19. Believers Together as Incense

On the way into the Holiest, the Altar of Incense in the Christian experience is meant to be a season of our lives in which God teaches us to despair of our own righteousness and thus enter through Jesus' flesh into Christ alone.

Those who remain in that fire beyond the seasons of God do so because they reject union with Christ. As a result, the fire burns in them an intensity of self-righteousness – flesh controlling flesh.

As we turn around upon the Mercy Seat, becoming then, the Church as God means her, the Altar of Incense becomes the fragrance of Christ in every place.

Lesson 19.1 True Incense gives a more detailed look at God's intention for the Altar of Incense in contrast to what it has become among those who draw back. True Incense is being as Christ towards others.

Lesson 19.2 Combining the Tens takes the ten patterns of home and combines them together with the ten most important verses. With a slight rearrangement of the order we find that the match is wondrously true. The avenues and vistas of truth that open for us in this combining are glorious and without end.

Lesson 19.3 The Aroma of Christ shows how the true aroma of Christ through us brings blessing and life and joy everywhere we go.
