition of hope from the last chapter. – Set your hope as all assertive expectation upon the carrying and sustaining, enabling and energeoing presence of God.

This is God inside of us, sharing our “form” with us, form being all that we are, including our daily lives. – Symmorphosed with the image of His Son.

Faith, then, is God through us. Calling is the action of faith.

We have begun to pray prayers together in our Zoom meetings in which we are calling God into our world. This is good, because I am now able to speak of a small measure of practicality – this is what it looks like. Yet we know that our understanding of such a wonder will increase forever.

Yet we must ask the question – what do we mean by “Calling God in?” We mean that our very presence, both as individuals and as our love for one another together, causes people to be fully aware of God. When people see us, they say, “Now I know that God is here with us. Now I know that God is love.”

Let’s practice the simplest form of calling God through us into our world, as the speaking of faith out from expectation and with all authority.

GOD, You are love through me. God, YOU are love through me. God, You ARE love through me. God, You are LOVE through me. God, You are love THROUGH me. God, You are love through ME!

Very simple. Then we believe God is.

I want to include, now, the entire section on the Ekenosis from The Jesus Secret II.

The Ekenosis
Let this exact same gut-level manner of thinking be inside of you that was inside of Christ Jesus, who existing continuously and actively inside of the form and existence of God [that is, all here now and Personal in us], did not hold tightly to the gut assumption of being equal with God. Rather, having already willingly taken hold of the form of a slave, Himself ekenosen, that is, He Himself called an invisible God into visibility, becoming the same as humans. And having been found in outward appearance as a human, He humbled Himself, that is, revealed God as one who sees others as better, actively becoming hearing-under for the sake of others all the way to death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:5-8).

I share the same gut-level heart thinking with my brothers and sisters in Christ; we possess the same love; we are united in soul. Indeed, we share the same self-story and the same heart-thinking.

This is the heart-mind of Christ, that deep inner self-story that is Jesus as Jesus shows to us the very nature and Person of God. And this God who connects with us through Jesus is meek and lowly of heart, a Being who thinks more highly of others than of Himself.

Out from that same heart-thinking of the Father through Jesus, then, in the same lowliness of mind, I also esteem my brothers and sisters as better than myself, even as they also esteem me as better than themselves in full reciprocity. We do not consider our own things only, but we also consider the things important to each other.

Then, inside this same heart-gut thinking that I share with Jesus, I also call forth an invisible God to be known through me, just as Jesus did, and to be known as our love for one another as the revelation of God.

As God shows Himself through me, so I humble myself, even to setting forth my soul, just like Jesus did, for the sake of others. I know that I share glory with Jesus.

Ask and Believe: Lord Jesus, You say that I share with You the same gut-level thinking that was Your own relationship with Father through Your days in a solitary appearance on this earth. You say that I call an invisible God into the knowledge of others through my human appearance, that when others see me, they are seeing You revealing Father to all. Jesus, You say that I share a meek and lowly heart with God, that is, I share You with God. Jesus, You say that God is made known through my brothers and sisters together, as we share this same gut-thinking with You.

Lord Jesus, I ask that You be in me the Ekenosis of God, the becoming visible and known of an invisible and unknown Father. I ask that You be the call of my voice in calling Father to appear always in all my interactions with my brethren. I ask that You be in me this same shared Hheart with Father. I ask that You be Father revealed through me.

Let it be to me as You say, Lord Jesus; it is so. I know and confess that my Father reveals Himself through me and through the same gut-level thinking I share with my brethren.

Meek and Lowly of Heart. I know that God is meek and lowly of heart and that He sees all others as better than Himself. I know that God walks beneath of all, carrying each one all the way through the darkness and into life, each in their season. I know that when Jesus “humbled Himself,” He was in no way ‘departing from’ God. In complete contrast, when Jesus humbled Himself, He was revealing God; He was showing us our Father as He is.

Because I am filled full with such a God, I also walk in meekness and lowliness of heart towards others. That never means any “put-down” of myself; rather, it means that I always lift others up in honor and regard. I always highly value my brothers and sisters in Christ, even as they also highly value me. I always think about their concerns more than my own, even as they think about my concerns in the same way. I share the same heart-thinking with all my brethren.

