23. Pro-Calling Forth

The Greek prefix, "pro," meaning both "before" in time and "out from" as source plays a far larger role in the New Testament and in our knowledge of God than we have ever known. Besides the three huge "pro" words in Romans 8:28-20 – pro-thesis, pro-knowing, and pro-determined – there is a fourth pro-word found frequently in the gospels, pro-calling forth, that is, prophecy.

God never "predicts" the future. Rather, God speaks Christ, the entrance of God's thoughts into their season in the unfolding of space and time. Then, we who are anointed of the Lord "call forth" the knowledge of Christ into the human experience.

Prophecy, calling forth Christ, is our active role in implementing our Covenant with God.

Lesson 23.1 Prophecy places the function and role of the prophetic word into our knowledge of the gospel and of creation. Paul defines "the word of prophecy," a definition that does not include "predicting the future."

Lesson 23.2 Speaking the Seven then takes the reader through the practice of calling forth Christ at each of the seven passages in the Tabernacle, that is, our seven agreements with God in the Covenant.

Lesson 23.3 Calling Forth Christ positions our action of speaking Christ into its place in the establishment of the Kingdom of God and setting creation free.
