7. Wood, Blood, and Fire

Although every element and point inside the description of the Tabernacle is fully applicable to understanding New Testament truth (as well as intended by God for that purpose), it is the seven pieces of furniture as well as the three entrances that are the most important to us.

Each of the three entrances and each of the seven pieces of furniture will have its own chapter in this text.

Our goal in this session is to discover the working patterns whereby these seven pieces of furniture inside each of the three entrances depict to us this great wonder with which we are engaged – knowing our Covenant with God.

Lesson 7.1 Wood, Gold, and Bronze begins with a chart depicting the physical materials of which each of the seven pieces of furniture are constructed as well as the elements placed upon each piece, the action consuming those elements, and the result of that action. The lesson continues investigating each part of this layout in order to understand the meaning of these things in terms of our Covenant with God.

Lesson 7.2 Blood and Oil first focuses on two critical elements and how their use in the Tabernacle illustrates for us their use in the New Covenant. Yet the lesson is not limited to Blood and Oil, but also includes the elements of covenant tablets, bread, and incense.

Lesson 7.3 Resurrection and Fire then looks at the primary action taking place upon each piece of furniture, fire, and its meaning inside the New Covenant. The lesson includes a critical chart depicting how the five pieces of furniture in the Holy Place and in the Holiest work together as the revelation of God through us.