The Ekenosis – God Revealed Through Me.
I possess the same heart-thinking that defined Jesus in His connection with God all the days of His time in the flesh. The same heart-thinking that filled Jesus fills me in all that I am, in full saturation.

I know that the Lord Jesus, the human Jesus, exists now again in the form of God, that is, all here now and utterly Personal and real inside of me, written all through the pathways of my heart as the very Seed of God.

I know that this same Jesus actively connects me utterly with God my Father and God with me in every continuous moment. I know that I exist as this same Jesus gives voice to God’s thoughts concerning me.

I know that I am equal with God, for He made me just like Himself by the pattern of the Lord Jesus. I am of His same kind; I am able to receive His Seed and bring forth His life into the world.

I stand heart to Heart with God, for I share His determination and His Desire is poured out in my heart. I stand forehead to Forehead with God, for I will not rest until His intentions are all that I am.

Yet I do not hold onto that equality with God as if it should make me “superior” in any way. Rather, I place myself as a servant to God, that He might be free to reveal Himself through me as He wishes. I willingly give myself to Father for His sake, that He might win all His desire.

In my human weakness, in my confidence in God with me, I CALL God my Father to enter out from my heart and into my world. God, I call you to come and to be life to others through me. I am confident that God IS coming through me in every moment, just as He wishes, for the sake of others.

I know that my human frame is God’s appearance in all heaven-earth. I know that in my gathering together with other believers in Jesus, that God is seen and known by all as they see our tender compassion as we love one another in just the same way that Jesus loves us.

I call God my Father into our love as the Church together, that this invisible God who fills me with all that He is might be our deep love for one another in the highest regard and respect. I call every interaction we have together to be God-Love among us, regardless of our appearance of weakness.

Indeed, I know that as God my Father is revealed through my human weakness, He humbles Himself together with me and with us together, for the sake of others. I know that God shares my every moment as part of me and that He and I together embrace all the pressures of travail so that others might enter into the wondrous knowledge of God.

I hear the beating of my Father’s Heart as He places Himself beneath each one, seeing them as better. And in hearing my Father, I join myself utterly with Him and He with me, such that we together carry each one in our shared Hheart.

I know that as I stumble forward in the path set for me, that Father carries me, that Father shares even my stumbling failure utterly with me. I know that Father and I together, and together with my brothers and sisters, are carrying the entire creation, each individual person, in our hearts all the way through the darkness and into life.

I know that Father revealed through us together is the life and joy of all creation.

I know that God exalts above all things in creation this quality of Jesus in me, of sharing Hheart with Him in His care for all.

In the “world” created by Juliette Marillier in the Shadowfell trilogy, Neryn, a teenage girl, is a “caller.” In this world there are two types of beings, humans and “good folk.” The good folk have some human qualities and some qualities of nature, of fire, water, earth, and air. They have some physical qualities and some magical qualities. We could think of them as “angels.”

Among the good folk are four Guardians, one of fire, one of water, one of earth, and one of air. These are powerful beings, but they are not “gods,” that is, they live with their folk as beings of great respect and honor, but they are not worshipped.

As a caller, when Neryn calls any of these beings to come to her aid, they MUST respond. Her voice has all authority over them. Yet Neryn quickly learns that it can be costly to the good folk to come to her aid. And she cannot imagine herself calling any of the Guardians, for in her mind, that would be great disrespect.

Another young man is also discovered as being a caller. He has no scruples about abusing his authority and becomes a servant of the evil king. He binds good folk to the service of that king against their wills and to unending pain and death.

Because Neryn submits herself to the training of each of the Guardians, and because of her respect and love for the good folk, in the end, her power to call goes far beyond the other caller such that the good folk he had imprisoned respond to her and not to him. He collapses and dies.

Nonetheless, in the climax of the story, in the moment of victory, Neryn calls many of the good folk who come from far and wide to her aid. Even the four Guardians respond to her call. Yet they come on the scene, not as her “servants,” but in the respect she holds for them, as the speakers of wisdom to all.

And this is exactly what you see happening in the passage from The Jesus Secret II on the Ekenosis, on calling God through us into our world.

BECAUSE we possess the same meek and lowly mind that is Jesus, as our Father comes through us to show Himself to all, we humble ourselves, that Father might have the platform, that He might be Himself inside His creation.

We do understand, of course, that if we take God at His word, we are speaking of “incarnation,” of God manifest in the flesh, through us His Church as our love for one another. To those who heed the serpent’s gospel, this is blasphemy. To us, it is LOVE, that is, being normal humans.

In a later chapter, before we finally wrap up this topic, which has proven to be one of my most favorite books to write, I will include a chapter titled “Keep on Praying,” that will include many of the “calling” prayers from our Sunday morning Zoom sessions.

The first prayer we prayed comes out from the study of “Moses and His Stick.” We just started, without having any idea what we were doing.

“Father, You fill our hearts with all overflowing abundance of favor. Father, we know that the birthing of Your Kingdom is the birthing of You into our world, that You would be part of Your creation in all joy and goodness.

“Father, we have no idea what we are doing, but we know You. And You told us to think the same way Jesus thought, as He called You to become visible through Him. Father, we call You to enter into our world through us, that You might be our gentle touch, our kind words, our love for one another.

“Father, we call You to be protection for Your people through us. We call You to be the proving of all Salvation in Your Church. We call You to be all provision of need through us. We call You to be total victory over all who oppose Your people. And Father, we call You to be, through us, all humility, all “hands-off,” all absolute trust in You.

“Father, we know that it is You, the All-Carrying, coming through us to be part of our world. We know that God-with-us, that is, LOVE, is a miracle of faith.

“Father, cause us to know Jesus in our hearts, the very FAITH of the Son of God, the only faith we are, that we might expect, every moment, that we are walking in a thick God, in all outpoured goodness and favor.”

Now, there are three essential elements on our part that must be full and complete in our ongoing practice of calling God into our world. Those three essential elements are first, sharing Hheart with God, second, believing we have received what we ask, and third, the speaking of a pure word from God.

In fact, these are the three elements of our victory as found in Revelation 12:11 – the Cross, the Blood, and the Word of our testimony.

I had another dream of resurrection recently. The specific circumstances of the dream were bizarre and did not seem to be directly related to God’s meaning, which was known throughout the dream. The essence of that dream, then, is that I had gone deep into a narrow tunnel, and there, in a secret place known by few others, I had taken what was there and begun to eat it. As I ate of this treasure, I found life arising and swallowing up death in my body through stages. I gave the treasure to others to eat and they also began to experience life swallowing up the death in their physical bodies.

This was resurrection life, very real, causing actual changes, that is, through stages, restoring the body back to its prime condition at, say, thirty years of age, at least for men, becoming a body that cannot and will never die.

I knew in my dream that the treasure found in the secret place was sharing Hheart with God.

And I also knew that my recent experience with the Mercy Seat, in claiming LIFE, that as I willingly joined myself to the Father for the sake of this one who had caused me great pain, that God would raise me up into life, AND that I would take my brother with me, that this is the level of authority God has brought to us. And, of course, this is how I described Jesus’ authority and ours in the last chapter.

Allowing the Father to be part of our human agony AND receiving others that they might join with Father inside the love poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit given to us, this is the position and source of all calling of an invisible God into being seen and known through our love for one another.

Nonetheless, that “source” is useless apart from the other two necessary elements. You see, if we ask God for LIFE, for us and for our brother or sister, the one who offended us, then we must believe that God IS, as in IS, as in IS coming through us into our world. We must believe that the ongoing circumstances of our daily lives and especially our interactions together ARE, in fact, God-Love as all our connections together.

We must believe that God is.

And then we speak the simple and quiet words of our witness, “God, You are revealed now through us together. God, You are love through me.”

It is here, in the speaking, then, that we find the vast complexity of word.

And this is what we have found as we created a prayer after each session in After My Own Heart. In that teaching, we are seeking to know the heart relationship with God that each one of these Old Testament believers knew. In so doing, we are coming to know them as brethren with us, that they are part of our lives and we part of theirs. I’m speaking of Abel and Abraham, of Moses and Joshua, of Ruth and David, and many others.

Yet each one reflects different facets of word in the many-faceted revelation of God. And thus, the call of God into our world is shaped in surprisingly different and unique ways by each study.

In our prayers, however, we are going back and forth between calling God into our world and calling our brethren into the knowledge of God. These are two different things, operating inside of two different types of constraints.

Towards our brethren, nothing that is of God towards them will ever be by force. They themselves must step out from their self-created prisons; their hearts won entirely by Jesus as Word designed specifically for each one personally.

But consider God. Last time He entered into our world, becoming visible through the human Jesus, we humans murdered Him. And there is every evidence that humans will seek to do the same thing a second time, including Christians.

Even more than that, from the very start, after God gave all authority over heaven and earth to mankind, humans have used that authority to accuse God of every conceivable evil. Then, Christians turned the very study of God, theology, into the serpent’s gospel, into seeing God as schizophrenic, partly through Jesus and partly through the highest angel.

For six thousand years billions of humans have spoken against God in great cries of wailing accusation every moment without cessation. And Christian “theology” screams its evil against God right along with the rest. These cries of accusation have not come out from emptiness, but out from the authority of God given to humans.

Consider Jesus in Psalm 22. – I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people. All those who see Me ridicule Me. – Trouble is near; for there is none to help. Many bulls have surrounded Me; strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me. They gape at Me with their mouths, like a raging and roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; it has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded Me; the congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.

Then consider Jesus in John 14. – He who has seen Me HAS SEEN the Father.

Okay, here are two lines to put together. My heart is like wax; it has melted within Me. – He who has seen Me has seen the Father.

If Jesus shows us God and the devil does not show us God, then we can only conclude, for real, that God’s heart is shattered by the horror thrown against Him by humans for six thousand years.

Here is God’s testimony after 1500 years – I am sorry that I ever made humans (Genesis 6).

How will Father’s Heart be healed?

How will Father’s Heart be healed?

By one means only, by a people, regular folk, you and me, who believe that God is telling us the truth in the gospel, and in so believing, give thanks inside of and for the sake of all.

Let me include again portions of one of the Annie visions that I have included many times, including in an earlier chapter of this text. The underlined words are my own emphasis.

From The Wave of Pure Light
…God showed me a new and extraordinary wave of heavenly pure light and life that He is accumulating to prepare the manifestation of the Great Harvest that will develop underneath the storm of evil which is forming. He told me that He would not wait or retain this wave anymore, but that He would proceed to manifest it because His great “now” had come. While being released by Him, it would flow over the earth, returning multitudes of souls to the fold.

This new wave, full of powers and forces of light and life, was His instrument and had a double function: one opened as the incision of a sharp sword, and the other penetrated and went through beyond all defense and accomplished what God had proposed.

… While the storm of darkness still followed its course, this new wave of so pure light and life that had been prepared for this hour, suddenly started to expand in an explosive and magnificent way. …

… Clearly the operation of God in this wave of light developed in the chosen ones through the purity and the holiness. This wave of pure light was working in the midst of great darkness underneath the storm…

He said that He would take this marvelous wave of light and life to a certain state of development – up to the same threshold of its explosion. Although He desired this wave to burst in this explosive force of purity, something was still missing for this to happen. The moment of the explosion would be precipitated and lit by the elect ones who were above the storm.

Each one of them individually had to open as if it were a door inside them, and they also had to enter an even higher place of communication with Christ, which at the same time, would open their inner doors to the manifestation in great power of this force of light.

While opening these doors, that great wave of light would pass through them and would start to accomplish its purposes and works over the land… taking its territory as long as the chosen ones moved forward and opened the doors to the new ones.

The ones who were under the storm, though they received great provision of light and life that God shed, nonetheless they were allowed to be moved, shaken and buffeted. However, through this, it would be provided the way in which the Lord would mold, transform and develop them. On the contrary, those who were above the storm of darkness, that is, the elect ones could not be shaken as they were rooted and asserted in their relationship with Christ.

He told me that these sons that would give way to this new wave, must be extremely purified. This purification is of fundamental importance, not only for themselves, but also for these new ones that will be gathered. This high, complete purification of the elect ones is equivalent to the opening of the doors inside them that will rebound in a force of great life and light to those thousands that are still in darkness.

This vision is clearly an expression of the word from Isaiah 40. – Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together…

Yet we have stopped calling God by the “things of God,” that is, as “a force of light.” Rather, we call Him by His Person, that is, Father.

What is it, then, that will entice our Father to enter through us into our world, a world that has given Him only untold and incomprehensible pain and grief?

Purity.

That is, the absence from our hearts and our mouths of all speaking against.
